    I feel like what some of the people are frustrated with is that the first orders from the launch have still not been shipped, yet people who are making orders now are getting them, across the country, in like a week. I know this from firat hand experience. I ordered 3 pixs on launch and they still haven't shipped, but I went and ordered a different pix on Oct. 29th and got it on Nov 6th. Also people are seeing them going to setup at another con. If they are sooo busy then they should focus on current orders.

      If they have the product, they can ship it. It appears only some product isn't in their hands, which would be why some products are shipping and some aren't.
      I get the frustration, but why, if the reason they are behind is that their product is stuck in customs, would they not attend a convention? The issue is that they're waiting for product to arrive, not that they can't ship fast enough.

    I want to thank you two for explaining the situation to us in a way that makes perfect sense. Sometimes we get upset when there is no reason to be upset simply because we’re not thinking about everything involved. They’re new and I’m excited so I’m going to be patient and thankful!!     "Fan Serviced on Steroids" ... this is how Big B described Thrilljoy.
    As I made the decision not to dip my toes into the Thrilljoy pool (mainly concerned that Chris p-worded in it ... allegedly), I have been blissfully unaware of the drama surrounding them. Until the Gastlecast shot that to hell.
    After watching this video, I also skimmed through your interview with Brian, and came up with some entirely unoriginal conclusions. It also reinforces feelings that I had of his performance as President/CEO at Funko (many of which he would likely agree with). Brian (and Mike Becker) is a stronger creative leader than operational one. Thrilljoy is a passion project of Brian Mariotti, they are him, he is them. There is no separation between Thrilljoy and Brian, and therefore perception about the success or failure of the company will fall primarily in his lap.
    Thrilljoy overpromised and underdelivered. Brian has MANY MANY positives ... but being a large-scale business "leader" may not be one of them. I believe he is the case study for the Icarus Syndrome/Complex.
    In your interview, Brian said that Thrilljoy was "not interested in how big we can grow ... we're interested in how cool we can make stuff". This was after sharing that they already had 250 SKUs done. He identified a few members of his "super team", which seemed to be entirely composed of design, licensing, and marketing people. I do not recall anything being discussed about operational or logistics leaders within that "super team".
    Brian stated clearly that Thrilljoy would launch in the United States ... AND ... Canada "right off the bat". That didn't happen.
    Brian stated that Mega Pix would be priced at "about" $125. The first Bloo dropped at $175, but he did use the caveat of "about". However, a 40% increase is more than an "about".
    I don't know if Brian was speaking off the cuff, or if he had bad information. It is reasonable to ask that people give a new company the benefit of the doubt when they are growing, but Thrilljoy should also expect customers who are not receiving the product/service promised to be dissatisfied. It is unfortunate if customers are being outright rude or hateful, but if Professor Josh's information that Thrilljoy wasn't responding to emails is correct, they may be accountable for some escalation in rhetoric.
    Hopefully Thrilljoy adds some logistically-minded individuals to the operations team, as their first 4 weeks indicate it is/was needed. The big question is whether those people will be able to reign in Brian to ensure that the company delivers on their promises, and allow them to continue making cool stuff for many years to come.
    Until that happens, maybe it's for the best that I relinquished my title of BigBlooBaller.

    I think my biggest problem is not the wait, but the fact they haven't even sent us email updates. This Brian post was only made because ppl were so angry, and so it didn't seem genuine. Also, them dropping 75 items on the date they did without in hand product is not an excuse. If you dont have it, dont sell it. I mean, dont even tell ppl about it if you dont have it. They also said 2-4 weeks. Today is the 4th week. And free shipping is not too much to ask for 😂 hes not mischeif toys. He's a start-up, but his bank account is more than yours. Ik you guys are backing him because yall got "the youtube rub," but the rest of us are not getting that treatment. And i think you guys are being a tad biast even if it's not instinctively. Still love the gastlecast, though! I didn't complain, but now that im sitting here, i shouldn't forget about an order. That's pretty messed up. This isn't like a pre-order situation. I forgot i ordered from them, and now yeah, i do want my product. I mean, your word was 2-4 weeks, so they are past the "grace" time officially. So, the free shipping is fair. But then again, I'd never know about that if i didn't stalk instagram because, again, no emails.

      We are not being biased at all based off our interactions with him. If you assume that, it's obvious that you don't know us as well as you seem to think.
      We may be biased AS BUSINESS OWNERS as as human beings. No one deserves the hate we have seen them receive over the last few days, and I am positive their emails and DMs are WAY uglier.
      We understand the frustration collectors are having, as we stated many times in this video. The point is, there is no reason at all for people to be as nasty and vile as they have. If not getting a collectible in the perfect timeframe is your biggest worry in life, consider yourself lucky.

      @@GramzDaProperPopper That is absolutely NOT what they were saying. What they were trying to say, as Cliff Notes, "We can understand what Thrilljoy is going through as we are business owners. We also, as collectors, understand that you are upset and frustrated. But, no matter how big of a company you are and no matter how big your bank account is, that doesn't mean life can't happen. Good thing this company doesn't make transplant products people need to save lives and they are a collectible toy company." That is not rude.
      What I am going to say is this...life happens, find gratitude and yes, they could have sent emails, letters, sky writing or messenger pigeons...but they didn't. I collect toys to bring joy to my life and waiting doesn't cause any harm to any of us. But throwing temper tantrums and verbally attacking a startup company is egregious and if I were him I would just keep track of those that sent nasty messages and stuff and block you from buying. That way you NEVER have to worry about late issues again.
      In short...they're toys, grow up and stop verbally attacking and character assassinating a man just trying to bring joy into this world.

      @GramzDaProperPopper You are completely disregarding the rest of what we have said in our comments AND in our video and twisting our words. Yes, they are JUST COLLECTIBLES. There is absolutely no reason on this earth for people to be as hateful as they have been over COLLECTIBLES.
      Everyone has the right to be upset for not receiving their orders. We have not once said no one's allowed to feel that way. Yes, people can ask for answers. There is no harm in that.
      What is not okay is treating people terribly because a collectible didn't come in time. Some of the words we have read from their customers have been appalling.

Point blank, I paid for something that was a bday gift to my son. It hasn't shown up, so now I had to find a plan b cuz idk if you know what it is like to have a kid feel forgotten on their bday, but im not gonna be that kind of dad. But also as I said. They could've sent an email weeks ago.

      Because they clearly have the items that people ordered later in hand. As Brian stated, it's a customs issue. Would you prefer they not ship anything at all until all of the items were received by them? Do you disagree with them shipping what they currently have on hand?

    i placed a order on October 25th for a bloo and I received it on November 5th and I ended up getting the bloo gold chase the only complain I had was that the black thrilljoy packaging was damaged on the bottom but the bloo gold Chase was to cool to return so i kept it since then I have placed 2 more orders and i am still waiting on the new collectibles the product is definitely official i will be buying more

      We understand. Only some items haven't arrived yet. So the people who are placing orders with items that are in stock are receiving them. That makes sense to us.
      They have 0 control over customs, and customs doesn't give you any sort of guidance or estimate as to when your items will arrive. We know this, because we have been through it, and it's horrible.

      @ I'm not mad at them. I just don't understand why someone who orders the same item on the same day as me get theirs while others are still waiting. I will still do business with them. I just hope they get better with their shipping.

    I definitely have to consider often times the type of people I get lumped in with by buying certain products like Funko pops. It’s a little concerning and scary.
    When I ordered my thrill joy order on launch day it literally said when to expect them I knew when I ordered them, they wouldn’t be coming until November or later. I accepted that when I made the order.
    people are special if you were able to make an order later or know somebody who did and they got their product good for them, but definitely nothing to complain about .

    I’m glad to see communication from the company happen, especially Brian who went silent after NYCC launch. It took lots of people’s voices to finally get answers on what’s going on. It would have been easy to put this out to anyone with an order not fulfilled earlier this week when you know you can’t fulfill orders by the deadline. I’m really curious how much of the product wasn’t in hand at launch. I know they just got a customer service team only about 2 weeks ago. Before that no one was responding to emails. Im glad to see sowmthing come out from Brian, interesting it wasn’t a blog on their website and on X which Thrilljoy doesn’t have social media presence on. We still don’t really have a timeline when orders will be fulfilled but it’s nice they are making up for it. Really best thing to do for people who bought into the company with their money day one. I think many people have been burnt by companies in the last 2 years and when silence happens on updates they get worried.

      You're saying that because people were asking for answers is the only reason they made a statement? Do you really believe that to be the case? They spoke up at 4 weeks. They gave an update. It seems unfair to assume that they only did that because people spoke up.
      We understand the frustration. But being worried about an order does not ever give anyone the right to be as hateful and ugly as what we have seen over the last few days. We are embarrassed to call ourselves collectors during times like this, because collectors have been absolutely disgusting over this situation. It sits on your shelf. There is literally no reason to personally attack the people running the company.
      There likely will not be an update until the items exit customs. When we have gone through that, no one was any help at giving us a timeline of when our product would be released. It was horrendous and we absolutely feel for them being in this situation, because it's expensive and frustrating.

    This isn’t to brag or anything most of what I’m going to say has probably been said but I think they are just trying to work things out. Logistics are extremely difficult. Example I placed my order for Van Gogh (should have bought it while I was at NYCC) On Oct 25 and received it on Nov 6. I have no clue how this happened, but it did. I’m happy about getting it super fast, However understand why people would be frustrated. My friend ordered Mars attacks, while we were at NYCC , because it was sold out. He still hasn’t received it. There could be a lot of factors, One of them being maybe they didn’t have all the thrill joys Available and ready to ship at the time and still waiting for them to be manufactured. Maybe they’re shipping certain versions of product all at once Or they just don’t know what they’re doing yet. Who knows just trying to put some insight.

      We totally get the frustration too. Their statement said that things are stuck in customs. Customs is totally random and it sucks. They had some product, but they didn't have it all. They're shipping what they have. The people who ordered day 1 are getting mad that people who ordered after them are getting their items, but do they expect Thrilljoy to not ship anything at all until the remainder comes in so the people who ordered first gets theirs first? The amount of hate over a collectible being late is astonishing!

    Some of this is maybe we need to walk before we run. Maybe 75 skews are too many to start. Maybe we should have taken it a bit slower and exceeded the customers expectation than hoping that everything would go perfect to meet that time frame. Thrilljoy came into the world and wanted to blow everyone away. They have instead stubbed their toe.

    Because Brian has experience working in the business, he should have known that the company should have started small. There was no reason for them to release so many different products all at once. And on the flip side, some people are just terrible, need to have patience, and like you said, calm down.

    I get delays happen and I get that it's a start up, but communication is key, especially for a start-up. If day one of the customs delay, we would have received an email saying basically hey everyone we appreciate every one's orders but we have an issue with customs so we might be a little delayed from the 4-week timeframe I would have just been fine with it. But the silence is what is I was mad about.

      Conpletely understand! Our assumption is that they thought they'd have it all in hand by 4 weeks so they let it go until the last day. We don't agree with that, we think it should have been done sooner, but at least they're communicating, which is super important. The good news is they are definitely learning from this!

    Definitely should afford some grace BUT they should also have arguably been transparent in what they were able to service and offer in hand/pre-order.
    As someone using an international forwarder I probably won't collect Pix due to their size and weight meaning shipping be too much.
    The charge back talk is ridiculous though

    Thrilljoy could have avoided this problem by not doing as big of a release before they had the means to deliver in a timely manner. This doesnt have anything to do with people expecting Funko levels. This is peoole expecting them to be able to handle what they themselves decide to do. Everyone seemed all impressed by how much Thrilljoy was doing right away. I think its fair to be disappointed that they were not actually ready for it.

      @Gastlecast overall I think those comments wouldn't exist if the company didn't bite off more than it can chew. And that seems to be what happened. I think any company doing this big a release will get similar feedback. Its just easy to talk about funko because it's Brian so it's used but any company with this amount of hype will get the same response I think.

    What I don't understand about thrilljoy. I ordered 2 different items and then a week later I ordered 1 different 1 the single came in still waiting on my first order.

      They stated some product is held up in customs. Our guess is that the item you ordered later was in stock, while at least 1 in your original purchase is held up in customs.

    'THEY ARE SMALL TEAM, THEY ARE STARTUP' excuse shouldnt be a thing for Thrilljoy, they have all the know-how yet they messed up which shows they did not learn enough from before imo
    Also if we accept and keep on saying that every time something bad happens, this is imo acceptance for companies to keep continue doing so, people will hate and thats obvious, thats how world works nowadays. Your hating on people hating so thats confirms it :P Also regarding contacting Funko/ collectibles company even as an 'influencer' You HAVE NO IDEA how hard it is to get into some proper contact with them. Trust Me

      They messed up by a random customs check?
      We actually know very well how hard it is to contact anyone. We have accounts completely unrelated to our channel and contact companies as ourselves on our personal accounts unrelated to The Gastlecast when it comes to personal matters (unless we are being silly on the channel). We fully understand how long the wait is, as we have had issues with many companies before.

    ThrillJoy only has 4 team members right now! It took them 4 weeks to ship my first order (not the preorder) to get to me. They just shipped it today! I think that this is super reasonable with 4 people! People don't think its a fast turnaround but it is!
    Also, Equillibrium has the same time frame! When you order at the con, usually the order doesn't come in till May. People don't know that this is custom made and hand sewn together!

    A lot of the people complaining aren't buying these to collect, they're buying them hoping to hit a chase or ultra chase and are upset they haven't gotten to flip them yet

    People are peopleing WAY too much! These are toys! SUre, this could have been handled better, but they didn't. They may have history in the business, but they are still a start up! Grow up, calm down and remember...THEY ARE TOYS! What else would you have done with your money? If it's rent, bills or food...STOP BUYING TOYS and take care of your life! Kindness, gratitude and patience work wonders. Holler at me if you need tips on how to practice any of those three.

      Absolutely agree!! I said in the video that people need to calm down but I knew as soon as I said that it wouldn't happen LOL Collectors are a different breed sometimes and its sad to see the hate and discontent from something that is supposed to be fun. Brian sent out a good message and is doing what he can for the fanbase. Transparency is everything. We're in it for the long haul after seeing how it was all handled - good on him!

Seriously, he is doing what he can and if it's not good enough for people that liked the product enough to originally order it, then were they in it for the right reason from the jump? If I am genuinely excited and on this ride, sure I may be bummed but I will listen and be patient, because i care. But if I am only looking at it as resale or clout (which I still don's understand) I would be angry. Some of these people are only mad probably because they ordered ones just for resale, probably sold them already online and now are facing refunds and other issues. If that is the case...goo on you life for smacking em down. Papa Emeritus and/or Cardinal Copia would be disgusted by these reactions. SMH...people peopleing.

      Absolutely. We've been collecting for so long that we understand that sometimes things take more time and expectations aren't always met. We think Thrilljoy did a good job by responding the way they did.

    Thank you so much for this video! As a business owner, I’ve also had my fair share of challenging customers who either don’t get it or, at times, seem to act out just to cause trouble.     The overall problem and challenge is that Society has created a society of instant gratification and the expectation of quick results. Society has become very impatient which creates this thinking of "I want it and I want it now!" mentality. People need to learn patience and, as a friend of mine coined it, enjoy the delayed gratification.

    Great video! YES people are a holes on the internet! Look you guys said it ,you order something its not guaranteed to get it unless you pay for overnight. That being said i won the chance to get a funko project Fred and i didn't get it for 3 months! I knew that going in! so Thrilljoy said it was going to be shipped out 2 to for 4 weeks. so people go into A hole mode because they can't wait a little longer? Wow.

    TTTTRRRASH!!! is amazing. People, especially the internet and social media will always have bad things to say, this is why so many people nowadays are 'taking a break from social media' because people can be extremely toxic, i bet you see some negatively in every single one of your videos. On a personal level i couldn't give two sheeps, however this can really affect businesses like Thrilljoy, and its only the people who are patient and wait will be rewarded, and at the same time ThrillJoy will learn and be better for the next release.
    There are just nasty people who don't want anyone to succeed unless they benefit from it, same people who will moan if they don't get a chase
