This is the song the love of my life sang to me on saint Patrick's day, the day he confessed his feelings for me. Now all this song does is make me cru
i’m sorry to hear that I played this on guitar for my high school sweetheart but sadly she left me for another on day. definitely the one that got away but perhaps destiny has something else in store for me, only time will tell.
@@fuerobear6097 this is song is about a man who loves a woman that has left him or his love is unrequited. So yeah pretty depressing but it can be used as a love song in a relationship especially the chorus.
It’s hilarious to me as a musician how folks can cherry-pick things they don’t like about what they hear and then boil down that appraisal into one of talent. Way to have a popular opinion lol. I note, for example, that you’re not taking issue with the heavy reverb on the voice. Is the use of reverb a mark against their talent? You’re not discussing the compression; the dynamics the engineer brought to this mix. Is using a $2000 microphone in a $500/hr studio fair game in music or are we going to require everyone to record themselves on their phones from here on out to make sure there’s a nice level playing field on which we can measure “talent?” You actually have no idea if autotune was or wasn’t used, you’re under the impression that “auto tune” means TPain voice. You have no idea if the engineer meticulously pitch-shifted in places. Whether they decided to put some nice volume ramps to simulate perfect intonation. You literally have no idea because you haven’t seen the engineer’s process, you’re simply deciding that what you’re hearing is a raw cut. Most folks are completely ignorant of what they’re hearing, completely and totally devoid of any sense of what it took to get these voices into their headphones. And that ignorance results in a paradoxical confidence. They then project that confidence with abandon which, by and large, is then rewarded by the hoard of similarly uninformed pigeons clicking their little Skinner buttons to get their seed. The Dunning-Kruger effect of Internet musical critics is strong, my friends. Try to avoid being a pigeon.

@@The3LetterAgency he's not being an ashole. He's merely stating a truth. Autotune is so common in the engineering process. For a good singer it may be only very minor pitch shifts and vocal ramps like Adam said, but for commercial pop it can be very liberally used. The funny thing about that is that vocal coaches often find it difficult to teach young people who've grown up with nothing but that music and have learned to sing from those songs because their body is doing things not normally natural to imitate their favorite artists

Other than a different hair color, thank you for singing a song about my dear sweet Katie. As sure as the sun rises in the east, I know God greeted her as a friend
Sorry for your loss partner I was just scrolling through the comments and saw yours. I can’t imagine losing one of my kids. I’ll say a prayer for you and your family including your dear Katie.
The love of my life sent me this. We were bowling team mates as kids at 12 years old. I was in love with him since the first day I met him. We ended up going our sperate ways for years. We reached out to each other as teenagers but it wasn't meant to be yet. Now at 35 years old, I reached out again and admitted my strong unyielding feelings for him and he returned them, admitting he loved me this whole time. He sent me this song and I'll cherish it always❤
It's the same music! Loch Lomond is a bit faster and has different lyrics (it might be in a different key too, I'm not sure though) both are very good songs!
I gotta do that. I just know that this song shares a melody with "The Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond." Funny story: My friends and I went on a retreat with some Franciscan friars, one of whom was from Ireland. He sung this on the last day. One of the girls said "it's just like 'Loch Lomond.' Both talk about dead lovers." Had to correct her 😅 one is about a true love, the other mentions a true love but one soldier who was set free has to take the high road while the condemned soldier takes the low road and "will reach Scotland before ye."

Such a beautiful song it sent chills through my whole body.
So beautiful! Beautiful voices and harmonies!
My Irish heart leaps every time I hear this song.
I was wondering why this song stuck out in such a beautiful way, and I just realized it.. there’s no music. Only vocals.
"A Cappella" is the term that describes unaccompanied singing - in case your interested. It is a beautiful song isn't it?
I love this song it takes me back to my Irish roots
Damn... this song always makes me well up a little. Love it so much

WOW this song is beautiful. First time I heard it. And like someone else said the fact the just used their voces made it even better.
I’m playing this cause it’s St. Patty’s day, 2019. Perfect song
