Those monsters are really really cool!
    Great sculpting and ideas.
When I was a kid I never had Transformers but I did have access to industrial garbage like metal and stuff so I got it and made bases for them that kinda looked cybertron-ish.
Then the kids with transformers came to play with me lol.

When I was a kid the curse of the wererabbit movie came out, the claymation wallace and gromit one. Anyhoo, they did these cool little play sets of all the characters in diecast metal, but they were really expensive, and we were very poor, living in a dodgy part of east London. So what my mum got me instead was bakeable polymer clay, with which I made every single character from the movie and a bunch of the little rabbits. I essentially realised that through sculpture, I could have any toy I wanted.

    • @wittlegoblin

I love this SO much. Claymation is so wild and I love that it unlocked this feeling of abundance in your creative play! Gosh, Wallace and Grommit… classic. Thank you for sharing this with me.

As a kid my parents couldn't afford warhammer (who can anyway lets be fair) we were on holiday and in the place we were staying I happened to find an unpainted orc arm on the floor. I imagined what it had come off and what battles and adventures they would have and played with it like this for hours.
Yeh I can relate with the wanting straight hair thing, I've never really got my curls to work for me, yours look awesome tho!

Welcome to the kitbashing/doll customizing/art toys hobby. Three quick tips I learned, Baking soda is NEEDED for a solid bond with superglue. Two, trash is shapes and free stuff to add to your sculptures. Three, every project is going to take longer then expected. But that said its always fun.

They immediately go to a friend of mine at the viscom lab who likes to mix and match and redo them and make dioramas. I remember that one of my favorite toys was a cheap plastic T-rex that was painted really poorly with outrageous orange paint, his eyes were uneven and he was missing one leg. I made prosthetic legs for him, built a horse-drawn carriage out of legos and basically took him everywhere. I've had a lot of fun playing with a toy that nowadays wouldn't have even made it off the conveyor belt.

I recently converted a second hand Masters of the Universe Action figure into a mega giant for One Page Rules' Age of Fantasy with a Starbarians inspired fluorescent blue hair color haha. Was super fun. My Ma bought it at a local Goodwill for my youngest bro but he didn't want it, and before it changed hands to my nephew, I saw it and thought, "yeah he looks like a giant to me." Lmao.

Watching this video was such a nostalgia trip for me. I grew up poor as well, never had many toys. Just some knock-off GI Joes and the likes as a kid. I never had much talent with drawing or sculpting but I'm pretty damn good with words, so I would write these ridiculously elaborate stories and adventures for them, riddled with twists and turns and emotional punches and would then enact it over the course of sometimes whole months. Once finished, I would then write sequels, etc. Maybe not a surprise that I ended up with a creative writing degree :D
One of my professional dreams that I've not yet managed to accomplish is to write a sci-fi horror graphic novel--still looking for an artist, though. One day, one day! :)
Thanks for the video, and keep up the good work (love what you created here with the different toys!). I can see your channel growing in no time.
