    so, you should definitely record the Szymanowski Sonatas, if you learn the rest of them. This is the clearest I've ever heard these fugues, even on a CD :O

      @Vrixton Phillips I actually did learn all of both piano sonatas here, but it'll take some additional time this term for me to get them ready to record

    the second fugue - oh wow. that was the most fun i've had with a fugue since i discovered shostakovich's a zillion years ago. bravo. (also, love the format of your channel with the scores and with seeing you play... just really enjoying your playing). keep up the great work.

    That first fugue is one of the coolest things.

    Unbelievable is a pretty solid adjective choice. This sort of tonal langauge isn't my style at all, but from a first impression you did these works justice; Learning just one of these two pieces would take me years.

    Szymanowski is one of my favorite composers. If you are going to go to the effort to learn these sonatas, then at least I can subscribe to your channel, and have. And very fine performances! Would love to hear the "Masques" if you are working on them.

      @Chase Kimball Will definitely try to get the Szymanowski piano sonatas recorded within the next 3 months, though it's always a bit variable as to when, since I'm still a university student working towards a major outside than music

    Fantastic! I'd love to hear your take on the fugue in Medtner's Sonata Miniaccosa. What mic'(s) do you use?

    • @Musicforever60
      @Musicforever60  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Daniel N. Ah, yes, that fugue's a worthy challenge as well! I use Zoom Q8 Handy Video Recorder, but I also do some audio post-processing to get it to sound like in the video

    The first fugue is great, second - more techno-phonic

    I noticed in the second part of "how to learn the hardest piece in the shortest amount of time" you but 2A, eluding to the fact that there might be a 2B, is this just a mistake or are you going to make another one?

    • @Musicforever60
      @Musicforever60  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Cryseris Ah, about that, I definitely forgot about that a bit. It's not the best time for me to do that these 4 months while I'm at university because of assignments and exams, and I also want to use the pianos there as much as possible, so maybe expect it earliest May 2022? I'll also need to do some careful analysis for this "2B" video

      @Cryseris 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Musicforever60 alright, those videos were massively helpful to me. So I’d love to see a 2B. Good luck with your exams.

    How long did you take to learn these pieces or were you sightreading

    • @Musicforever60
      @Musicforever60  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Calagat 5000 I'm not going to say for this video, but definitely not sightreading, but also, based on the other pieces I've recorded, also not too long 😉

  • @duqueadriano0081
    @duqueadriano0081 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I can't believe you're sightreading

    • @Musicforever60
      @Musicforever60  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Duque Adriano haha I wouldn't call it sight-reading in all senses of that word. In one sense, that term can mean playing it by sight for the first time and I'm definitely not doing that lol

    Excellent fugues, would it be possible for you to record the study in the form of Carl Czerny's Fugue Op.399 number 10, and then the complete Op.400? They are of a very similar level to the ones in this video.
