Gilmour is blues! He's the only floyd that has stand up to pay real tribute to their roots and the like. Music is not about property, it's about rendition to true masters and inspirations, in that sense he's real wise... & I'm real high on this!

he is an awesome guitar player and one of the best "melodykers" out there, that means he ca play just 5 notes and it sounds out of this world, but you can't compare him to hendrix, blackmore and page! those guys are in a different dimension! but david is a better singer than the 3 together^^

David Gilmour's phrasing is the finest in the world. Without that tone, style, and feel I doubt Pink Floyd would have achieved the acclaim they did (notwithstanding Roger Water's visionary creativity). The greatest loss to rock was when David and Roger parted ways...

I did as tmorgan12 suggested, didn't look at the video, only listening. I found the guitar playing to be extremely articulate, very impressive in its subtlety. Rich tone which varies throughout. Great phrasing. Somewhat akin in approach to the classical guitarist Julian Bream in the sheer variety of expression and ability to be present in the moment; not to rely on habits, but to actually create. Wonderful musicality. The whole band is in the groove. And yes, excellent vocals.
