Fascinating documentary and very well done. I'm Australian and we don't have anything like America's Western legend. Few reasons for that:- We didn't have a vast interior that was inviting for large numbers of people to go there (ours is all desert), and also a different sense of national identity. No idea of "manifest destiny" as Americans do. And it was pretty much impossible for anyone to slip from one side of the law to the other, as Wyatt Earp did.
Mate, how long have you been a Aussie? Ha, where do you live in Australia? Did you do history at school? What are you talking about? We’ve got BUSHRANGERS! Ned Kelly and the Kelly Gang, Ben Hall, Captain Moonlight, Mad Dog Morgan…. Hmmmm mate there is quite a few. Sadly we don’t froth as hard on our history as we do on America’s, it actually sh!ts me off to be honest. I’m taken my kids to many of the places of BUSHRANGER lore, Glenrowen, lightning bolts “ Marbles” and a few others. We need to educate our people on our history, the sh!t that went down here was epic! It’s just not as celebrated or as many movies or documentaries etc. have pride in our stories too mate, share them around, I’ve told many Americans about our Outlaws, the Bushrangers, they can’t believe it when they go down the rabbit hole on them, our legends are just as epic as theirs. Don’t lose that mate. Cheers from a descendent of a Bushranger. 😉
What a fantastic documentary, the bravery of some of these people is so amazing at a time when carrying a firearm was almost de rigueur. Wonderful narration and the images were brilliant. Thank you to all who took part in this great story from the "old west" so atmospheric its untrue.
Wow this kept me focused that was truly a piece of work I loved it watched it back to back twice I think underneath all the hurt was a kind man really who just wanted to get on with life but others made it troublesome from what I got from it, the look in his eyes at the end yeah like how’s your life been, and a definite presence about him. what a time awesome thanks a lot .
Wyatt earp was in tough time back in 1880s .If I was born in the time when Wyatt lived I would have shocked his hand ,he was a man man. One hell of a tough person
@@ZenYogi55 If Wyatt Earp was a pansy back in the 1880s he would have been strung up by his neck.? . He had to kill or be killed back the tough times on the dusty streets of Tombstone. Yes he was one tough SOB. I would have hated facing him in a shoot out .
Believe me my young friend, there's nothing, absolutely nothing, half so much relaxing as simply watching a PBS documentary. Just simply watching a PBS documentary.
"Tailor" means you are a German. Or you talk Jiddisch. Write "tailor" and everybody understands.
This article runs at tangents with true and documented instances in Earl's life. Particularly all the court trials investigating the killings at the ok corral and the death of Doc Holiday and the enduring friendship between He and Wyatt Earp.
He’s my 25th cousin lol. So says Ancestry. On my mom’s side which is Swedish. Greta Garbo is my 6th cousin and Julia Roberts is my 22 cousin. All this runs through Björn Ragnarsson «Ironside» Järnsida and Leif Erickson. 🤷🏻♂️
No wonder he was a good lawman because he was originally a criminal he was arrested for stealing horses but escaped and the rest is history as they say it takes a crim to catch a crim
It´s so funny how so many consider Wyatt Earp, his brothers and "Doc" Holliday as heroes still in our days. Wyatt was a pimp, stagecoach robber, horse thief and I am sure he was a card cheater too. Holliday was a grave alcoholic and an insane murderer. The Earps wanted gun control and that only the law men should carry guns. This is the only positive thing of the Earps. It seems that the gun nuts don´t really know this fact. Wyatt lied to director John Ford about his life and Ford believed in all of Wyatts lies. Wyatt is still considered as a hero, but he was actually a real piece of sh*it!

Never get enough of Wyatt Earp, the legend lives on. Thanks for this.
Unlike the businessmen, Wyatt is a legend who is remembered. What a man.

Excellent documentary film , provides a an insight into life in the Wild West.

De rigeur. Like 2022.
I just love the soothing voice of the commentators in the PBS documentaries. It makes even a mixed lives like this Wyatt sound very deep and impactful
Wyatt Earp, the legend and the man. Love him. ❤
Thank you 💛 for your excellent work on his biography!!

The film from 1993 has always fuelled my love of Earp and this period of the "Wild West". Its romanticism is unmatched.
Fabulous documentary the true story is always more amazing than Hollywood.
Very interesting and well done. Thanks for the content.🙌
I would have been in awe of Wyatt Earp. A man who was lost and suffered as a child from moving around constantly as I did. 😎
Fabulous documentary. Well done ✅
Well told the legend the man so different to the Hollywood version but this was real and so enjoyable
Best explanation of the creation myth of the Wild West and Wyatt Earp. Great history.
Earp was born with sand and died with sand. He fought the good fight and he has nothing to apologize for.
Great photographs ... what a story
Includes fascinating political history too
excellent
Wyatt Earp is truly a legend of legends!
What a beautiful haunting documentary and he was a beautiful and misunderstood man!!!! 😎

You’ve gotta get Doc’s picture correct! The pictures earlier in the video are correct. The one at the end (and one other place) is not Doc.
Love it from Australia

A brilliantly told story guys. Congrats. great job.
No mention of Johnny Ringo?
By jingo Ringo, they forgot all about you.

Johnny Ringo is a star. Ringo Star ☺
There’s a good Doc Holliday documentaries, and Johnny Ringo gets a mention in that.
The early picture of him reminds of Joel McCrea

Got me those cowboy blues
Nothing about his trial ?

This is educational as to the dilapidated state of our politically correct mad society…. The Cameo performance from dark emu was spot-on too.
Screenwriters have spoonfed generations a very distorted fairy tale dichotomy of history. It's good to find alternative voices like this.

Never was Wyatt Earp a hero in the usual sense. He was more of an anti-hero, the way he took the law into his own hands etc.
Judging by how many of these modern-day cowboy storytellers are wearing their hats indoors, I can only presume their mamas didn't raise them right.
Prove It.
The person narating the story is not aware of morale language, and being truthful?
