Absolutely love the room, I never even considered keeping toys separate from her sleeping space. Makes total sense, we try to keep our own bedrooms distraction free to encourage sleep, makes even more sense for a little person.
The doilies were my favorite item in her room. What a beautiful way to display them. And the handmade twinkle twinkle that Matt's mom made. Handmade items from both sides of Sageys family. So sweet, so beautiful. 💗
I also had the same fear when we converted our toddler's crib into a toddler bed. I worried she was going to escape and just run around. To our surprise, she never even leave the room when it's bed time. She was so excited that she could climb into the bed by herself. She looked really proud. We are glad we did it =)
Loved this I thought it was interesting that her bedroom is specifically not for toys because we started out that way with our son, and moved to a new house when he was 2, and the circumstances with that house completely flip flopped the toys. Most of his toys would be in his room and at that age he really started to love waking up and playing by himself and choosing when he was ready to come out and start socializing for the day. It was an unexpected outcome of that move. And 2 years and 2 moves later, we now own a house and his bedroom is much smaller again, do now he has a few bedroom toys but most have a bookshelf in the living room. And watching this just reminded me of how at first his bedroom really just was for sleeping because I'd forgotten, and realizing how much things have changed over just 2 years! We helped him understand toys aren't for bedtime by having him put them in the toy bin himself, then "tucking them into bed" by covering the toy bin with a blanket and really focusing on when the moon is out you and your toys need sleep to have a good time playing tomorrow and feel good. So they toys stay in bed until the sun comes up. It's worked well. He also still uses his own discretion on how much alone time he wants in the morning before he comes out, and that's been really cool to witness over time It's always so fun to see how other people do this parenting job, because it's simultaneously so personal but so universally relatable
My daughter slept in a crib until she was 3.5 years old. By the time we gave her a bed, she didn’t have a climbing out phase at all because she was older. Don’t feel bad about keeping the crib! It’s a life saver
Such a beautiful bedroom for your little girl! I have a son who is very quickly approaching 2 and I love the idea of creating a calm bedroom and separate play area for him ❤ thank you for the inspo!
It’s worked really well for us. I know not everyone has the option to have a separate playroom but it can even be a hybrid with your living room. We turned out dining room area into a playroom.
Something I learned when I cloth diapered, is that poop is supposed to go in the toilet for cloth or disposable diapers. I never read the box when I was doing disposable. They do say to drop the poop in the toilet before throwing out diapers. We used our crib until my son was 3. I saw no rush to get him out of a crib either. My son still uses his sleep sack at 3. We made him give up all of the other "baby" things, but he still love his sleep sack.
I absolutely LOVE your channel Nicole I always have! Before and especially after Sagey. I look forward to your content 🥰 it’s so helpful as a new mom myself. My son is 15 months this month 🤍 I’m really grateful for your channel. I have learned about everything from you, honest!
I literally love the room so much. I love the bookshelf, but I saw it was almost $500😭 for mommas on a budget like me, they have some similar ones on Amazon for like $60. I aspire to have your aesthetic girl, but I’m too broke for it😂 love you!
Love the room! Just found out you are Portuguese! Me too, but also half German. My mom is Portuguese! I'm living in Vienna now, but I lived in total around 15 years in Portugal
I love the baby routines , your routines with sage! I enjoy this I guess Coz we had kids around the same time! So I'm in that phase of my life. More routines please!
My twins are a month older than Sage and also still in cribs. Our pediatrician said the longer we can keep them in the crib, why not. So that’s what’ we did. The day will come when we have to put them in regular beds and I’m bracing myself 😬
Hello from Japan! I love your channel. It has been so beneficial for me even before I was a pregnant (now a mom of a 5 months boy). Could you share more about books you and sage love?
Hey Nikole! I love Sage’s bedroom, where did you get the pink pusher cart/carriage thing at? I read the blog post right after watching the video to see if you had listed it.
The dresser is secured but not the clothing rack as it’s not super heavy like a dresser. She’s also taller now and since it’s more at her height and not that heavy I’m not worried but every child is different.
Does it bother you that her playroom takes up that entire room next to your kitchen? Aesthetically, I feel like that room would be so beautiful as a sitting area or living room, especially since it's one of the main rooms you walk into. I've always preferred my son's toys to be tucked away, in a separate room, mostly because I don't want my house to scream "children" when people walk in, but that's just me. I love the idea of keeping only her books & quiet things in her room.
Love the room! I know most of Sage’s clothes are from Zara, H&M and baby gap, but I can’t find those floral sweaters/hoodies. Can you link some of them? My baby girl needs some new clothes ;) Thank you!
Please don’t feel like you have done something wrong because your toddler is waking throughout the night: usually when you hear someone from Canada and the US say that their child has been sleeping through the night since 4 or 6 months, it means they have done sleep training. In Canada where she lives (and where I live too), sleep training in the norm and most families do it, so if you’re not from here and haven’t been exposed to sleep training culture, you may think that a toddler sleeping 12 hours is luck, but it’s not. No judgment against parents who sleep train, but as a whole narrative it’s pushed SO MUCH here and it’s based on a lot of fear mongering, that it doesn’t allow parents to make informed choices whether to sleep train or not, and makes parents who choose not to sleep train feel like they are always doing something wrong. I chose not to sleep train and I get judged by parents who have. I don’t even start conversations about baby sleep but they do and they always make comments about the choices I made, even when it works for my family and my son sleeps well. In your case, it would be near impossible to sleep train a toddler of your child’s age, but you will find a lot of resources that can help without training. Check the accounts of hey sleep baby, resting in motherhood & kaitlin klimmer.
@@g.gemill i really appreciate hearing this bc it’s very easy to put the fault on yourself or esp have your spouse blame you for the night wakings. i tried the Baby Sleep Trainer and she was so great but ultimately sleep training just wasnt for me and ill have to suck it up. we are still nursing and i think the night feedings are also adding to the wakings.
@@sarikatimmi I completely understand! Night weaning can sometimes help with night wakes that are related to nursing, especially for kiddos over 18 months. The accounts I mentioned have resources on that. It’s not guaranteed but worth looking into. Wish you all the best 💛
Less and less healthnut content:( I get it and your baby is precious but it would be great to see the "old" Nicole more often. Health food related . Please!
I can understand how you feel. As a new Mom who has watched her channel for years, I am so happy she does Mom content now too. She is showing how to raise a healthy kid, that can mean more than just food. I understand where you are coming from but I personally love her channel even more than before.
Yes, I love the baby content. Healthnut is not only food… it’s an entire lifestyle. ❤
Thank you ☺️
I love the mix of motherhood and healthnut content! Post what you want and what keeps you inspired and motivated
Thank you ☺️ my content grows with me and this is the phase of life I’m in right now.

Such special pieces to have her room so happy to have them both
I have an almost 2 year old girl so all of your motherhood/Sage videos are my favorite!!!

Love Sage's room! especially the shelves with the leather straps and the watercolor rainbow. Her room is interesting and relaxing at the same time.
It also all serves a purpose I wanted it to feel warm and cozy and I think she feels that 🥰
You are such a good momma 🤍 everything is so well thought out and intentional, love it!

Haha ones keeping us pretty busy these days 🤪
Can you make a video about how sage started sleeping in a crib and how you got her to sleep in a crib? 😍😍😍
It's so pretty! Good job!
I miss your videos Nikole. Please upload more often 😊😊
Hi Nicole,
I don't even have a kid yet but I loved this video of your daughter's room. I enjoy watching your videos.

Where are the curtain beads from? I looked on the blog post but couldn't find them

Beautiful space! Did you need to secure any furniture to the walls? Does Sage try to climb the mini closet at all?

Love The Room NIKKI! :)

So beautiful! Where did you get those curtain tie backs?
I believe it was pottery barn kids but I can’t find the link anymore
I would absolutely love your cookbook to be non-digital. Do you think that will happen some day or will it forever be digital? :) xx
The link to the rug in your blog post isn’t working! 😭
I was worried about the bed transition with my 2 yr old but she hasn’t gotten out of her bed once this past year! 🤯
That’s incredible!!!

the mic made the sound a bit weird. awesome video though!

What is the book with the title The Goncalves family?
It’s a book I had custom made for Sage’s first Christmas 🎄 I forget the brand but there are so many companies that do them. Great gift ideas

Why would you say that Sage's room is so mature and grown up, Whats the rush?
