Ayoub (a career criminal) violently resisted arrest and had hold of the officers taser and wouldn't release it. Encouraging a world were officers can't defend themselves is ridiculous.

The tazer wasn't being pointed at anyone, the tazer was trapped under Patrick's body and the officer had Patrick's body pinned to the ground. In that position Patrick couldn't turn around and fire the tazer at the officer... Patrick wasn't aggressively attacking the officer, no punches were thrown. This and other points are what I'm looking forward to understanding better during trial. (Hopefully we'll have some sort of access to trial info.) Can we stop the first name basis routine? His name is Lyoya. Watching the entirety of the videos, it's pretty apparent that the suspect, Mr. Lyoya, was not going to remain "pinned" for very long. Moreover, all it takes is for him to place the taser against the body of Officer Schurr and it becomes a stun gun, disabling Schurr and allowing the suspect to take his service revolver and possibly his life. Officer Schurr was in a position of danger, especially considering Mr. Lyoya was not alone. He had a right to defend himself. And just like the disagreement you see here on TH-cam, I can't see 12 jurors agreeing on a conviction.
