@@Roboprogs I agree, The piano is a sterile, cold instrument. There are some people who can make it sing but it’s nothing like the warm brilliance of a Rhodes

I've owned two Rhodes pianos in my lifetime. They are indeed superb instruments, but I found as I got older, lifting them in and out of venues was getting to be impossible. So I went for the practical option. Now with keyboards offering Rhodes sounds as part of their ranges, I'm settled with a great machine that sounds and feels like a Rhodes. But, oh my oh my, if I had the money and enough life left, I'd sell my wife and kids into slavery to own a MK 8. They are beautiful. Exquisite even. AND....Made in Leeds, Yorkshire. I went to music college in Leeds in 73 to 76.
Long may the Rhodes live. Chick Corea would have loved one of these.

I'm not sure what to make of it, from the online demo's I've heard, it's a bit too controlled for my liking.. even a tad anemic.. but I'm also partial to the MKI style Rhodes.. The Vintage Vibe Pianos sound more to my liking there's a rawness there that was present with the original that's a bit absent here. I want to like it as it's a new Rhodes!

    • @etpslick100

@@koyaanisqatsi78 The Vintage Vibe and the Chicago Electric Piano models do have some rawness to them. I just like how they (Rhodes) went back to the original look. The preamp can be change with your own personal effects but a nice addition. My favorite is the Rhodes MK V. Chick Corea and John Novello really made them shine.
