You do not need to cut the BIB tubing when replacing the flojet pump. That black piece pops out just the same as the outlet fitting.

In my opinion shurflo pumps are inferior pump to flojets. The seals on shurflo more often fail then flojets.

One is a lot cheaper than the other .. Flojet much more affordable .. and can last 20 years plus ..or at least the older ones did ..
