I've always adored this song - as a lovelorn 18 year old college student, the lyrics really spoke to me. At the time I had endured a nightmare couple of years after coming out as gay, being horrendously bullied and kicked out by my family. I was very lonely and had never been in a relationship - so I used to just silently look at certain boys and wish I could snap my fingers and make them fall in love with me. This was probably the first 'love song' that truly spoke to me - it sounded like it was being sang by someone in my position. It still gives me goosebumps 20 years later. Thank you to Matt and his wife for creating it!
I just can't get enough of this song, can't believe it's been 18 years since it came out. And this video in particular is just amazing and trippy. At some point we've all been in this situation, infatuated by someone from a distance, and hoping there was a magical way to get into that person's life and make them notice you. And you know that if that ever happened, you could make that person fall in love with you. This one really hits home.
