There are other ways to tell when a profile is fake. When they only have 2 or 3 pics or they don't update frequently enough to show they are real or that their stories such as having kids don't actually match what they post, then they couldn't possibly be real.

Society places a huge amount of pressure on people to look a certain way so it's understandable that some people feel inadequate or ugly since they don't meet those standards

Everyone has a need to be accepted. These people are screaming for acceptance. I agree it is the wrong way to go about it but I feel part of them feel that they can really pretend to be like through catfishing! It is sad!

I'm in NO way defending these catfishes but in today's society where we where we prioritize people's looks and appearance over ANYTHING causes people who didn't meet beauty standards to either drastically change their looks (through cosmetic procedures & expensive clothes that requires lots of money, which apparently these people don't have) OR pretending to be someone else, and these people are doing the latter

You can’t diagnose people with a mental disorder from a 21 minute clip. They’re all actors and these are all fake situations created for entertainment. The fact that you think this show is real speaks volumes.

Just a word of advice: If you trying to find love on the internet
1) Do some research (because you don’t know if these people just got out of prison ..a danger to society etc..etc)
2) Don’t send a complete stranger money
3) If you do meet him or her make sure you bring someone with you.
4) If it’s too good to be true then it’s probably isn’t True
5) Don’t give a person to much information only for them to use it against you.
Some of these people need real help and you’ll never know until it’s too late. Be safe out there.

I can understand why max left, on a personal level. It probably becomes mentally taxing and draining chasing down some of these people... that destroy people, that just want to find love. Some of these folks out here have no heart, no soul and are aware of it and enjoy doing this. Its really sad
