- Apollo has been absolutely obsessed with cans since he was a baby, we let him play with some a little bit today.

My Macaw loves to get on top of the pantry door and throw cans from the racks on top. We had to put empty ones cus he started to break stuff he threw cans at. I think parrots just love throwing cans around

Probably. One of my greys can open soda cans. He figured it out on his own. He'll either pop them open where they're supposed to be opened or simply puncture them open from the side or bottom. It's not as useful a trick as one might think.

But I don't want to imagine how much of a mess opening it by puncture would make... soda everywhere lol.
Reminds me of my late grandpa who, at the end of his life, had not much strenght sadly, and would literally slay a hole in the jar's lid with a knife in order to open it... and then put the lid back whitout covering the hole. We had some unpleasant surprises, especially once with a jar of fish soup in the car... the stench took days to leave lol
Yeah but never the right way. He'll either just take the tab off entirely or bite a hole wherever he can leverage it. I guess we could train him to, but no beverage would be safe.
