2046. A classic Gong Li performance Directed by Wong Kar-wai. Gong Li plays a gambling Card Shark named the Black Spider. Tony Leung who plays Chiu Wai, a Book Writer, works on his novel called 2046 while involved in various love affairs. Gong Li, the Black Spider Card Shark, helps him win back money he lost at gambling so he can afford to go back to Hong Kong.
Director Wong Kar-wai made a film in the year 2000 called 'In The Mood For Love'. The two films are connected in several ways. One example is in 'In The Mood For Love' a couple met in a room with the door number 2046. Four years later, Wong Kar-wai made this continuum film and named it 2046. As a viewer noted in the Comments, this is actually the 3rd film in the Trilogy, the first being Days Of Being Wild.
