Officer! That man! (pointing). He said he wants to see my Rooster! 😁 I'm not picking on the builder or his layout in particular, but something about locomotive sound always seems off to me; like it's too loud for the scene, or the distance between the operator and the locos (yes I hear idling and moving diesels in the rail yard only 2 blocks from my house, but it's more muted). Or lacking the size of real locomotives the sound somehow makes the trains oddly more toylike. I've never quite figured it out (gee, really, ya think?!).
Will be pleased to watch your progress on scenery, buildings etc. On small layouts , I find it best to have cars that are a max of being 50’ cars (except for an occasional bulkhead flat or center beam flat that is about 60’ long) that makes the layout seem larger.
Thank you for the kind feedback. I think you will find the video I’ll be posting in a few days follows your advice and showcases progress I’ve made. Looking forward to your thoughts!
@@SouthDown The only other thing I would do is make the backdrop about 24” high. The small museum type opening is fine, but I think you miss something that way when viewing and filming. I know, unsolicited opinion given - for what it is worth.
@@SouthDown I did try to send an email with 4 shots attached. I don’t know if you got it, but if so let me know. If not, I will try again and breaking into 2 separate emails.
Cock-a-doodle-do! That was great. Love the gimmicky narration. Lol. You even ran your Santa Fe for me. I never noticed the custom road name work you did, nice touch.
I certainly hope they also make HO scale guano, so I can smear it down the side of the whichever building they'll decide to perch on! Thanks for the reply!
I'm slowly getting the hang of the shelf layout theme, and your suggestions have been quite helpful. Your work is incredibly neat, and you put a lot of effort into getting a good picture and sound.
You’re very kind with your generous feedback. I try to put on a good show but the suggestions are from Lance. I’ve only been following his advice. I’m looking forward to showing the demise of the black and green engine and the paved surfaces and structures that have since been rolled out.
Thanks! It's funny looking back at this video, which isn't that old at the time of writing this, yet nothing now looks like it. The green and black engine is now weathered. There are two more buildings. There is a road and three additional paved surfaces. The white is gone and while some wood is still visible, a good portion has already disappeared behind soil, gravel, grass. I started enjoying, inch by inch, the process of ballasting. The performance of the engines remains the same but acting out on a stage that more resembles their ideal setting makes it even more poignant and present. Thanks for your feedback!
Bahahah! I appreciate that! I am looking forward in showing off the next two consists. One more model to convert and the GP9 blew its second decoder. Oh, Athearn Genesis...
Thank you! It's actually funny that by the time this video went out so much more has happened on the layout. The warehouse grew, another warehouse popped up, a road is done, the team track is in place. Perhaps I'll showcase at the next switching video.
Some big compliments coming from someone of your calibre and experience! Top shelf decoders these days really deliver, especially when paired with the best speaker you can fit.
Fantastic operation looks great thanks for sharing with us 😎🚂
Glad you enjoyed it! It's quite flattering to have someone of your calibre like my work!
@@SouthDown we all have fun doing what we enjoy modelling railroads.

I appreciate the experience. I’m currently at 40 cm high or about 16 inches. This usually works well with my height or when I sit with a stool.
Would love to hear more about your reasoning. If you have email:

Tangent have recently released HO-scale pigeons that you could use in lieu of a rooster.

Great video. And nice rooster, I mean roster.

Sweet sound indeed. Very nicely done and great fleet of loco and cars. Excellent performance and great sound. Well done i
As always, the feedback of an expert veteran of model railroading is always an honour on my channel! Thank you!
Knowing Mark, he really meant Rooster 🐔😊…new to the channel…cool switching Ops
Nice to meet you! And he probably did. :)
Nice locomotives and layout.

I think Mark is the Rooster but you have a roster , fantasy video
Fantasy? I’ll take Barbie riding a unicorn if she rolls down the tracks without hesitation.
Great switching friend.
Thank you for watching AND for taking the time to provide feedback! Happy you enjoyed!
Very cool 👍🤠👍
Thank you for your feedback!
Was the sounds dubbed in, or was that from the sound decodes?
All sound is from the decoders.
