I also have a Rollei A110. What a beautiful, compact and precision camera and lens. Sort of a 110-format version of the Minox spy camera. BTW, the optically coated Albada viewfinder is excellent. As I recall, the shutter timed out to several seconds, letting me get otherwise unavailable night shots. I’ve taken stunning 110-format slides with this camera. I could hardly believe how sharp they were. The perfect vacation camera.
Back when I was a kid my dad's mom would always have a film camera. Then she would just take photos. My grandmother wouldn't care about how good the photos are as far as composition or role of thirds she just wanted to take photos of stuff. Then she went to like Walgreens 24-hour film or whatever back in the day and she had them developed. They were expensive back in the day to have them done they were like 30 bucks. For each rule they were like 30 bucks. The best camera I ever had I bought on eBay for $450 which is a lot of money. Nikon D3. Best camera I ever had.
Great video, I'm thinking of picking one up. I have a Pentax Auto 110 Super and several Agfa 110 cameras. I really enjoy 110 because of the simplicity and the small camera size.
Thanks for the vid. I’ve had a hold of my dad’s a110 for a minute. I was surprised to see photos of people in masks. I assumed this vid was old. Btw, do you know of a camera repair shop? I think the spring to the lens cover is loose/weak on my a110. The lens isn’t covered completely. Thanks again for the vid!
Thanks for watching the video and taking the time to comment! I unfortunately don’t know of any repair shop that does 110 film cameras. I have another a110 with the same issue, sorry about that!
Thanks for this video. I'm looking forward to your video on the Canon 110ED. I have a 110ED 20 with a broken "lens cover door" (not sure what it's called) that I'm trying to fix.
Thanks for watching! That little lens cover is weird because it also enables the shutter to shoot. Broken door can mean issues, but I’ve seen them work like that too! Always shooting for the next video!
@@AimShootDevelop Yeah, that's the problem. I can get the shutter to fire by prying the lever that would normally be pried when opening the lens cover, but it makes shooting difficult. I don't want to just wedge it somewhat permanently because I think that would drain the battery. I'm thinking about buying a broken donor camera with a working lens cover, but haven't found a cheap one yet.
The advance. German engineering, am I right. I just found my dads again after many years. This one says made in Germany & it has the curved mirror glass for selfies. Possible they made the switch before being made on Singapore. Also. Good forethought for taking selfie’s or was that guy a time traveler & knew something?
It does in its own way, I believe 110 film has a notch system that tells the camera what kinda film it is. I haven’t shot 110 in a long while but I believe this to be true.
Hello! i really need one of these! but i have a question for you, i read that it can handle 64-100 iso and 400 iso. You used a 200iso film, have You experienced and overexpose?
@@AimShootDevelop hello! finally my camera arrived! there is an old mercury battery and when i push the green button, i see a stable green light, in every condition (also low light). I don't know if it is a battery problems so, can I ask you if the lightmeeter test work only when film is loaded or if a put in a brand new battery i can check if all works correctly?
Hey! I just picked up an old used Rollei A110. I don't have a green focus indicator inside the viewfinder. Can you tell me which direction I need to move the orange focus tab to be in infinity focus? I know it sounds silly, but depending on how the mechanics work I can't assume it's the same direction as the viewfinder diagram! Thanks in advance
Hello and thanks for reaching out, the green light is a light meter, i mis spoke on the video, To be in infinity focus it needs to be to the far right it should have a little diagram on the bottom of the viewfinder. If you have the camera to your face, the closest focus is all the way to the left, infinity is to the far right! Hope this helps!
@@AimShootDevelop Thanks so much. In the focus diagram I don't have an indicator of the focus position, I see that the camera should have a little tab in the focus diagram that moves when you focus. Mine is missing, the camera is well worn, so I have to guess and without the indication I didn't want to assume which direction on my first roll! Thanks for your help
@@Naman754 Thats gonna be a tough one, I genuinely don’t know on that one because of the compact size, something could have jogged loose and is blocking the path, the charm is it’s compact size but it’s also a curse when trying to troubleshoot it
He;s got almost all of the top end 110 cameras. Needs to add a Minox 110S with the matching flash and both in their custom alligator leather cases. Unhappily, decent 110 films went away long ago, and the 110 film on the market today is so poor that you'll probably never actually use th cameras.
Just wanted to say this is a great review of what this camera can do and the results that you can achieve by using it. Well done sir. I have both this and the Pentax 110 but find myself, nearly always, choosing the Rollei, simply because of its size and to be honest, its weight and sturdy build is more pleasurable for me to use. Last year I entered a local 48 film competition produced using this camera. Needless to say I was the only entrant who submitted a film, shot on film th-cam.com/video/OBq4xcpi5RE/w-d-xo.html. I have just ordered a roll of LomoChrome Metropolis 110 film to test in this camera and I am off to the fairground later this week. Great channel, lovely to see your passion for analogue photography and great to see you inspiring others to do the same. Kind regards from the UK.
First, really appreciate you for taking the time to comment! I watched the video you submitted and the images are fantastic! 110 film does have a very nice level of charm to it! Im always making more content like this and it’s comments like this that push me to continue! Really appreciate it! ☺️👍🏽
I love the look of 110/16mm film SO much!

It’s a great camera, had a good time using it and a easy time carrying it around! Haha
You have a favorite of your 110 cameras?
hi! where did you find a battery for this camera? did you find it on amazon? great video btw :)
Thank you! I bought mine off eBay but I’m sure it’s also available on Amazon, the exact battery is in the description if you need it! Thank you 😊
Do you not need flash?
I’m worried the photos are gonna look bad

Cheers dude - really useful review. Will load it up and go take some shots :) I also had no idea about the pentax so will check it out as well.
Thank you! The Pentax is equally as great and just as fun! Glad you enjoyed it 😎
Great review!
Thanks Man!
I picked one up at an auction on Monday! 🙂
Great little camera! Hope you enjoy it 🙏🏽
