However badly people may think the book "script" is, the live play and the production in it is just so amazingly done and unbelievable! and that's all i can say #keepthesecret
it was incredibly done. they way they put everything that seemed impossible to do into the play was extraordinary! and don’t get me started on the “writing” in one of the scenes!!! #keepthesecret
Opera88 Just curious, did your opinion on the play change when you actually saw the show? I’ve met so many people, including myself, that really disliked the play (in script form) and then had my mind blown when I watched it in the theatre
Justin Winick: It was like night and day. The script/book was just an abstract concept and the play made it become concrete. It was profoundly life-changing. The theater itself, physically, became part of the story. The choreography, the techies, the actors... everything combined was the perfect combination! I was weeping profusely by the end. I'm saving up to again next year!
I agree!! I wasn’t the biggest fan after just reading the script, but everything changed dramatically after seeing the show. I saw a Broadway preview and it was one of the most phenomenal experiences ever! (And my friend Brooklyn is in it, which made it even cooler for me lol)
Saw him in the West End previews and he was the most accurate Harry Potter, probably more true to the texts than the Dan Radcliffe version. Absolutely loved him.
Most accurate Harry Potter? I've not watched the play nor read the script book yet, but I've found out from other people that Harry mistreats his son pretty badly somewhere in the story. This is completely out of character for Harry, seeing as he himself was harshly mistreated by the Dursleys, it makes no sense that Harry wouldn't rise above that. I speak from the same position myself. I was abused at home as a child, but as a parent in the future I'll be decent, I'll be loving and caring all the time not just some of it, and I would expect the same from Harry Potter. I mean, I've even read that at some point it gets so bad that Harry is so disappointed in Albus that he says "You're no son of mine". Sorry, but there's no way that this Harry Potter is canon. It's a complete 180 on character developement, there's literally nothing more that screams "out of character" than Harry being a terrible father.
@I am Captain Chris "Who said it's canon bruh" I was addressing the OP. The OP (Niki V) claimed that this Harry Potter actor was the most accurate Harry and more true to the texts than Dan Radcliffe.
The script is amazing, the play is phenomenal and the cast is absolutely breathtaking. Jamie is the closest to book Harry I have seen and certainly a better and more accurate Harry than Radcliffe. Jamie embodies Harry James Potter and he is so charming and talented ❤️. Cursed child is such a wonderful thing to happen to HP and I couldn’t care less about the haters. I‘m happy it exists, it’s that super successful and the cast is enjoying it that much 😊. We need more of the cast on television! #cursedchildfanandproud
Closest to book Harry? More accurate? Are you serious? I've not watched the play nor read the script book yet, but I've found out from other people that Harry mistreats his son pretty badly somewhere in the story. This is completely out of character for Harry, seeing as he himself was harshly mistreated by the Dursleys, it makes no sense that Harry wouldn't rise above that. Just saw the play. So cool! Jamie was brilliant. It really does feel like a fanfiction rather than an actual canon addition to the HP universe, and I'm okay with that. I will say if you've only read the script it doesn't do the play justice. Once in a lifetime experience that I highly recommend if you get the chance.
I had the wonderful opportunity of seeing the play!!! Completely last minute thing (got the tickets at the door 20 minutes before it started) and ended up in the 7th row!! I was hesitant at first but I think it’s better to experience it at the theater than in the book. Which is weird to say because I always prefer the book over the adaptation.
When you create something legendary and then change the faces of the people who influenced us the most in our childhood, we cannot wipe away the previous people from our minds. Same is with Harry Potter, nice as the cast may be...they will never take the place of the original cast that played in the movies
Ahh, Cursed Child. It really is a fun piece of fanfiction. I only wish it had felt more like the authors had read the books and let Jo write more of it rather than just giving her a credit.
Russopuffus how so? They clearly specified the time turner was modernized and completely different from the ones they use in the PoA. You have to remember there was 20+ years in between the two books
Jamie said he knew Daniel before. Did they meet through Richard? Because that makes me a tiny bit sad, you know he would've told Richard when he got the part, but he couldn't
Fandomsarelife I had the same reaction when I first read it. Then I saw it and completely changed my mind. I really recommend seeing it, because, unlike when you’re reading it, it does really feel like Harry Potter. The entire production, from the actors to the set design and the special effects completes and makes the experience truly magical!
this is wrong u can't do that danniel radcliffe is the best and have u seen hermione granger she is a idiot in front of emma watson i mean new hermione granger

I've been hearing this for a while and accidentally saw some clips from TH-cam and I really wish I could see it. Too bad I live in Asia lol.
WHEN HE CORRECTED HIS PRONUNCIATION OF LEVIOSA I SCREAMED FOR 10 WHOLE MINUTES

BRING ANTHONY ONNNN PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE AND SAM WE WANT THEM - im fan girling to hard
I’ve admired Jamie’s work for a few years now, and I’m so thrilled to see him getting the attention he deserves. Such a delightful and talented man!
He seems delightful!
I saw Cursed Child on Preview Night! ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR! #KeepTheSecrets

Justin Winick Saw it in London in the first year, and it was exactly like that for me!
SO did I, previews in NY and 2nd week in london

Fizzing Whizbees! Haha, reference to a sweet in Harry Potter 😂
Lmao of course Jimmy didn't catch the reference there at the end.
i don’t think jimmy understood many of the references but i loved every bit of this 😍
I’ve been waiting for a talk show to get him on...FINALLY
I couldn’t place Jamie Parker, then realized that I’d seen him in The History Boys 😫

THIS PLAY IS THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN

Wtf kind of blasphemy was that?? Daniel Radcliffe IS Harry Potter.. Jamie is really good and does the character justice..but Daniel IS Harry Potter!!!
Tom Skywalker James Snyder did a perfect Harry Potter and the broadway show.

Is they ever make cursed child movie they should take only Daniel Radcliffe for that
Dan was ,is and will be the perfect Harry forever

Brandon Rankin and it completely destroys the time turner continuity
Russopuffus how so? They clearly specified the time turner was modernized and completely different from the ones they use in the PoA. You have to remember there was 20+ years in between the two books
Thank you for reiterating this. Too many people don't get that. Act One Scene Five has answers.

Cursed Child doesn't exist in my Harry Potter world. But I like this guy.
There's a new movie? Oh a play...
Gordon Hu give it a few years and they'll make it a movie
pero por que Hermione es negra???
I love harry potter but cursed child was kind of disappointing
But that is why it is disappointing, much the same way with Star Wars fans, the new movies will never be good enough for people.
but have you seen it in theatre? The script doesn't do it justice...
Vitasta Raina I haven't I just read the script. It just doesn't feel like it belongs in the hp universe
Fandomsarelife I had the same reaction when I first read it. Then I saw it and completely changed my mind.
