I agreed it was given a name from a badass muscle car from the 60s and 70s. This felt kind off what GM did in the 80s when they got a rebadged Toyota Corolla and called it the Nova.
I was looking forward to the Dart SRT4. It would have been an excellent competitor to the Lancer Evo, Focus STI, and WRX. When I read the news about the 300+hp HO Turbo 4 with AWD, I was syked to start seeing them.
azoreanblade2, if any existing Chrysler V6 would've fitted there it'd be the NA-3.2L Pentastar from the Jeep Cherokee (that crossover is based on the same Alfa Gulietta-based platform as the Dart, but wonder if it had enough room up front to offer it w/a full warranty).
Jeff Sadowski, although the last gen 200 was made on that same Giulietta platform as the Cherokee and Dart, the 200 is longer and lower than the Dart. Still wonder if they could've had the proper clearance space in the hood to avoid cooling issues for either Pentastar...
My friend that I worked with, had a really nice Dart R/T. He lowered it, put on some nice wheels, and painted the brake calipers. He then put on a carbon hood, universal carbon front splitter and truck spoiler. He got on eBay and bought some SRT4 badges. It legit looked like a factory car, and people asked him if it was a Dart SRT4. It had just enough aftermarket to look different, but wasn't that flashy. He actually won second place at our local car show. It was entered in "stock class" and it fooled everyone lol I still love and miss that car.
man... imagine if they waited just a couple years. Would loved to see a SRT model with a turbo on the 2.4L. Not to mention a better transmission and not the Chinese c635 manual
True .. dodge just rushed this into production. I want to like this car. Like the style and interior . Plus a manual! but the biggest flaw is it’s underpowered and overweight .for this class .3,200lbs is 700 more than the same 1.4 turbo abarth. And the 2.4 has a steady powerband but is underwhelming and doesn’t have much aftermarket support. Wish they threw the turbo on the 2.4 or the more reliable 2.0. Since the 2.4 chugs oil
Sad to see this and other cars gone and all these little CUV’s and SUV’s out today. I guess the manufacturers think we’re all soccer moms. Nice video! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
Some of these parts did make it. The mopar CAI, and a mopar CAI to work with the sport hood scoop. The 18" lightweight wheels, mopar cat back exhaust, mopar adjustable sway bars, mopar adjustable coil-overs, big brake kit(for the bigger rims)
To Marspeed... I believe the TigerShark DIDN'T REPLACE THE WORLD ENGINE. When that Chrysler / Mitsubishi/ Hyundai JV dissolved each manufacturer took those blueprints and made the engine their own, starting with 2G (updated, but still w/port-fuel injection), which is what the TigerShark is (it did went as a 2.5G w/still another update but not on the FI). FYI, the World Engine came in 3 sizes: 1.8L, 2.0L and 2.4L. Only Hyundai / Kia and now FCA w/the Hurricane came into 3G of the World Engine design w/the addition of direct injection (both H/K and FCA have put turbocharging as an option on their W/E 3G's).
The carbon fire 😍🖤😍🖤 the 210 is quite nice, scat pack looked nice and beastly and the RT concepts color was nice and the GLH 😍..too bad these cars start falling apart shortly.
If they just committed to the performance models, I think the enthusiasts would be able to keep the dart alive on their own. It would have been a real competitor to the si and sts
Hey Mars I tried reaching you on Instagram but didn't get a response so I'm putting the question about my problem here; I've the same car as yours 2009 3.5 RWD lately I've had a problem that isn't getting diagnosed, in the morning g upon cold start the car start then stalls and then starts its self again also when I drive if I press the accelerator half way the power cuts off and then comes back on again and starts running this happens for the first 5 minutes of driving then the car becomes normal and is not as bad for the rest of the day running. I've even changed the fuel pumps plus throttle body but still the problem persists and I've run out of options theres no check engine or any other lights on. I've been on your TH-cam channel eve since posted the throttle calibration video I'll appreciate any help about my cars problem I'm almost at the point that of sell it off if this problem don't get fixed
I defiantly would have purchased any of theses models if the GLH had a scat pac with more power it could compete with the Subaru STI and I know I would've bought it.
I know it would have taken off if they'd released the SRT4. To bad. What a drag. We have a 2015 Dart, and a 2017 Challenger T/A 392. I'd trade the Dart for a GLH right now if they turned it out with that turbo hurricane engine. Since that's not an option, looking at Jeep's now. Maybe a Charger. We'll see.
Was wondering what happened to theses little buggers! I remember back about 3 years ago we used to always see the commercials for them with the "Don't touch my Dart" jingle lmao. I'm not a compact car guy and haven't driven once since I got rid of my Dodge Neon SXT yeeeears ago, but I like them and if I was gonna get a smaller car it would've been one of these! I wanted one for my 16 year old daughter but we decided to go with a 2003 Chevy Cavalier LS with only 80,000 miles on the dash no rust just needed new suspension components and breaks!
Is this video still active, if so I have a question or two or maybe even more... Does anybody know the name and dimensions of the Dart's Rims at 7:07-7:11, the 2014 Dodge Dart Scat Package #4 and or the Dart after the Scat Package #4 one??? I'm actually looking for some rims similar to those rims for my Dodge Dart SXT 2015 and or where I may find some?? Oh and where could I get some custom inexpensive body parts?
Hey man honestly I’m not 100% sure but for the Scat Package there are rims that all the newer Charger and Challenger scat packs come with, kind of like a matte black color and the same spoke design. They are 20x9 inch rims but I’m sure they also make replicas as well. Just not sure of the name
I dont care, I wouldve gotten the GLH model. It really wasnt meant for that much power, its not a Charger or Challenger. I basically got my Dart GT Sport for looks because I love the cosmetic lines and it looks so sleek for what it is. It looks even better on coilovers with the ducktail wing and blacked out windows. God I love my Dart !!!
Considering that the stage 3 original SRT had 365 horsepower and torque, absolutely up to par for the Focus ST, the original SRT in stock form would rape an RS
The Dart was the biggest compact car. Which made it overweight. Even though it was as fast as the other competitors in the class, it didn't 'walk the talk' and didn't really have the speed and sport it portrayed being a Dodge. Because it was too big.
wiibaron it was not “way bigger” than those. The civic had more interior volume and seating comfort. The dart may have the largest chassis but it’s the smallest on the inside and uncomfortable for 4 adults
Such a Damn good looking car too!!Unfortunately lately most people or so just want something that they can connect a damn cell phone too and want too much aesthetics over functionality and reliability!I could give a rats ass about any damn radio or phone connectivity, gimme nothing but displacement, torque,a comfy seat and reliable with minimal maintenance.People are so Shallow.this car did have Many flaws,It just sucks it didn't live up to its previous Neon counterpart.
The real reason this shit box failed is because it's a European designed neon. In 2013 the sxt had multiple engine and computer failures, including the flawed touch screen control flat out not working. Dodge really should've took they're time, and put higher quality equipment parts in. It looks fine, but calling it a dart was foolish. It should've been an import destroyer, instead, its basically a girl car.
Actually, Toyota has been doing the same thing lately--taking a platform, and making adjustments based on the model needs. Nothing wrong with that. Just ensure that you differentiate them properly.

Dart could've been amazing if they would've made sure it was cut and finished properly instead of rushing it.
They should’ve made the dart how they did the old school ones basically a charger or challenger just smaller and still able to hold a v8

Still upset on how Dodge messed up that bad on this car.
I wish they made a Dart coupe like the Honda Civic Coupe, they really dropped the ball with this model
It would have sold like hot cakes if they just named it the Neon.
TBH, thats a true statement. It was the neon we shouldve got back in the mid-90s and forward
No hate toward Dart 😡.

There’s already a neon in Mexico somewhere
