  • This is a 12 x 10 apex garden shed has been erected onto a heavy duty floor frame which is suitable for putting onto Ecobase. We only supply the genuine ecobase, there are a lot of cheap copy products on the market but the original Ecobase is, in our opinion, still the best.
This shed has been clad with our 12mm (ex16mm) finished thickness Tongue and Grooved timber.
    Framework - 63mm x 38mm C16 dry graded
Cladding - 12mm finished thickness redwood pine, tongue and grooved
Floor - 18mm exterior graded plywood over 95mm x 45mm Spaxbolted fully framed floor
Roof - - 12mm finished thickness redwood pine, tongue and grooved. Felted over with 2kg per square meter polyester based green mineral felt. All the edges of the roof are rounded over for stress relief. The roof is supported by a 45mm x 95mm ridge beam to ensure the roof does not sag over time.
Glazing - 2mm horticultural glass secured with rebated battens and sealed at the bottom edge with CT1
This shed has been treated with Barrettines Protect and Nourish penetrating spirit based timber treatment.

That looks great. How is the shed anchored?

Hi, the shed is a free standing structure. It isn't anchored down and doesn't need to be. I don't know of any manufacturer that anchors its sheds.

    This shed looks very good👌🏿
I need a new office shed.
How much would it cost for one of these?

Like the shed, especially the relieved eaves detail & 4”x2” ridge, but that ecobase looks a bit dodgy without the usual gravel filling inbetween the plastic grid & with plastic sheet below.

A shed will always rot from the floor upwards as when it rains, the rainwater sits against the timber. When wood is under pressure it takes on water a lot easier so the floor timbers rot first. By using the ecobase it doesn't just create a damp barrier but also lifts the floor off of the base and promotes airflow around the floor joists. It prolongs the life of the shed.
If the ecobase is being laid directly onto soil then you're right, there should be a semi-permeable membrane (definitely NOT plastic sheet) under it and the tiles should be filled with gravel. We also advise that when an ecotile base is used you should also put down a sturdy floor frame to tie it all together properly.

It's a great work shed. We don't fit security screws as standard but that can be done. Alternatively we could use the same continuous hinges as we use on the Tuck-Shop shed.
