- An advertisement for the Xerox 9200 copy machine in which a monk is shown painstakingly duplicating a manuscript by hand. When he is ordered to produce 500 more copies of the manuscript, the monk takes the page to a copy store, where an of screen narrator describes the features of the Xerox copier. One of the winners of the 1976 Clio Awards.

Brother Dominic's face change as he turns away after being told "500 more sets." at 00:33 is absolutely awesome. I always loved this one as wee child because of that!
The commercial won a Cleo Award for 1976.
yep! says that in the description & totally deserving. and ads in 1970's & 80's many of them used to be so clever! so much so that I was inspired & considered a career as an advertisement copywriter. I even joined the ad club at college.🏫
but these days most ads aren't that clever. and the Superbowl🏈 ads get more expensive every year but imho anyway, they don't all seem to be as good anymore.
even when I didn't attend a Superbowl party [which I'm not really into sports but it's always fun to be with friends & family at one and the food is *always* good] I'd *at least* go online to watch them.
but the past most recent years we're lucky if even half of them are smartly written, such a bummer.😐
I now remember seeing that add on TV. Was too young of a kid to appreciate it.
6 weeks of training for new hire in 1979, Leesburg was a quiet place then.
omg!, the monk & the Gregorian chants, DEAD!,LoLz!😄
I couldn't stop laughing, hahahaha!🤣
Richmeister: "Brother Dominick! Makin copies! The man in the brown dress!"
2 pages per second, that would drive most of today's society of instant gratification insane.I work as a copier technician, many customers take for granted all the features and technology behind their copiers/printers compared to these old units.
Friar Fredric: " It's a miracle."
Bro Dominic looks up: "Don't you say a darned word about it."
Him: "I swear to.... Well you get the idea!"
Who's playing brother Dominic?
That's Jack Eagle, an actor-comedian. You may know his son Ian, who has done NFL, NBA and college basketball for CBS, Turner Sports and the Brooklyn Nets.
