I watched this video through once. Went back and made a note of the socket sizes, and the setting for the torque wrench. Then I gathered up my tools and went to work on my 98 Chevy C2500. Got the old one out in under an hour. Was losing light and had started out tired, so then I just couldn't get the second bolt started. Gave up, waited until the next day. Went out and took it back off, cleaned the bolts and gasket surfaces and put fresh ATV on, and in 40 minutes had it all back together. This was the BEST instructional video I've seen. No stupid music, no goofy effects, no extra yammering about unrelated. Good lighting, good views. I never needed to go back to refer to the video to see what to do next, because it all made sense the first time. Thank you so much, Midwest Garage!

I have a 1995 - GMC Suburban 454 with only 50K miles, a gem! You answered my question right away! I had just changed a hose from the power brake assist to the steering reservoir, all sat, no leaks detected. Next morning I see a spot under the passenger side and scratch my head. Crawl under and see that it is coolant dripping along the bottom hose. I knew there must be a weep hole, but I didn't see it. I watched a couple videos and I think yours was the 3rd from the top. I am going to knock this out and find a hill where I can burb it and not worry about what comes out. I appreciate you, I subscribed and will check out your vids, Wado.

    Great video.
One thing that I would do, is replace that top idler as soon as it shows any play.
I was on I-25, in the middle of nowhere between Pueblo and Colorado Springs when mine came apart. Incredibly there was a ranch exit and I got off the freeway, because as you can imagine, the engine was dead and no power steering, nothing.
Someone brought me a new unit.
So now, I carry a spare bearing and as well, an entire unit I can screw on.
That happened at about 50,000, and now I have almost 300,000 on the truck, and it's never happened again.
    Of course.

I installed a new thermostat and radiator in my 95 5.7 but it is still over heating. Tried flushing with water but truck was sitting so long that sediment back out of heater core.
Drove for 5 minutes and was almost to the red on temperature.
No coolant on passenger floor but coolant is circulating. Do you think it's a bad heater core or a bad water pump?

Thanks my guy. I really appreciate it. I recently bought a 00 obs tahoe z71 and the radiator cracked. I was going thru everything and figured that if I’m replacing half the cooling system I might as well just replace all of it. I bought the chilton manual but for fucks sake they make everything so freaking ambiguous in there. They don’t tell you what the RTV is for.. you did (the bolts - not knowing that or why the bolts would’ve been wet and this being my first 5.7 I would’ve shit my pants thinking something was fucked), the screwdriver tip for the 4 bolts, etc. like dude. That was insanely clutch information that seriously saved my ass. You’re the man my dude. Seriously!
