Since I was born in 2005, I only got to experience only 3 years and 5 months of the Old Nickelodeon (1984-2009) before it was unfortunately renewed. I really miss Nick’s glory days. To be honest, I might be one of the only people from Generation Z to care THIS much. I would bet around 99% of kids today would NOT understand! If you grew up to Nickelodeon during this time period, you were VERY LUCKY! I loved all the shows that aired in the 90’s, especially the classic SpongeBob & CatDog. I wish that we could have the Splat back! :(
There used to be a commercial that aired all the time, I think it was on Nickelodeon around 1998-2000. The commercial had this kid up in his room looking over to his neighbors window, he said something about the "world out there,: You could vaguely see something moving near the bottom of the window of his neighbor's house. The commercial had a wicked strange vibe but it played all the time at night. There was another commercial where they showed inside the neighbor's house and they were these brain looking creatures. The second one I only remember seeing once. I know I didn't dream the first because it aired all the time.

I’ll be honest, Nickelodeon is doing MUCH better right now than they were 5 years ago. And a hell of a lot better than Cartoon Network too, that’s for sure. I mean, look at what they’re doing. Spongebob has been good again for over 2-3 years, they’ve canceled some of their worst shows like Breadwinners, Sanjay and Craig and Rabbids Invasion, they’ve finally gotten rid of Fairly OddParents after the show had gotten completely downhill, they’re doing great with their reboots/revivals with the Legends of the Hidden Temple reboot, Hey Arnold: Jungle Movie and the new Double Dare (with some other great reboots/revivals in the works like an All That reboot with both new and old cast members alike, Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling, Blue’s Clues & You with a new host that came from Broadway, Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus, a Live Action theatrical Dora the Explorer Film, a possible Clarissa Explains it All revival about Clarissa as an adult, a Rugrats revival along with a Live Action/Animated Hybrid Film (though this one I’m nervous about) and a limited Are You Afraid of the Dark? revival that will coincide with a theatrical Are You Afraid of the Dark? Film) and they’ve got some other good shows too like The Loud House, Hunter Street, I Am Frankie, Keep It Spotless and PAW Patrol.
