The Disney Channel-Mickey Mouse ID Bumpers (1980's-1990's): The Complete Collection*

- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 6 ก.พ. 2025
- Back in the days when The Disney Channel would constantly air non-Disney movies & TV specials and TV shows from other countries like the UK and Canada, they would have these bumpers with Mickey Mouse in them, except you don't see Mickey's face; you only see his hands and arms. Eventually, we'd see something that would take shape in the form of the channel's logo at the time.
AFAIK, all these bumpers were produced by Colossal Pictures.
(*=I'm not entirely sure if this video has all these bumpers made. This video just has all the ones I could find through various Disney Channel recordings on TH-cam. If anyone knows if I missed any, let me know in the comments section.)

This was so amazing back then! They bring me back the memories growing up!
It's neat seeing different ways of Mickey and the Disney channel.
I *DID NOT* expect to see a parody of The Fly (1986) in these channel bumpers, particularly given David Cronenberg's reputation of serious R-rated material in his films and the dark way his version of the film ended.
Bro teleported Mickey hats like breads.
Horror
This really brings back memories from I was a baby😢 I wish it was still here 0:17
3:27 Out of all the bumpers in this compilation, this one is the wildest one out of them all.
Happy 40th Anniversary, Disney Channel.

12:56 the baby mobile is so cute even the sound looks like playtime
Mickey mouse chase nightmare
I loved these bumpers when I was a kid. So entertaining!
Before they made Disney part of cable, I remember the only way you could ever see a Disney program was on the free preview weekend along with Showtime
And always asking for it but never getting it because it was too expensive
Ok, that statue of the Disney Channel logo would've been great to put up in Disneyland.
11:25 why does the song in this feel like something that would be in rhythm heaven…
The voices sound like voice lines from warioware
That jingle is catchy
Y'know I don't remember watching Disney channel at all as a kid but now all of a sudden I think that the last bumper instilled a very long series of nightmares into my very early youth. It feels very surreally familiar.
you would of watch it on youtube
I seriously just wrote a comment on another channel regarding things that were creepy when I was little and I used to always get freaked out about these disney bumpers. I think that because it only showed the gloved hands it created an element of mystery that translated negatively in the minds of a younger audience. When we're little, it's almost like we were on a trip of some sort in our minds bc we are witnessing things for the first time and these programs are purposely weird so kids will remember them better I guess.
I've got to admit, just like many others you too sure put much time, searching, & hard work into finding these.
Wow I've never seen any TV idents like those before in my entire life. They look pretty interesting.
I am seeing this video from Ireland 🇮🇪
I love how Mickey tosses the oven mitt away, like "Peh!" XD
And wow! :O I've never seen the jet ski or the detective ones before!!!
These are the ones I grew up on. I was always disturbed by the first person view of Mickey
Happy 40th Birthday, Disney Channel!!!
You know how Mickey used to have voiceovers for the wood blocks, rubber stamp (I think) and paper cutout IDs? Well, here's some I've crafted on the fly for the rest:
0:14 - "Come soar to new heights with us... only on the Disney Channel!"
0:51 - "No matter where you are... with the Disney Channel, you'll always get there in the end!"
1:06 - "You're watching the Disney Channel... entertaining folks one piece at a time!"
1:18, 1:28, 1:38, 1:48, 1:58 - "This is the Disney Channel. You'll like the view from here!"
2:10 - "Everything comes up roses, here on the Disney Channel! Now here's a swell show coming right up!"
2:18 - "When it comes to fun... we always come out on top! You're watching the Disney Channel!"
2:45 - "Just let me state for the _record:_ you're watching the Disney Channel!"
3:18 - "When you watch the Disney Channel, everything you'll see is out of this world!"
3:51 - "You're watching the Disney Channel... the network that's making history!"
4:42 - "You're watching the Disney Channel... a great American tradition its own right!"
5:16 - "With the Disney Channel... you're in for the ride of your life!"
5:50 - (Minnie) "Wherever you go," (Mickey) "go with a friend..." (M&M) "The Disney Channel!"
6:07 - (Mickey) "You always score big..." (Minnie) "Right here on the Disney Channel!"
6:21 - (Minnie) "You're watching the Disney Channel... the best gift *anyone* could ever get!"
6:52 - "You're watching the Disney Channel... where *everybody's* a winner in _our_ book!"
7:04 - "If it's fun you're looking for, you'll never find a better place to hang your hat... than the Disney Channel!"
7:15 - "This is where it all comes together: you're watching the Disney Channel!"
7:33 - "You're watching the Disney Channel... where we know a good trick or two!"
7:44 - "When it comes to family fun... the Disney Channel has its foot in *any* door!"
8:00 - "Keep it tuned here to the Disney Channel.... we know our way around everything!"
8:14 - "Get on the right track... only on the Disney Channel. All aboard!"
8:45 - "When you're with the Disney Channel... we make quite a splash together!"
9:20 - "You're watching the Disney Channel... your perfect traveling companion!"
10:06 - "When it comes to family fun... the Disney Channel is always on the case!"
10:56 - "You've got to look... because _we've_ got the look... here on the Disney Channel!"
11:19 - "You're watching the Disney Channel... a winner on *any* menu!"
11:51 - "Entertaining your family is *our* biggest strength... right here on the Disney Channel!"
12:10 - "There isn't a _shadow_ of a doubt about it... you're watching the Disney Channel!"
12:18 - "Come fill up your glasses and set awhile. You're watching the Disney Channel!"
12:29 - "You can always _count_ on the Disney Channel to keep the good times rollin'!"
12:49 - "It's all in the mix... for you, only on the Disney Channel!"
13:23 - "For even the youngest Mousketeer in your family... it's all right here on the Disney Channel."
13:40 - "It's the Disney Channel... where fun really comes alive!"
13:55 - "You're watching the Disney Channel: a world of creation... *any* way you create it!"
14:26 - "When it comes to family fun, _we're_ well-dressed for any occasion. You're watching the Disney Channel!"
14:42 - "It's the very _model_ of family fun: The Disney Channel!"
14:56 - "Things can get pretty wild around here... especially when you're watching the Disney Channel!"
15:11 - "You've never seen such _craft_ as this: you're watching The Disney Channel!"
15:24 - "This is the Disney Channel, where, when it comes to family fun... *you're* the star!"
15:38 - "You're watching the Disney Channel, the rock... of *ALL* ages!"
15:55 - "You'll *flip* for all the fun we've got... right here, on the Disney Channel!"
16:36 - "You're watching the Disney Channel... for the stuff dreams are *really* made of!"
I love all these! I've come up with some for those three to maintain your style:
Paper: "When it comes to family fun... The Disney Channel's a *cut* above the rest!"
Blocks: "Are you feeling *puzzled?* Don't worry, the Disney Channel's got the solution to all your problems!"
Stamp: "Stamp out boredom... With the Disney Channel!" (this one I had to borrow from an existing voiceover.)
Oswald the Lucky Rabbit: Wow, Mickey. You sure did everything in those bumpers for The Disney Channel. Including grocery shopping, making pancakes for breakfast, going on a scary ride and even having a nightmare!
“Disney-or-bust” die-hards would be shocked to know that in the early 90s, Disney regularly aired “Daffy Duck’s Fantastic Island” and “The Looney, Looney Bugs Bunny Movie.” 🤣 These bumpers reminded us we were indeed watching the Disney Channel.
90s
Whenever the mirror in the bathroom gets steamed up after a shower, I try to replicate the Mickey Mouse logo the same way he does it in these bumpers lol
12:02 -- I strongly remember this particular bumper, since it played before the September 28, 1990 Halloween-time airing of Rankin & Bass' The Hobbit (1977).
(I know this because my parents recorded on VHS that airing of the Hobbit from this channel, including this bumper and an announcement for Casper's Halloween Special and The Halloween that Almost Wasn't that aired before The Hobbit, as those two specials were going to play together on the channel on Tuesday October 2 at 8:00PM. Was able to figure that out checking out the Disney Channel's Wiki listing schedules and lining them up with the recorded VHS.)
I remember back when I could only see these thru the Free Preview Weekend before Disney Channel became part of the basic cable package.
The live action idents were done by Wildbrain/Colossal Pictures, while the 2D idents were done by Curious Pictures.
Would it be crazy to say these bumpers still hold up?
I mean, they look like they could still be played on Disney Channel to this day.
Exactly right i guess
Who else just watched Defunctland's piece about the search for the 2000s Disney Channel theme composer?
Me
He got it wrong that these early bumpers didn’t have a consistent musical theme. Many quite clearly do

In the description I think you got it a bit wrong. The live action idents were done at WildBrain/Collosal Pictures, while the 2D idents where done at Curious Pictures. Also, the only bumpers that's missing are the "video game" bumper, made to celebrate the release of Mickey Mania, and was only used for one day, as well as the "attic" bumper, in which Mickey goes into the attic to find a film canister that is labeled "Disney Channel Discovery" in it.
Is that the same WildBrain who would later do Ninjago?
@@ntcnetwork9934 im gonna assume so
I think those are lost media.
There could’ve been more.
How do you know?
Wonderful and amazing
back when Disney Channel was unique
The paint is so colorful at 12:38
The clothes is the best one hands down!
Aww that cute baby in old Disney Channel logo
14:09 This Music is where we start packing to go to Best Western Posada Royale Hotel.
The one at 14:09 didn't need to be epic with the music, but it was, and I'm cool with that.
Childhood memories ❤❤❤
Oooh, I get the pun in the detective bumper. He "slipped a mickey" in the drink.
The "Pancakes" ID reminds me of when my mother used to make us "Hidden Mickey" shaped pancakes for our weekend breakfasts as kids.
On April 18 Is Disney Channel 40th Anniversary
Imma call this The POV era
Same cause we’re Mickey

For 40 Years Of *The Disney Channel™*
#Disney100 X #DisneyChannel40
It's a Disney puzzle game 0:57 and the wood blocks too 10:12
Sad, all this beautiful creativity is gone. Not just from Disney channel but most of TV & streaming. Visual idents/bumpers
& promos add much needed identity & soul to programing, now these companies are seemingly too cheap to have it made as good as it was. I miss the old days of entertainment, I truly do.
A lot of these have a liminal quality to them that unsettles me slightly
BRING BACK THE MOUSE ID
This is where Gerard Way got the intro to Black Parade
A wasp and a Mickey Mouse's ears hat have been merged into a logo.
The Only thing those live action IDs Resembling From Mickey Mouse Costumes From DisneyLand & Walt Disney World Theme Parks
16:12 this bumper gave me nightmares
I FINALLY FOUND IT!! I FOUND MY NOSTALGIAAAA!!!!!!! 😭😭😭😄😄😄
samee
I would totally wear those sweaters from that one ident where Mickey puts them in the drawer from 14:26.
Me, too and today’s new generation will witnessing the original landmark of our favorite channel a long time ago.
Memories
Good 👍
0:46 the bee just turns into Disney Channel logo/WHY IS IT SCARY
Oh?
IDK @DogDay-p3u 0:55
welcome back to I HATE IT!!!
13:20 The first time I ever heard MCR's "Welcome to the Black Parade" I immediately thought of these bumpers. The piano riff's first ten notes are exactly the same.
15:45 Mickey: Alright gang im making breakfast!
Donald: Whats for breakfast Mickey?
Mickey: Im making Pancakes!
*Mickey Flips them onto the plate* Mickey: Breakfast is served!
Mickey: OH! I almost forgot!
*Pours Syrup*
Mickey: You cant have Pancakes without syrup. Enjoy!
when these aired in 1996, some of these bumpers tell what is coming up next
GUYS, I MISS MY CHILDHOOD, BY THE WAY. 😔 BECAUSE I WILL ALWAYS LOVE THE OLD DISNEY CHANNEL, OF COURSE. 🤨
Way better than the new one.
why would a fish need a mask and snorkle when it can already breathe underwater
I vaguely remember one where the logo is made with magnifying glasses and the stripes are the shadows of window blinds... or something like that, anyone remembers?
Imagine a bumper ident without his gloves
This music at 2:02....sounds like the "Bridge Zone" music in Game Gear Sonic The Hedgehog! Or the theme to Full House
At 4:49 this ident has 2 different versions. The first version is just mickey mouse and the second has minnie mouse with mickey.
0:01 my favorite ❤
He Your Hands.
16:16 Strange how Mickey’s glove was chased by a ghost
This Pictures was used in 1995 Japanese TV TOKYO's『MICKEY KIDS』
you can tell its mickey cause of the gloves
It is
And black arms and voice
Both the Disney Channel and NIckelodeon Idents were absolutely amazing back in the day. Added a little special something on top of the already great content. Now they'd just use the airtime to show MORE ADS. MORE MORE MORE ADS! MORE!! 🎈🤡
11:56 My favorite part 😊
8:15 wooden train whistle
2001: A Space Odyssey spoof @ 3:45.
You are watching The Disney Channel
Considering they made feet in the detective bumper did they make a body or dare I say a head? (12/24/2022 im also ai upscaling the video! yay! also happy holidays! - Nevan)
nah but it does imply they made puppets for Mickey and Minnie rather than just solely stop motion.
@@TAPE_W0RM also was the bumper used at 3:59 a sign off bumper?
😊 4:48 😮 5:07 😢😅😅😂 5:16 5:23 the brave engineer closed for repairs 5:34 😮 5:41 😂😂 5:49
