- Video Blog 328 - I went on one of the tours of Manchester Town Hall Clock Tower. I got as far as the clock face and a combination of vertigo and an 80mph gale meant I didn't get to experience the view (which I was told was good) and the hour bell strike. However I did get to see the clock mechanism work. If you do get the chance to do the tour I would recommend it. Even if you can't manage the outside bit it's a fantastic piece of Victorian engineering.
Machester?
If you want to hear the bells, go to 2:08!
That the small bells are color by green tongue and they are loud
Do you play Westminster chime
You should go to York minster is in United Kindom
Once I went to St. Andrews and I got a little bit spooked by the mechanism
And they are pro
Cool
2:08
I love the big flying fans up top.
Those things are fast enough to actually keep the bells in tempo so they don't slow down. The grandfather clock ones do the same thing. Fly Fans are my favorite part.
@@carwashslayer4235 bloody annoying when they stop though
@@toastedbutter4316 very true
Those are the bells
@@carwashslayer4235i wonder why they take ages to stop
If you want to see the mechianism room go to 1:28
The big bell is next to the small bells are pro
I can bary hear the stricking bell
The quarter bells (Westminster chimes) are directly above the mechanism, but the striking bell (Great Abel) is all the way at the top of the tower, quite a ways up.
