How can you not like Garner. He was so great in so many different roles. The one that I remember vividly is The Children's Hour, Murphy's Law, How to Support Your Local Sheriff, Maverick etc etc etc. Nobody knows a marriage except the two peoole in it.

In those times when I was a child all the states in United States really hated California. They never had any good opinion about us at any time. Pretty much how it is today. Mr Gardner showed that love has no limits or judgement.

James Garner was very generous and kind. Benefactor to famous Black artist called Richmond Barthe (Bar-they). Mr. James heard how amazing Mr. Richmond was, had a portrait painted by him and was very impressed! When Mr. Richmond was old and his style of sculpture and painting were out of style, Mr. Garner provided for him. Like his son. 🫂 When Mr. Richmond passed, he willed his estate to Mr. James. Garner knew nothing about the art of Black culture, so he donated it to a Cali university where it remains on permanent display today. Great men do great things! ❤
When I was very young, I remember being taken to the Brown Derby by a sweet friend & I met Steve McQueen, & James Garner! I was able to get their autograph & I cherished them, but unfortunately over the years, during another move; I lost them! It broke my heart. James Garner had apparently been in a movie rehearsal & was dressed in regular clothes & looked grungy. However; even though I could tell he was exhausted; he was very kind! 💗🙏🌺🤗

Oh my gosh, I fell hard for him, when he played Maverick!! And I mean I fell HARD!! I think I was only around 9 yrs old!! I had guy crush’s early, I guess! Had it BAD for Roy Rogers too!! I always felt he was close to the most handsome man in Hollywood if not the most!!! I had 4 maybe 5 men from the 40s to the 1999s that I thought were just the best men in every way. No young blond pretty boys but kind , gracious, handsome, talented men I wished I could have married.

I was friends with his son and actually went to his son‘s wedding. James Gardner was there. Very nice classy man. He went around to almost every table and said hello to people.
