Took me a few listens and this lyric vid to realize this song is about the man from "Taured" that showed up at Tokyo airport in 1954 with a passport stamped with non existing countries. Epic & original concept for a song. Mind officially blown. Matt is more of a genius than he gives himself credit for. Their song writing did not die with the Rev.

I think Brooks impressed us all! By doing what he did on The Stage, he showed us fans that he is the perfect replacement for The Rev. He has his own unique and amazing style and is better than Arin Ilejay in every aspect...
A7x seems to be heading in the direction of progressive metal which wouldn't disappoint at all. They got a lot of talent and i wouldn't be surprise if their upcoming albums are prog metal.
trotcu what?! They’ve had elements of prog metal since the start, particularly in City of Evil, over a decade ago 😂 there have been continuing prog influences showing the whole time they have been a band.
Didn't mean to come off as an asshole, just found it surprising that anyone could possibly see prog metal as being a new direction, they are heavily influenced by Dream Theater and show it musically, one of the reasons I first got into them.
The whole "Stage" album, and including this song, it is so odd.. It is like, each song, they are thoroughly telling a story. It still continues to blow my mind how they can write a story and make it sound amazing with instruments.
IMO two awesome examples of progressive metal concept albums are "Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence" and "Metropolis Part 2: Scenes From a Memory" by Dream Theater

Brooks brings back the experimentation that the band was missing for a while. He can do so many different things on the drums. All you guys are amazing, if you ever read these things. lol
Yeah, and the guys said brooks is really giving the band advice and changing what they are doing, so in essence the stage is just as much brooks's album as it is avenged sevenfold's. I think that's really cool, and the band has a bright future!!!
Ya creatively it just wasn’t there with Arin, brooks was absolutely the right guy for the band and it shows on the stage, way more creative and impressive album than HTTK, they missed the Revs songwriting on HTTK and Arin couldn’t fill that hole so they ended up releasing their most bland record, they get brooks tho and release a sweet album that’s super creative and has incredible drums. Outside of the Rev obviously I’m not sure there is a better fit in the world, brooks really helped bring some of that creativity back that A7X always had on their first 5 records

Not only does avenged sevenfolds music appeal to me incredibly but the views about the world that they share seem to be the most level headed and insightful of allot of people out there, whenever I'm fed up with the constant war mongering from politicians and media or entitled selfish people across the world I can always come back to a7x to comfort me and provide a voice of reason Too bad most of the worlds infatuated with sexualised shallow music These guys are absolutely remarkable, favourite band ever
It's actually about a real man who appeared to have come from another dimension. I don't remember all of the details very clear but supposedly the guy had a passport from a city that wasn't even real. Google "Taured Man".
3:41 sounds like rev from pinkly smooth songs!! i wish he actually sang that part in this song! :'( clearly matt mimicked his voice n succeeded in bringing that haunting feel! :') cheers foREVer!
Syed Ibrahim I actually hear Matt mimicking Mike Patton here, who is a huge influence on Pinkly Smooth and M Shadows. Even vocally, he’s got a couple of low vocals going on there to display range like Patton did.
DarkValentine Compare Maiden with a band that is similar with it. A7x has done every type of music pretty much. I'd say they are because of that in a whole next level
They really need to stick with this direction of a somewhat progressive sound. It helps them stray from the shitty heavy metal norms and edginess that they portray in their previous work. Coming from someone who grew up listening to this band since Waking the Fallen, The Stage is by far their best album and it's the only album I have from them. Prog metal is best metal.
Nash Rarig totally agree, I enjoy all their work, but I’ve been waiting for something like this for a long time from them. I really hope they continue this path.
One of my favorites idk why but it stands out to me the most on the album as soon as I heard it I was like wow this is pretty cool I hope maybe they’ll add this to their set and play it live .
Man, the Rev would be SO fucking proud of this album and these singles A7X has been releasing. Especially, this one and the cover of Retrovertigo, it would be so up his alley, man.
It seems like lately, all of my favorite bands are releasing new stuff and all of it has been AMAZING! All the new albums really show their growth as musicians
Dear Avenged Sevenfold, please do a remake of Unfortunate Snort. This avant-garde style of writing and simply not giving a fuck is what make you guys great. Nothing short of amazing work from The Stage and Retrovertigo cover, and this is also incredible. - Love, Squidward's Feet
For those who do not know this song is about a supposed time traveler or multi universe traveler. A man who claimed to be from taured was stopped at a Tokyo airport. His passport and other paperwork all claimed he lived and came from Taured. Taured does not actually exist so he was not allowed to travel. He said Taured has been around for a thousand years. The man went to a hotel and was never seen again.
The Stage is such a big deal to me. The first time i heard music from the album, i thought, "Nah their older music was better, but this isn't bad" But now quite a way down the line, it has sort of become their older music's equal, perhaps even its rival. ((IMO)) It's just strange to me that such a different album can still feel just like A7X to me, and despite those differences, i love it just as much.
What's the matter dear Seems the ghost is in your stall For a thousand years Taured lived within us all I've come from somewhere beyond Lost in a world Voyage in time Shot through the worm Scaling the vine Here in '54 Tastes the napalm fill the sky Axis wins the war Seems the crop of our divide I've slipped through bodies aligned Lost in the world Voyage in time Shot through the worm Scaling the vine All that's me and all that's you All that's false and all that's true On the sea you sailed away Another you'd surely stay It's only fabric so it seems our intimate reality We're living simultaneously while parallel in possibility Lost in the world Voyage in time Shot through the worm Scaling the vine Lost in the world Voyage in time Shot through the worm Scaling the vine

People can say anything they want about A7X but nobody can deny the fact they are one of the few bands that found their identity. It takes 5 seconds to recognize them!
Nice to see them continuing in a more experimental vein. One of the things I like about A7X...they can bang out radio-friendly anthems, but also do more unusual songs like this. Amazing, versatile band.
Every aspect of this song fits within the elements of serious artistic merit. Avenged, you guys are the raging badasses of this century. No band comes close. Avenged is second to none.
not gonna lie. I don't like experimental albums. but A7x have done something truly special with the stage and the most recent releases after the Stage. it honestly amazes me. love it.

For a thousand years

I've come from somewhere beyond
[Chorus]
Lost in a world
Voyage in time
Shot through the worm

[Verse 2]
Here in '54
Tastes of napalm fill the sky
Axis wins the war
Seems the crop of our divide
I've slipped through bodies aligned
[Chorus]
Lost in a world
Voyage in time
Shot through the worm
Scaling the vine
[Solo: Synyster Gates]
[Bridge]
All that's me and all that's you
All that's false and all that's true
On the sea you sailed away
Another time you'd surely stay
It's only fabric so it seems
Our intimate reality
We're living simultaneously
While parallel in possibility
[Chorus] (repeats x2)
Lost in a world
Voyage in time
Shot through the worm
Scaling the vine

Not only does avenged sevenfolds music appeal to me incredibly but the views about the world that they share seem to be the most level headed and insightful of allot of people out there, whenever I'm fed up with the constant war mongering from politicians and media or entitled selfish people across the world I can always come back to a7x to comfort me and provide a voice of reason
Too bad most of the worlds infatuated with sexualised shallow music
These guys are absolutely remarkable, favourite band ever
The ending has a very obvious "Mezmer" influence. Awesome.
God damn!
Michael Holt he means this song is amazing
David Ortiz Bingo
Michael Holt facepalm*
Aahrynn stfu
dear god...
I hope they make these newly released songs available to purchase!
Franco oh Check the description😉

Their most underrated song by FAAAARRRR
It very fits the "the stage" album. Perfection! >:)
Fucking love the gritty, dirty sound that's somehow so clear and heavy! These guys never let me down.
Holy SHITBALLS. love this. A7X + Sci-fi = Delicious music.
Jack Kastor
what is sci-fi?
Uriel Vengenz science fiction
truuu truuuuu :D
Why can't I like this comment 2 times?
It's actually about a real man who appeared to have come from another dimension. I don't remember all of the details very clear but supposedly the guy had a passport from a city that wasn't even real. Google "Taured Man".
I'm glad that no haters comment in this comment section 😊😊😊😊
Mr. N This song is too perfect to have haters
Mr. N fuck u
Welp, you asked for it.
Love Synyster ♡
This song has become my favorite song from them, this whole album will only get better with time, its a _god damn_ masterpiece
There is no better band than Avenged Sevenfold.
Besides Avenged Sevenfold.
Avenged Sixty-ninefold (;
ever heard of iron maiden?
DarkValentine fuck your classical metal
DarkValentine Compare Maiden with a band that is similar with it. A7x has done every type of music pretty much. I'd say they are because of that in a whole next level
Greatest band of the 21st century
They really need to stick with this direction of a somewhat progressive sound. It helps them stray from the shitty heavy metal norms and edginess that they portray in their previous work. Coming from someone who grew up listening to this band since Waking the Fallen, The Stage is by far their best album and it's the only album I have from them. Prog metal is best metal.
Nash Rarig totally agree, I enjoy all their work, but I’ve been waiting for something like this for a long time from them. I really hope they continue this path.
This isnt my favourite album by then (top three easy), but i like there new stuff bc im not a huge fan of metalcore
Like Jazz Metal
This belongs on life is but a dream
I was thinking the same thing. It gives like the same sort of dread and eerie vibe that libad songs have.
No WTF, this single for game Dungeon Hunter 5 @@domenicandreozzi4067
Love the guitars and bass line in this one!!
que delícia de música
Sued Junior aaaaaai que delícia cara
BR na área
Masterpiece
this song is so underrated.. it deserve more.
The closing to this song. Holy hell
PINKLY SMOOTH FOR THE REV!!!!!!
Amazing 😍😍😍😍😍
It seems like lately, all of my favorite bands are releasing new stuff and all of it has been AMAZING! All the new albums really show their growth as musicians
A7X IS KILLING IT DUDE
Agradezco cuan activos se están volviendo estos chicos, este proyecto The Stage sin dudas es increíble grande A7X !!!!
i could def see Jimmy having been apart of this song. cool to see how creative and open they are after all this time :D
Every. Single. Song. Apart from Unbound (The Wild Ride); which even that's not bad, is EPIC AS HELL. I will never stop loving this band!
What's the matter dear
Seems the ghost is in your stall
For a thousand years
Taured lived within us all
I've come from somewhere beyond
Lost in a world
Voyage in time
Shot through the worm
Scaling the vine
Here in '54
Tastes the napalm fill the sky
Axis wins the war
Seems the crop of our divide
I've slipped through bodies aligned
Lost in the world
Voyage in time
Shot through the worm
Scaling the vine
All that's me and all that's you
All that's false and all that's true
On the sea you sailed away
Another you'd surely stay
It's only fabric so it seems our intimate reality
We're living simultaneously while parallel in possibility
Lost in the world
Voyage in time
Shot through the worm
Scaling the vine
Lost in the world
Voyage in time
Shot through the worm
Scaling the vine
Bruno Otávio
Its A7X- Dose
Did I win something???
Breh. The video shows the lyrics. Why you gotta paste em in the comments? Seems kinda useless and a waste of time to me.
Call Me Alpha he's just seeking attention my dood
Bruno Otávio i
It actually helps me understand when I can read them this way while the song plays. Ignore these guys. You're a hero.
The concept of parallel universes is infinitely intriguing
Brooks is such a pro
The best band in this World.
but when planets collide? sorry bad pun😂
Planets.....COLLLLLLLLLLLLLIIIDDDDDEEEEE
We'll be forgotten. like the others lost in time
yuppp
fL0W 6661 planet...
The intro is a little peice of heaven and exist mixed... the rest of the song is planets if it was made for the stage instead of hail to the king... this song is really cool and really good... also the chorus sounds a bit like shephered of fire but different words... still love it
Also feels like it has a part of danger line in it a tiny bit
This song deserves more views to be honest
Love the direction this band is taking. Also Brook Wackerman is a beast on drums.
Feels so weird but cool
PINKLY SMOOTH COVER!
People can say anything they want about A7X but nobody can deny the fact they are one of the few bands that found their identity. It takes 5 seconds to recognize them!
When you have the most handsome vocalist and don't show him...
Leona S. exactly what I was thinking, too lol
shadows is shown around 2:12
Bh The Bob Yeah and all the others are shown the entire time :D
Leona S.
They probably want us to pay attention to the music. It can be hard to do that with Matt's beautiful face popping up everywhere
brooks wackerman makes this band great again!!!
Definitely the best drummer since The Rev in my opinion!
Nice to see them continuing in a more experimental vein. One of the things I like about A7X...they can bang out radio-friendly anthems, but also do more unusual songs like this. Amazing, versatile band.
I'm smelling a future double B sided album in the future like diamonds in the rough 😏
RIP The Rev.
Every aspect of this song fits within the elements of serious artistic merit. Avenged, you guys are the raging badasses of this century. No band comes close. Avenged is second to none.
mamalon!!!! 👌
Donovan DC Camargo ufff lo mismo pienso lml
RT
si
A huevo
HYPE!
not gonna lie. I don't like experimental albums. but A7x have done something truly special with the stage and the most recent releases after the Stage. it honestly amazes me. love it.
Nossa eu viajo demais nessa música 🇧🇷
Three words for that one, God fucking damn!
Nothing short of masterpiece! One of the best songs ever recorded in this universe.
Holyshit this is sooo good. I listen to lotta djent and deathcore but this classic is still fantastic tbh
Amazing song, I love it. Want to see you soon in France !!!!
Ugh I'm loving how subtly prog and ambient they've become - I've been an A7X fan since I was a child and I always will be 👌
this must be based off "the man from the country that didnt exist" story pretty cool.
fireball676 It is my man
This music is Legen wait for it...
Azyled R. You didn't wait!!
Barney Stinson DARYYY! LOL I was literally just watching that show before this 😂
Legendary...!!!
If there isn't some milk brand called Legend Dairy, there's something wrong with the world.
Barney Stinson! Barney Stinson! That guy's awesome!
