    Another great project vid...I have watched many of your others and your projects are always well thought out and vids straight to the point and well done. I do a lot of boat and kayak customizing projects myself, and have been in the construction business all my life. From the building business I learned how corrosive the CCA in that treated plywood is, especially towards aluminum.
    Also, a little info I learn a few years back, while researching materials for my first boat mod, is what makes marine plywood special is the number and quality of plies, and lack of voids. It is not treated, but , of course, is made with exterior grade adhesive. What I use is ACX Underlayment. The X confirms exterior grade adhesive is used in the product. It is a 5 ply, vs the marine 7 ply, but is less than 1/2 the price, has a nice sanded face, minimal voids, and stocked at most lumberyards.
    I have seen alot of treated plywood used in youtube boat projects, but it will eat those boats through anywhere it touches, or where it leaches water into the hull. I don't think you will have any issues with your ladder platform, as you painted and wrapped it with carpet, but just wanted to pass on the info for consideration in your next project. Thanks for the time you put into your vids.

      Thank you very much for the information. I try to make my videos concise and try to keep the useless chatter out. I'm glad they have helped.

    What did you use to attach the lid to the box and doesn't the ladder swing back and hit the transom

    • @Aksmaniyak
      @Aksmaniyak  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Screws and glue. No it does not swing back. I have a small bungee attached to keep it in place.

    Great video/project. How did you secure the pieces of the box to one another? And, did I understand correctly that the only place where the box is attached to the boat is the battery compartment wall? Thank you

    Does the box move at all just bolted into the front? Also how does the water drain through splash hole? Does the box cover that up?

    • @Aksmaniyak
      @Aksmaniyak  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, the box was very snug. Drainage was never an issue.

    How do you attach the top? It looks like it overlaps the notch that you cut out for the lid? Also do you screw together through the carpet? Can you post a couple pics of completed project from all sides?

    • @Aksmaniyak
      @Aksmaniyak  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Each section was screwed together. The lid may look a little off due to the carpet thickness. I don't have any pictures, only the video.

      Is the top lid screwed down or on a hinge? Also is it level with the transom?

      @@geofferysmith450 The top is screwed down and the 4 sides are level with the transom.

    Those mounts won’t bend? They hold up with adults Getting on and off the ladder?

    • @e865
      @e865 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The reason I’m asking is I have trim tabs in the way of my ladder. I thought about moving the mounts out about an inch like you have. It was worried they would bend.

    After my troubles getting back into the boat this past weekend with an apparent emergency ladder lol...... I need one of this. Just not sure I can make this on my own.

    • @Aksmaniyak

      It really wasn't that hard to make. The hard part was coming up with a design that would work.

    I love the swim platform build you shared on TH-cam. I have the same Lund you have and will be building the same platform design. My question is this: how did you secure the frame work before before putting on the carpet. Is the top platform secured by screws etc.
