Using it for years. A real keeper.

Naa. I've been through dozens of bass overdrives. And the Basstortion keeps on sticking on my pedalboard. The difference becomes visible when used in a band context. The Basstortion always provides a fat meaty tone.

This is a lovely sounding OD. Too bad it's sideways and expensive. I've been awaiting the schematic for years so I can build one with normal orientation.

I never understood Zvex's fetish with the sideways enclosures. I got a guy to build me a Woolly Mammoth clone in a not-stupid enclosure for exactly that reason.

Hey, I might be able to help you out with that. I just bought one and opened it up, the circuit looks really simple. It might take me a while until I find time for it, but I could probably trace it. Feel free to remind me.

Ok, turns out there is a simpler solution. There is no schematic, but apparently Pedalpcb has recently released a pcb clone (called Bass Distortion/pcb267). From taking a quick glance comparing it to mine I would say it has the same parts count and looks legit. Fair price also and made for 125B enclosures so it could be exactly what you are looking for.
