Watch all 3 from the new masterclass 9 now and Rob burgess is by far the best one absolutely loved it from start to finish Dan's bottom bait masterclass was really good aswell the only thing is I would have liked to see some new products been shown in detail in the shows but not knocking it at all absolutely brilliant watch 👍🏻😁👌🏻
Really, really enjoyed this one. Rob really has come on leaps and bounds in his presenting and this was really informative and really engaging. Well done to all involved (photography and editing superb, as we've come to expect) but especially Rob of course. I use sold bags loads in my fishing but there were some really excellent bits of advice that I don't currently do (lead to one side, sleeves rather than tail-rubbers for example), so I will take these away and put into practice. Also the morning spombing at bite time is different to my thought process until now so will give that a try too. Thanks all. Great job.
I really think solid bag fishing is a great tactic. I would love to see a video on how to use pva bags at different times of the year (eg, spring, summer, autumn, winter) and baiting approaches for the different seasons
Been doing my PVA bags similar to rob for a few years now. He taught me at a carp show and honestly ive never looked back. His way of teaching, presenting and executing his way of fishing has helped me massively. top geez.
I fish naked inlines with a 2 1/2 oz korda leads in bags and I've nailed so many carp over the years! really is a very good video for info on how to catch!🙌
Problem with having the lead on 1 side is they don't fly well u get a lot of flight wobble on casting . Jus my opinion. I keep my lead central for balance
I like the pretied bag put in an old pva packet to keep it dry whilst wrapping 👌 always wrapped with a lead and added a ft for the leader. Will be stealing that idea!!
Fantastic watch as always and very well put together, i noticed Rob loaded his solid bags differently when he moved to brasenose and was interested if this was because of the long shank hook used or not.
Here in the California, US we are not allowed to prebait so solid bags or mesh are the only way to do it. I like bags personally and I picked up a tip with how you place them in the bag so thanks for that! Do you like crushed Boilies at all? That seems to work better than pellet for wild carp any idea as to why? I’m finding crushed CELL with a pink or yellow slow sinking Maize gets me bites but I blank with the pellet mix. Trying to get better, could you maybe do a Masterclass “wild” series on spots that have non stocked natural locations? There are a lot of US carp anglers but we don’t have stocked venues here so something like that would really help increase knowledge with applicable tactics and tips. Thanks again for making a great video, top notch.
Top vid Rob I'm still learning about these solid bags I'm changing all my end tackle to korda I'd like to shout out lee smithy who used to work for korda hes got me buying korda kit now the vid as help me out a lot cheers korda
I have to say the Korda PVA bags are the best. They're strong, they don't stick to themselves, and you can really pack them tight. And Rob is right they don't have any taste, if anything (to me anyway) they kinda have a very slight sweet taste. Cheap pva bags taste like chems and go all loosey goosey once tied. Korda Solidz are the way to go. I use the dark matter braid on my PVAs rigs....does the job, if the fish are biting, I'm catching!
Awesome video rob been watching all your masterclass episodes very informative. Now that my country is now in winter I've been using this method and my catch rate has moved up to 9 out of 10 fish landed . Thank you and keep up the videos coming 😎👊
This is really great video for someone like myself who fishes bags all the time and in such a similar manner to Rob; gives me even more confidence! Even down to the single corn and the small(ish) hooks, that's my style all over and personally I think it works wonders. Have incidentally caught Catfish up to 30lb on size 8 and even 10 hooks no problem. Edit; QUESTION to you all - I almost religiously use back leads particularly when I'm fishing a swim that is tight and playing a fish without them is likely to result in wiping other lines out. I notice this is a problem Rob had several times in the video. I'd swear it makes no difference to my bite detection (well I would wouldn't I) but what am I missing re: con's of using back leads? Thoughts?
I too use backleads when I know the lake bed is clear and I agree with you it's not affected my bite Indication. Like you I had my 1st catfish of 38lb on a pva bag of pellets and a small fake pink squid dumbbell on a size 6. Iv been thinking of dropping to a smaller hook to see if it has any effect
Farlows lake. Everything that is wrong with carp fishing. I fished this peg for 48 hrs. I was then told because the bailiffs mates turned up and no swims were left that I had to share the swim with 2 people I didn’t know. I Just left and reminded myself to never go to farlows again.
Would there be a shock leader on the mainline to cope with the additional weight on the cast? I’m just getting the gear together to start carp fishing, following 4 years on the beach….the rule of thumb there is 10lbs strain for every oz of lead…ie. A 6oz lead would require a 60lbs shock leader…any tips? A total newbie here! 👍👍👍
could be dependant on how far your fishing , if your fishing at range shockleader is a must but if your fishing meduim range just attach straight to mainline , that is what i would do
Surprised there's only one comment regarding the prototype rods mentioned by Rob. With Terry Edmonds on board and no more mentions of the Daiwa DF ranges in the films, come on Korda when are you going to release them???
@@paulwright651 yes not a problem, make sure the boilie, wafter, dumbbell which ever is in the bottom corner away from tangles. Then compact with crush and small pellet
for long chuck you can take off a extra 6ft if your doing extreme range as it's less thicker line causing drag behind the bag .. but i agree it's the best tapered leader out there.. another enjoyable video
Mate, you don’t need hugely expensive gear. Concentrate on strong line, sharp hook, good bait and most important of all fish location. Personally I do have expensive rods, reels etc but that’s because I’m 67 and can afford it. If I was starting again I’d do it much more cheaply ( less attractive to thieving scum). I still use Asda sandwich boxes for tackle boxes and I buy all my terminal tackle from eBay ( Bank Tackle). Korda PVA are certainly one of the best bags you can buy but I still buy mine on eBay….you don’t need to lick them…..turn them inside out before you fill them. I fish three days a week most of the year so have to make savings where I can but I don’t rubbish the tackle industry and hope they are always there for all of us. Lastly I’d like to say Danny Fairbrass and Embryo are doing a fantastic job for the carp fishing industry and anyone knocking that is a sad bastard. Long may it continue.
Hi! I noticed you put the lead on one side of the bag not on the middle of the pubis, why and how is it correct? on one side of the bag or in the middle of the bags, the lead?
I’m surprised u caught so many in the heat, u normally think the carp are on the surface or upper layers. Nice film though. Gives me more courage to fish solid bags in the heat . 🎣👍
Just like to say good watch. But just one thing, when using a naked line with solid bags. Wouldn't it be best to use a bit of tubing on your line. This is to provide protection to the fish, so it don't harm them. I guess korda are all about safety. Aren't they????
Very disappointed Rob focused on the fact that the mainline he was fishing on Farlow's was 15lb rather than diameter which is the critical factor when casting heavy loads, in this case the diameter was 0.40mm which should be more than up to handling the bags at the range he was fishing
I use solid bags all the time and would disagree with you Rob. I use whole 15mm boilies in my bags as well as crumb and pellet. 100 yards no problem. Very good video
@@danwilliams7021 actually you can disagree. not the way he doing it but because he says you cant use boilies. where i fish there are tons of roaches and other small fish. smaller baits are useless here. and what happens if you put boilies in a bag. i just lick it and put it on the bare hook. see no need to put the lead in. all i want a few boilies ying next to the hook bait after the bag meltet. and guess what carp bite. no doubt about being able to cast farere and way more accurate with a nicely build bag. however you just need to know what you want to achieve.
37:09 the bite alarm went off exactly as the beat dropped, that created the upmost suspense and I love it !!!

I really think solid bag fishing is a great tactic. I would love to see a video on how to use pva bags at different times of the year (eg, spring, summer, autumn, winter) and baiting approaches for the different seasons
I use them all year round, I adjust my mix slightly like more ground bait less pellet in the colder weather, still works a dream.

With the inline safety kit do you have to use a leader of some sort or can you just tie it directly onto your mainline? Cheers
