    Most of us have made that horrifying mistake of spoiling a hand knit when hurrying. It is heartbreaking but you are not alone! Beautiful projects. I look forward to looking at your hand dyeing guide. Thank you for creating it!

    Oh your sweater broke my heart! The first sweater I ever made my dear husband trying to help washed it! Luckily for me, it didn’t felt so much as it shrank! Also, luckily enough I had a dear friend the it fit perfectly! You have inspired me so much to get my Nutiden out after Christmas and begin a project! All your knitting is always so lovely! But the sweater you are swearing is just so stunning!

    I love the Italian bind off but I always do it by putting alternate stitches on two dpns and then do Kitchener stitch, which I know by heart and find very easy.

    • @AnnikaScheer
      @AnnikaScheer  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I will definitely try the Kitchener stitch technique for the Italian bind off next time! It sounds so much easier. Thanks for the tip! 👍🙂

    i totally agree with the oversized patterns. I like no more than 10 - 15 cm of ease.

    • @AnnikaScheer
      @AnnikaScheer  29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I totally agree - 10/15 cm max for me as well.
      But I do have to say, a lot of positive ease can look awesome on some people! It all comes down to personal preference/body type, I guess.

    I did exactly the same with a much-loved cardigan last year! Like you, I couldn’t believe I had put it in the machine; lesson learned for sure. I’m currently knitting a replacement: Dexter by Isabel Kramer. Thank you for your videos - such lovely ideas, thoughtfully curated, and your English is impeccable. I’m so delighted you say ‘fewer’ stitches. When I hear ‘less’ stitches it sets my teeth on edge! 😂

I have the yarn ready:) So Im now knitting on Sandnesgarn Julegenser new addition in tynn peer gynt, Terrazzo sweater in a gorgeous blend of meriono/cashmer/mohairesilk and Norma sweater in yarn from dog and angora, very interesting to knit up and see how it will hold up. Lovely projects! I’m knitting a Versal jumper by Ailbiona, in nutiden and silk mohair. Double nutiden is too hot for our climate, especially today, when we reached 41 degrees in Melbourne, Australia. Not that it stops me knitting….

      41°C - wow! In the region of Germany where I live, it can get to the upper thirties during summer as well. But I have to say, the older I get, I seem to be able to handle those hot temperatures less and less... 🙈

    The Italian knitter has a good tutorial which is how I do it; I only can do it this way, it’s just like Kitchener stitch, I use dpns , with stoppers and seperate the knits and purls, on different coloured dpns, and just Kitchener them off, add more on, Kitchener off, etc. and it’s much easier and neater; I’m talking about the Italian bind off😊

    • @AnnikaScheer
      @AnnikaScheer  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the great tip! Doing it like this seems a lot more manageable - I will definitely try the kitchener stitch method next time. 😊

    • @melissalampman7214
      @melissalampman7214 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @ hi Anne, if you do, I want to tell you this is where your needle stoppers come in handy, on the end of the main needle, as I just dropped my stitches not doing that, plus on the end of the two dpns, then when you have enough stitches, and are ready to Kitchener, switch the two to the other end, and good to put one on both ends of main needle! It’s the only way I could do this 🤶

    Oh dear! So sorry about your beautiful cardigan, it was so lovely; it is an absolutely adorable looking toddler version now 😉 and I hope you find someone who will love it. I have been interested in the Sweater No. 28, but I am not sure about the silhouette, so very interested to see how yours turns out. Currently I am knitting a sweater for my brother, the Choose Your Fellowship pattern by Sarah Kelly, and working against the clock to finish! A Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Alles Liebe Christine
