It is always a rare treat to catch KISS on TV. Simmons is on all the time, but from a guy who remembers them on the Paul Lynne Halloween Special and the Midnight Special it does an old heart proud to see them get kudos they deserve on TV 35 years later. Personelle have changed Peter and Ace are missed -- But Tommy Thayer earned his Kiss Straps -- and while Eric singer has been around the Block with Alice cooper He is a great asset to the band as well LONG LIVE KISS! TRUE BELIVERS BE COUNTED!
CHEAP TRICK, JOURNEY, STYX, QUEEN, THIN LIZZY. They have changed their line-up. No problem. KISS changes personell in their line-up, and all hell breaks loose. KISS will always be no matter whose in the line-up. Those iconic songs and sounds and characters will live forever. The music is what matters. So go easy on the salt.
Andrew Yanez and that’s fine but tommy and Eric could have came up with their own Personas but instead they are completely imitating ace and peter and that’s not ok
The only band in the history of the world that potentially can live and preform forever, members just get replaced as they get older and characters and songs live on
@@josiecat2788 But they aren't imitating Ace and Peter. They are playing characters on stage, not imitating real life people. So yeah, it really is ok.
I have been a big " KISS FAN" all of my life and they are still the greatest band in the land.. and this is too mention " ERIC THE FOX CARR " R.I.P BRO..
You don't stay in the industry 36 years and sell 100,000,000 LPs worldwide without kicking butt. And KISS is still so damn good they really show how smart it is to stay away from drugs and alcohol. They seem in better shape than many bands 1/2 their age. Amazing. I'll have to pay to see this tour.
I saw them in Boston the night before this and they were awesome...no better than awesome, they were KISS. The show is worth every penny. Paul did sound a little hoarse, but he still hit the high notes on the Black Diamond opening so it was barely noticeable. I preordered the new CD from Walmart, so I'll be getting 2 KISSes in the mail this week, Sonic Boom and the live CD from the Boston show. Can't WAIT!
KISS was my first live concert, when I was 16, back in 74. Was the most fun I've ever had at a concert. And the LOUDEST - my hearing was messed up for two days. KISS is just a FUN band. BLACK DIAMOND!!!
KISS ROCKS.....will get to see them for the 24th time live in the twin cities november 7th. Who else can rock like these guys at there age.............please don't say the Stones
BRAVO!!!! A great statement! I have met Eric Singer & have pics. Great Guy I will never forget! Stand up Man & True Rocker! Eric Rules. Thank yiu for standing up for Eric here. Peace...
Vinnie P1 Russo I like rock music in general I don’t care who sings the songs who the band is etc I love rock music I think it’s incredible to listen to
Good for you Tommy! Seriously. wanted to hate this but I believe that is exactly what I believe Ace would've played! You really kept in touch with KISS of the 70's! Really Impressed and a fan of yours! Thank you Sir!
Bit of trivia: The drummer of the Paul Shaffer band is Anton Fig, he is also the drummer who played on the "I was made for Loving you" single and some other songs on the Dynasty album.
for those who make fun of pauls aging voice, be glad he isn't lip sinking because that's what most artist do when they do something for tv. these guys are reall. no fillers and no bs!
This was AWESOME! contrary to the previous poster, Tommy Thayer wailed all over Frehley. AND he did it in key & in tune! And Paul sang just fine. Sonic Boom is an excellent record!
The first hit from KISS in 11 years and new material since Psycho Circus in 1998. You may call them a lot of things, but don't you DARE call them washed up.
ac/dc, metallica, motley crue and kiss i am big fans of they made some of the greatest albums the world has heard but they have been out of the game so long they made the new albums for the fans and all the albums didnt cut it, but its ok where just glad to see and hear them again rock and roll all nite
Though this is my favorite song off the new album, Paul needed a night off to heal his voice... They should have done a Gene song..I can tell you Paul is going to be hurting tonight in Ontario Canada...
Well,I had a luck to meet with Tommy and I have tosay: he is one of the most friendly musician, with who I ever met! Even he is very inteligent and good guitarrist! Altought, he played in a Kiss tribute band and one - maybe - more new members will to join to KISS as Demon,Starchild character and so on...as Paul Stanley says: the Kiss is a lifestyle not a one year trend...
Peter Criss also suffered from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, so he wouldn't be ROAD WORTHY as a KISS drummer anymore. This is one the RARE moments that KISS are ACTUALLY playing LIVE on TV!!!! Most other times (in the '70s & '80s) in the past they've lipped synched!!! But these days that doesn't CUT IT! GREAT PERFORMANCE!!!
They may be old, but they are still KIZZ. And to be honest, I loved the whole package. Including the DVD and Klazzik Kizz. Three discs for 14 bucks?? Damned right. Those that dont like KIZZ need not listen, Im sure Gene would say the same thing
in all honesty kiss would not be here if peter and ace were still in the band. kiss kicked ass in the 80s and 90s it doesnt matter whos in kiss they continue to rock.
And to be clear, 'Sonic Boom' is in the realm of 350,000-400,000 units as of right now. Only 10 albums in 2011 went 'Gold'. The state of the music business is dire and most people download and for an older rock act like KISS, they sold very well. Just look at Van Halen's new album this year, it's barely done any better than KISS' last studio effort. That's what rock acts sell today.
Those guys are in their mid 60's goddamnit. They can suck from time to time. Doesnt make anything worse or so. Still fucking love them and will see them in a few days. And i think i wont recognize any mistakes in live situation, even though it may all sound horrible when listened to it after having some time in between. Doesnt matter to me, because live is life.;)
Listened to the new album last night...IT KICKS ASS! Not a bad song on it! andf the remakes of the "klassics" are awesome! Black Diamond never sounded better! THREE more days till I see 'em at MSG!!
I only sort of agree. The original line-up didn't suck, musically, until 1979. post-Peter, the remaining 3 were tight with Eric Carr. After the Reunion, they got really bad on the Farewell Tour. All 4 of them just going through the motions. It's great to see the band, as a unit, is back in such great shape.

I was in the audience for this performance. It was awesome!

Precisely! And thank you.

Josie Cat27 might not b their idea/d-cision though
Two KISS drummers under one roof....
A brilliant song by Paul Stanley 👏 👍👍
I can't help but think of Sonic the Hedgehog whenever I hear Sonic Boom.
Great to see KISS rocking in 2009....Been a fan since 1976...33 years. Seen them live more than any other rock band.
God bless Kiss , the rock& roll and the United States thank you for your amazing music and culture . Greetings from Argentina
damn gene and paul are in their 60s and they still look the same and badass!
I have been a big " KISS FAN" all of my life and they are still the greatest band in the land.. and this is too mention " ERIC THE FOX CARR " R.I.P BRO..

Kiss still the best live show out there, no one can even come close.

I saw Paul today is his birthday, he is in great shape, also got to see one of his new guitars covered with crystals .Awesome.
I am so glad to have gotten to see the original band in concert twice.
Shit hot, what a performance! Can't wait to see them in May for the first time, Kiss showing todays bands how its done!
These guys are great.....forever.
So cool that Anton Fig was watching from the side stage and he recorded Dynasty and Unmasked.
KISS RULES!! Awesome band to see in concert- very entertaining and you get your money's worth!
I met them the night before in Boston, I made Gene cry!!! I KISS ARMY FOREVER!!!!
KISS ROCKS.....will get to see them for the 24th time live in the twin cities november 7th. Who else can rock like these guys at there age.............please don't say the Stones

Gotta love the new uniforms also!
Great performance. Love the new music.
this performance totally kicks ass...the song really comes alive in front of an audience. great stuff.

Like to add any updates or edits to this comment? 😂
I would say this has to be one of their best TV performances...damn!!!!...they kick so much more ass in small places.
This was AWESOME! contrary to the previous poster, Tommy Thayer wailed all over Frehley. AND he did it in key & in tune! And Paul sang just fine. Sonic Boom is an excellent record!
Whatever anyone says... this album proved...KISS have still got it!!!! great stuff.
The first hit from KISS in 11 years and new material since Psycho Circus in 1998. You may call them a lot of things, but don't you DARE call them washed up.

All over, now, 2024.
Ok I have been a Kiss fan since I was 7. I am 37 today and I have to say Tommy and Eric are better. They are tight here.
"Hey, kids. You like the rock 'n' roll?"
Tommy Rocks!
I only sort of agree. The original line-up didn't suck, musically, until 1979. post-Peter, the remaining 3 were tight with Eric Carr. After the Reunion, they got really bad on the Farewell Tour.
