Tha k you for reinforcing that for me. I pray more understand that Morals are good thing, good for the soul, good for those we engage with, good for the world. When people think of God and religion, I don't think they know its all about them and God, one on one. I pray for conversions. Peace be with you❤

Similar to the tuning of a violin. Every moral choice tunes our soul toward the eternal, toward God. Preparing us for our coming transition. Yes, we become a “good” person here on Earth. However, we also align ourselves with God and this feeling of “becoming” continues into eternity and leads us HOME. The stakes couldn’t be higher.

I agree. That's why it is so important to talk to your children when they err.....not yell at them or punish them, but TALK to them.
Adults, too. That's what friends are for. Judging people behind closed doors without talking to them might make you feel temporarily superior, but it doesn't help build a solid brick wall.

Good comments and advice Bishop. I believe God smiles when we make good, moral choices.
We do still sin, even daily, (I speak for myself) and He still loves us unconditionally. But Christ wants to hear us confess and ask His forgiveness.

I need to humbly ask a question. In Isiah 64:6 it says that our good works are like filthy rags. Is that because they were done apart from Christ?

Just as a comment on the sandwich choice (turkey or ham). It is important to acknowledge that a living creature ceased to exist for you to continue existence alive.

Not one great heroic act. One good humble act at a time
I'm am trying to stand back to my feet after decades of crawling around in the dust.
I see glimmers of light. In the midst of a 1000 voices screaming at me, telling me I'm worthless, telling me there is no hope left for me, I still reach up to God with a trembling hand.
With the time I have left remaining, with just enough strength to get through the day, I hope in God.
Remember me Lord. I have nothing to give you. I can only ask you to carry me home now.
Teach me how to walk again. Step by step so that some day I can once again follow you were you go.

The decision between a turkey and ham sandwich may not be a decision that tests morality, but it is one that tests one's good taste (in more ways than one)

  • @scottperry7035

Why didn't you actually give an example of exactly what a moral act is? You just left me and how many others not even understanding what a moral act really is. This is no help whatsoever

    • @softyshow
      @softyshow หลายเดือนก่อน +1

i think it was implicitly defined, it's an act that DOES form your moral character in the positive or negative. a sinful act would also be a moral act, in a negative way. but a decision to avoid that sin, is also a moral act, positively forming who i am.

A moral act is an act of conscience. Is the act loving God and neighbor. Is it a act of desiring good for the other. Is it an act which pleases God in following His Commandments. ❤
