This is literally one of the most artful and mesmerizing videos I've ever seen. And to make it even more iconic, it was the prototipo! The 3 seat design study that would become the 206 gt, and then the 246 gt. Absolutely riveting story, absolutely hypnotizing visuals. Thank you.
An absolute masterclass in short films. Thank you Simon and team for bringing this story and car back to life for the world to appreciate. What a time to be alive.
I just got tears in my eyes and chills up and down my arms. When I first came to the Blackhawk Collection to meet with Don Williams and Rick Cole about representing them, I roamed around the Blackhawk Museum and sat in the center seat of a 365 Berlinetta. I'll never forget that experience, the car brightly lit in a very dark room. I recall looking out the front windshield across the room at the B.A.T.S. and other incredible rolling works of art. This video just took me back thirty years!
É un video unico, di una meraviglia, da lasciare senza fiato. Una storia italiana incredibile. Significa riportare alla vita emozioni, siete i migliori in assoluto.
In the workshop I have the Umberto Agnelli FIAT Dino spider , now do you think that little boy witnessed Umberto arriving at the stadium in his Dino ? Beautiful film !
had the privilege to see this very car in the garage while it was in final stages of resto this past summer, I just appeared on the doors there out of curiosity and the guys took me for a show around tour, but didn't allow any photos, which was actually a plus in a certain way, I felt like I was let in on world's biggest secret :D
If I ruled this world, I would decree that every social media site place this channel on their homepage. Consider it my kindest act because like that child, I believe nothing superior to Kidston. Art lives here.
Whooowwww, a masterpiece of a short film, short film that thells not only a story but feeds the imatignation. The watch over the shirt...can only be mister A, the father of sprezzatura. In 3 weeks from now my son and I have a planned visit to Turin, next to many highlight of the city, yes Lingotto is on the list. Turin always feels a bit like coming home! Thank you Simon for this film, the elegant and beautifull automobils and exposing Turin in a nice matter.
I spent eleven years in Italy's financial frontier; this, for me, is a celebration of Italian industry.🥰 (And Turin remains my favorite place in Italy🥰)
Two unforgettable cars. The Ferrari 365 P and the Fiat 125 with the TO A00000 licence plate. Gianni Agnelli had a lot of luck, being rich, handsome, smart and brilliant. And a life full of tragedies. Starting with his father's death, up to his son's suicide. He failed as an industrialist, but he was a man of the perfect taste. He had the most beautiful women, the most beautiful yachts (Tomahawk, Agneta, Capricia, Extrabeat and Stealth), the most beautiful cars. He died before the end of Fiat corporation. Sit tibi terra levis.
When I was young I had a model of this 365 Berlinetta, it was so unusual with it's 3 seats and central driving position. I remember it was white with a black interior but the thing I do not recall it having was the spoiler on the rear bodywork, it looks out of place to me. All in all a great video and thanks for sharing and bringing back childhood memories.
@peterhealey2668 : There's two of these, that's why. The first one was and still is white and didn't have the spoiler, (so that'll be what your model was based on). It's still around, (failed to sell at auction in 2014 but reached a 23.5 million bid!]. Agnelli saw the first one at its debut at the Paris motor show and commissioned one for himself - but specified this silver paint, plus the stripe and rear spoiler. This one came without the huge sunroof but that was soon added. [On the white one it's perspex, I don't know what this one is made of). This Agnelli one during its lifetime was repainted in metallic blue and then red. So it's been repainted back to silver some time since the red. * 'Wikipedia is your friend'...
Absolutely love and adore Kidston’s videos, celebrating classic vintage, beautiful automobiles of an era long gone by wonderfully making videos with understated elegance, and class that matches the vehicles displayed. Every car shares a story...how fortunate we may all be for such moments in our hectic lives to enjoy such artistry. Quomodo Sedet Sola Civitas
It's a shame there's not an Oscar category that Kidston's movies could be entered for, cos they'd win all of 'em. I don't drive my "special" car at this time of the year cos of the weather, however I get to drive it vicariously through watching Kidston's great movies. Thank you guys??
Beautiful film, very interesting story. I can only recommend the hotel at the Lingotto by the way. The Lingotto is the building with the test track on the roof you can see in the video. It was the former headquarters of Fiat. The Agnelli family has always had large stocks on the company. Unfortunately, when I was in Turini in 2020, everything was closed and I wasnt able to visit the rooftop. It was one of the few hotels tho that was open. Personell was very nice and the rooms were good, too. Mister Kidston, you did again an outstanding job to portray a very special car. Turini at night has such an atmosphere. I also remember the tunnel you filmed in, near the Lingotto. Although I remember the streets were very bumpy. I love the sound of the car and the elegant design of the 1960s.
I believe I've been following Simon's videos here and on Vimeo for about 10 years now, and I'm always amazed that each one is an entertaining work of art. The marvelous cars and captivating stories always have me lusting after the next offering.
Much appreciation to Simon et al. A special car, a special story, and another superb video adventure where Emanuel is not playing an assassin! Merry Christmas!
Thank you for the attention to detail. That car. That building. The watch strapped around the outside of the driver's shirtsleeve. Forza! My memory is fuzzy, but I saw a car just in the annual imported car show in San Francisco. I thought it was gold but maybe that was the 275GTS on the stand with Pedro Rodriguez inside.
