own five cars and one of them is a T-Cross. It's the car both my wife and I prefer to drive the most around town. It's just a delight to drive, has a superbly solid feel (especially love the ways the doors close) and the interior space is like Dr Who's phone booth, in that the diminutive exterior size belies the true space inside. Love it.
@@Pipsicle330 Yeah agree. Head and shoulder room are great also for such a small package. Little one litre donk scoots along surprisingly well too. Has plenty of torque. Very underrated car
Very true. Unlike a lot of wheezy Japaneezy cars that feel like you have to wring their neck on the freeway, I find I have to keep pulling this one back. Does a genuine 209km/hr. So I discovered
Bought one of these for my wife in 23, aside of the hard plastics everywhere, the fuel tank is quite small feels like shes filling up every week, heaps of creaking, and constant knocking from the rear while stationary, lucky its not mine she loves it.. good to see the new model looks better with better quality.
Got one on order, the automatic 115ps in Match spec in Rubber ducky yellow ❤ hopefully should be a July delivery. I currently have a Hyundai bayon, nice car, very nippy and fun to drive but just a bit too low down and and small for us
Don’t see the point of the T-Roc. I’m 6ft and can sit behind my own driving position in a T-Cross. Can’t in a T-Roc. The T-Cross is better packaged, cheaper and all the space you could need. Plus Rubber Ducky yellow 😆👍🏻
My parents did exactly this, went from a Tiguan to a T-Cross as they realised they could get a smaller car without compromising on interior space too much.
@@BuckleUpShow (2) is definitely not applicable for me :) So when stationary in traffic or on a hill, you don't need it (i.e. it wouldnt roll around). How strong is the 1.0 TSI with automatic gearbox? Great review btw
No, you’ll just keep your foot on the brake pedal when stationary so it won’t matter. The engine is pretty gutsy, it’s has 200nm torque and it’s basically straight from the up! GTI. My parents have the 115ps engine and it’s plenty fast enough for them.
@@BuckleUpShow I ended up getting the T-Cross ordered after a test drive and this review! I also tried the A1 and Polo but this one fits the bill. Something interesting for you: We have 4 trims in Malta and Style Plus is just under the R-Line. T-Cross Style Plus has notably more extras in it than the equivalent Polo does. To get the specs for the latter in line with T-Cross, the price ends up being similar! I also used your A1 review to get an idea on the A1 but a test drive helped me decided firmly. Getting the 115bps engine.
Best version of this car is the style, comes with all iq matrix lighting plus only model with front and rear light bars . Iq is optional on R line £ 1000 !
@@BuckleUpShow yes you did and quite right too. I had to juggle all models and options to come out with best for me. Tried all other Makes at this price point and T cross was perfect for me. Keep up the good work 👍
Typical VW top of the range R line and fog lights are an option without an electric boot release What makes this car top of the range ? I believe that you cannot get a sunroof, a push towards the t roc. Whats it like in twatt ?
It’s an R-line so it has different front and rear bumper designs, different wheels, and more standard interior features like the digital drivers display. Never been to Twatt, but I’ve always fancied it.
If only there was a place I could watch even more Buckle Up content...

It does the job really well. Glad to hear you’re loving yours!
Yeah, the interior space is really impressive. Can never understand why anyone gets a T-Roc, rear legroom not as good as its smaller brother.

Definite improvement in quality for this facelift.
You bought it for your wife. Really? You must be so proud.
@@leejourdain8486 Not sure what you mean with that comment, unless you're proud of that comment like your playlist 😉
Fab video! I have a 21 plate and love it! Sad to see the front fogs as standard go! I think they look so cool :(
The IQ lights mean you don’t really need separate fog lights so it’s not too much of a loss

This will certainly fit the bill then

Why does it have a manual handbrake for an Automatic gearbox? When would you use that manual handbrake?
Two reasons:
1. When the vehicle is parked
2. For performing sick handbrake turns

My brother likes the coupe version of this, Taigo. I was in shock that a 1.0l is over £450 p/m
We drove the Taigo a couple of years ago, but I think unless you really prefer the styling, the T-Cross makes more sense to most people.

I am a big fan of Rubber Ducky Yellow
Us too!
I bet VW dont let their customer choose a non metalic brown colour name any time soon😊
Unfortunately not, but we like to think that’s an option in an alternative universe
Looks like a VW Golf on stilts....
It’s actually a VW Polo on stilts
