I caught the biggest sheepshead of my life yesterday on the intercoastal side of Pass-A-Grille. 26 inches. I didn't have a scale to weigh him. I was stoked. A lot of wind and a little cold yesterday. But I ate well last night. 😀
You guys won me over on God, Guns and Guts! :D PS My buddy and I fish the docks, but we also snorkel and spearfish them. The water gets murky, but still pretty cool.
Several years ago I was privileged to watch several sheepshead stalk my Silly Willie jig in the surf at Boca Grande Pass. I caught, photographed, and released several that morning. Until then, I didn't know sheepshead would hit an artificial lure! The effectiveness of the crabs shown in this video could probably be enhanced by some sort of scent lure.
Have you tried the the coco crab from Westin!? I’ve got a few of them in different colors, they are exactly like the cranka crab only smaller…it’s killer! Also an insider member 😉👍
In my experience cranka crabs are awful because they cost so much and get snagged so easily. Currently using the savage gear crab and it works just fine, really looking forward to your results because chasebaits looks just as good if not better because of the action when it sinks
Couple questions (I may have missed you saying these): 1) How quickly do you set the hook after feeling a Sheep bite? 2) What state & GENERAL area are you in?
Hey bro, it’s about a mid length set. Not super early but not late either, it doesn’t matter too much. Just set later in the winter because they get lethargic. They have people from the Texas coast up into Virginia

I have all of these crabs, they don't work for me, have tried everything with them including adding scent. Fish must be smarter in Charlotte Harbor. Pin fish eat/ruin them...that's about it. But I don't fish canals. They also don't work well with any current.
I hope Catfish don’t take the crab, there’s so many Catfish in the canal off my parents dock in Cape Coral FL it’s been problem for years for me. There’s about 30 huge Snook right under the dock I keep trying to get but over the last 10 years I can’t get a bite. I’ll try Sheepshead now. Since I moved and fished here in SC, I have not caught a single catfish and it’s been a true blessing lol!
I really enjoy your videos, loaded with good information, tips, and pointers, but I see that all of your crab lures are hooked from the back, and centered. Have you tried hooking them from the side? While crabs CAN walk straight backwards, it's more realistic, and natural for them to go sideways. You often talk about making the presentation look natural, but I'm not seeing it with these baits. I grew up working on shrimp boats around Rockport/Fulton, mainly, where Harvey tried to take a bite out of Texas. We are... Rockport Strong. Keep up the good work. I'm not an insider, YET, but I'll get there.
You say nothing about the size of the hooks. Nothing about the weight of the fake crab. How strong the current is. Where the best place to use and not to use the fake crab your using. 👎🏼
Why would anyone ever spend $15 on a stupid lure when the bait is free and I’m sure real is better than fake is that what this world is coming to the fake is better than real I don’t think so
There’s day where artificials will catch more. Especially with the fact your lure is in the water much longer than when constantly changing out your bait and wasting time.
@@Saltstrong Curious if they work. I'll be in Nokomis for a week and I would rather use artificial than try to deal with live bait. By the way, I have enjoyed learning while watching your videos.

Joe Simonds casting around docks like diamonds! Nice video. Sheepshead always a blast.

What size Cranka Crab are you using 85 or 65mm
I got UNDERWATER BAIT FORENSICS COURSE and it is awesome.
What color chase bait are you using ?
Reminds of the canals in Apollo Beach.....no fish there though 😉
Is that Plano box the 3600 or 3700 size?
Hey! Check out the full blog on our website and you can ask there. That way, the coaches can respond directly. You can find it here: bit.ly/2NMzEVl
@@Saltstrong I saw the blog and the box wasn't listed.
I've heard you can catch these on the fly. I'd like to give that a try.
Bars
Small crab flys or shrimp flys sight fished works, I like the colder times of year
Joe, dont close the bail too early. Crab will pendulum back towards you and not go straight down.
Nice my friend 👍❤️🤝🙏

They are in hampton virginia, right next to newport news on the chesapeake bay
when you fish these fishing docks for sheepshead. Do you go in during rising high tide and high slack?

I was wondering about them current. Maybe added weight?
Is high tide or low tide better in the canals?
It doesn't seem to matter very much.

Thanks for watching and leaving the comment! How could we have improved on this video?

It's all a Gimmick in my opinion

Really guys $200 to 8000 reals and that doesn't include rods now I understand where the money goes!
