But it's a different time. We no longer need to hide our secrets and put up a false facade to look good to others. This story is as much Allison's as it is Stephen's. Sharing her story will help a lot of people who have lost a loved one to suicide, trauma and the addiction that often comes along with trauma. Tyler Perry and Dax Shepherd give a moving interview about trauma on this week's episode of Armchair Expert. Everyone should give it a listen. I hope the families can find healing.

I have lost a husband to suicide 11 years ago, I know what it does to families I’ve experienced it first hand. It will take many years for the in-laws and outlaws to get along I know I’ve gone through it. The most important thing right now is the children and holding on whilst you go through every single grieving stage there’s many to come trust I know I’ve been through it. Allison said Twitch didn't even share what he was going through with her and that she found out the truth after finding his journal. She said he told her he was just going thru a low period in his life like he had times before with his on/off again depression. If he wouldn't even share the real extent of what he was going thru or the details of his past that haunted him, why on Earth would she think it's ok to put it out for the entire world to see?! I think that is a huge betrayal and I feel like the real truth of why she did it was 100% selfish because she knew people were placing blame on her over his death and her weird behavior the day it happened and other days since then. Let people talk, her loyalty should've been to her husband, not a rumor mill. And obviously people know he was dealing with something, you dont just take your own life if you're happy and not a care in the world. We didn't need to know details that he obviously didn't want known. To his family, I can only speak for myself when saying this but Twitch was such a great person, such a strong presence and even if the SA and drug use is true, it doesn't make me feel any differently about him. Usually we say rest in peace but that doesn't fit him well. May he have all of paradise dancing to the beat of his drum up there, just like he did when he was on Ellen! Allison is an incredibly strong woman. She has handled Stephen's death with grace. The kids are lucky to have a mother like her.
I can understand Stephen's mother wanting to protect her son's image. But it's a different time. We no longer need to hide our secrets and put up a false facade to look good to others. This story is as much Allison's as it is Stephen's. Sharing her story will help a lot of people who have lost a loved one to suicide, trauma and the addiction that often comes along with trauma. Tyler Perry and Dax Shepherd give a moving interview about trauma on this week's episode of Armchair Expert. Everyone should give it a listen. I hope the families can find healing.
I think his wife probably knows his adult life the best. Being open about your trauma can be healing and helpful to others.
And yes, it is in a way also the wife's and kids trauma bc his wife carried it with him as well as the kids. Family trauma is often generational until finally someone works on it.
