The great schism? The Bishop of Rome (the Pope) had a schism with the Orthodox Church sometime around 1000 AD. The orthodox didn’t believe one bishop should be supreme above others. Before that, there was only one church, Jesus’ church.
@@Powerranger-le4up Incorrect. For instance, there's no evidence that Peter was ever over Rome, and Peter accepts Paul's rebuke. Paul was over gentiles, while as far as we know, Peter worked mainly on Jews. The first mention of Peter being in Rome was something like 3-500 years after his death. Plus, Catholicism, especially the polity, came about thanks to Romans trying to legislate the church, not because of Jesus.
@@SeanWinters why do you lie?? Ignatius of Antioch “Not as Peter and Paul did, do I command you [Romans]. They were apostles, and I am a convict” (Letter to the Romans 4:3 [A.D. 110]). Dionysius of Corinth “You [Pope Soter] have also, by your very admonition, brought together the planting that was made by Peter and Paul at Rome and at Corinth; for both of them alike planted in our Corinth and taught us; and both alike, teaching similarly in Italy, suffered martyrdom at the same time” (Letter to Pope Soter [A.D. 170], in Eusebius, History of the Church 2:25:8). Irenaeus “Matthew also issued among the Hebrews a written Gospel in their own language, while Peter and Paul were evangelizing in Rome and laying the foundation of the Church” (Against Heresies, 3, 1:1 [A.D. 189]). “But since it would be too long to enumerate in such a volume as this the succession of all the churches, we shall confound all those who, in whatever manner, whether through self-satisfaction or vainglory, or through blindness and wicked opinion, assemble other than where it is proper, by pointing out here the succession of the bishops of the greatest and most ancient church known to all, founded and organized at Rome by the two most glorious apostles, Peter and Paul, that church which has the tradition and the faith which comes down to us after having been announced to men by the apostles. With that church [of Rome], because of its superior origin, all the churches must agree, that is, all the faithful in the whole world, and it is in her that the faithful everywhere have maintained the apostolic tradition” (ibid., 3, 3, 2). “The blessed apostles [Peter and Paul], having founded and built up the church [of Rome], they handed over the office of the episcopate to Linus. Paul makes mention of this Linus in the letter to Timothy [2 Tim. 4:21]. To him succeeded Anacletus, and after him, in the third place from the apostles, Clement was chosen for the episcopate. He had seen the blessed apostles and was acquainted with them. It might be said that he still heard the echoes of the preaching of the apostles and had their traditions before his eyes. And not only he, for there were many still remaining who had been instructed by the apostles. In the time of Clement, no small dissension having arisen among the brethren in Corinth, the church in Rome sent a very strong letter to the Corinthians, exhorting them to peace and renewing their faith. . . . To this Clement, Evaristus succeeded . . . and now, in the twelfth place after the apostles, the lot of the episcopate [of Rome] has fallen to Eleutherius. In this order, and by the teaching of the apostles handed down in the Church, the preaching of the truth has come down to us” (ibid., 3, 3, 3). Gaius “It is recorded that Paul was beheaded in Rome itself, and Peter, likewise, was crucified, during the reign [of the Emperor Nero]. The account is confirmed by the names of Peter and Paul over the cemeteries there, which remain to the present time. And it is confirmed also by a stalwart man of the Church, Gaius by name, who lived in the time of Zephyrinus, bishop of Rome. This Gaius, in a written disputation with Proclus, the leader of the sect of Cataphrygians, says this of the places in which the remains of the aforementioned apostles were deposited: ‘I can point out the trophies of the apostles. For if you are willing to go to the Vatican or to the Ostian Way, you will find the trophies of those who founded this Church’” (Disputation with Proclus [A.D. 198] in Eusebius, Church History 2:25:5).
Sourhern baptist confession.. isnt that where certain liberal churches have taken hold? The church where i live removed the term baptist from their proper name and called it something liberal and open sounding. I was considering attending it but when i see that i eschew it.
Thank you brother, my wife and I are going through discipleship right now and am learning alot. This really helps reinforcing what i've learned. My wife and I were baptized last Sunday. Praise God!
Helpful video, thank you! I'm not for nor against "Baptist." I was raised Roman Catholic and now "Protestant." I was born and raised in Sac Town and now live in Houston. Blessings everyone. 🙏

THANK YOU VERY MUCH ITS GIVE ME A COURAGE BY YOUR MESSAGE TO CONTINUE SERVING THE LORD SPECIALLY IN OUR NEW OUTREACHES. MARANATHA! TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
Exactly. So many churches have turned away from Christ nowadays and the gospel to fables of men and other nonsense. Some even go against the Bible and support gay marriage or even ordain gay clergy. It’s a shame what has happened in the U.S. and western hemisphere.
Thank you to Pastor Anderson and Pastor Jiminez. For the dissenters; Do not judge the Word by your Hollywood outlook, instead be honest with yourself. Do the Laws and guidelines of Christ help or harm someone who follows them? Do they contribute to a healthier and safer society, or are the wages of sin truly death? You can find the answers by being honest with yourself and searching the Eternal Word of God. All the best.
I was raised Baptist. I was baptized at 13. My brothers and sisters, Baptists are a part of a greater movement called Protestantism. Protestants believe in Sola Scriputra, it is Latin, it means, the “Word alone”. Martin Luther had this at the center of his reasoning for breaking away from the Catholic Church. But as a Baptist, I learned in my adulthood that there is the Church Christ’s original Apostles founded, and it is called the Orthodox Church! It comes before Protestants or Catholics, and here is the thing, they are the church that put the New Testament into pages! Truly, I believe in the Lord’s word, and Christ has a bride, and it is the church, and that is the Orthodox Church that was founded by Christ’s apostle’s, and they transcribed Jesus’ ministry into pages. Trust me, you can fact check me by researching the church’s history. If the Apostle Paul walked among us today, he’d recognize an Orthodox service, but a Baptist service would confuse him. Much love, trade potlucks for fasting, God Bless!
Orthodox church is 32d ad and it does pagan practices and also does not try to mission or spread the gospel to win souls to christ. Gregorian chants sound evil and pagan too.
You believe the King James Bible? Not the Lord Jesus Christ? What of the at least ten different revisions of the King. James Bible with over 20000 differences do you believe? Also what did people believe before 1611? Isn't the gospel about Christ and him crucified? Not some archaic imperfect uninspired translation of scripture called the King James Bible
"15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 15:2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. "1:5 To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. 1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 1:7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 1:9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed." Galatians 1:5-9. "2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9. "3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 3:26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. 3:27 Where is boasting then? I will be doing a 6 part rebuttal on this video, today I will be reviewing the obvious errors and lies this untruthful origination spreads. 4:07 There lineage does not go back to the Apostles or Christ. The majority of the groups they claim to be Baptist were either closer to Catholicism or a type of Gnosticism/Manichaeism, I will be posting more information of some of the groups when the are mentioned and will be doing a comparison of their beliefs to the modern day Baptist beliefs. 5:51 It goes to show the incompetence of some of these "Pastors" if they only thought through some of the things they said I would have a little more respect for them. his claim which can be proven to be historically wrong is that he is claiming that in 30 AD there were New Testament Church's, really New Testament Church's in 30 AD. its very likely that not a LETTER of the New Testament was even written at this time and the Church was functioning solely on Oral Tradition. 9:30 you say that Christian was a derogatory term used to mock them and I would agree BUT I wanted to point out at which Church they was First called Christians and that was Antioch. the story of Acts 11 took place about 43-44 AD and Peter was there for about 7 years before Going to Rome. His successor was Saint Evodius who then died in about 69 AD then Saint Ignatius became Bishop at Antioch. this is troubling because St Ignatius is in no way, size, shape or form Baptist but closely resembles what is taught in the Catholic Church. You can read his writing's that we are very sure he did write though their are some that are falsely acclaimed to him. There are seven that most scholars agree was written by him and they are The Epistle to the Ephesians, The Epistle to the Magnesians, The Epistle to the Trallians, The Epistle to the Romans, The Epistle to the Philadelphians, The Epistle to the Smyrnaeans, The Epistle to Polycarp, a bishop of Smyrna. During the beginning of the reformation many of his writings were claimed to be false because they are so Catholic, Later Textual Criticism strongly favors the writings are authentically his. 17:07 the Council of Nicaea was called to combat the Arian Heresy it was NOT this conspiratorial meeting these Men want you to believe. if you want to see what was discussed at the Council of Nicaea we have the complete Work of the Council. The university of California at Northridge puts it this was "The full texts of the 20 Canons issued by the Council survive, as well as ancient summaries of the texts, and the famous Nicene Creed." so nothing conspiratorial, just lack of investigation or pure misinformation done by these Men, we will be charitable and just call them ignorant rather then call them deceitful though the latter MAY very well be. 17:23 they were called Heretics because that is what they was. they denied the Deity of Christ. that's Heresy. 17:58 I would like to ask this man what on heavens earth would make him think Waldensians or Paulicians would be banned at the Council of Nicaea? THEY DIDNT EVEN EXIST YET!!! Paulicians were founded the mid 7th century 300 years after Nicaea happened the Waldensians didn't come along until 100 years after the Great Schism. this is utter foolishness and Parroting at its finest. well what about the Albigensian's? nope that's even farther away that's the 12th-13th century, what about the Anabaptist? now at this time any well informed Baptist successionist will be biting at the bit to correct me so when it comes along to the Anabaptist its important to know that Anabaptist was a 15th century Group But there was Groups before that that was labeled as Anabaptist because the word just means rebaptizer. so the Church grouped all the Anabaptist as 1 because they all rebaptized. that DOES NOT MEAN these are the same Group. they are VERY different. one quote used to support Baptist Sucessionism is a quote by Cardinal Stanislaus Hosius but a later critic of the quote proves exactly what I said, that Anabaptist as a term can mean many different groups it does not mean these groups would be anywhere near what the Anabaptist of the 15th century was. 18:53 do you have ANY evidence of that? the reason I am rebutting that in this way is because I know the answer is no. welp we are 20 minutes in and already lies as expected. I will be doing the next 20 minutes next week the Lord be willing. its ashamed that i am doing such a thorough rebuttal of this but if this is what The Lord has put on my heart to do then I will be obedient.
Excellent summary, especially for me since I could only make it through 20 minutes of this. I'm Eastern Orthodox and I found this to be more like satire versus a legitimate documentary. Someone should explain to them where the Bible actually came from, and that it would have been absurd to wait until adulthood to Baptize someone! That doesn't even address the other dozens of inaccuracies and revisionist history shown here.
You must be a sda and can't rightly divide Scripture. Do you know that James was an Apostle to the Jews. Jews need a sign the Scripture says. When we are saved by grace we keep the commandments because we love Christ who died for us. It's because of love and not work. No one ever got saved by works. No one. The law was given to the lawless and not the righteous. It's common sense
For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.” ~ 1 Corinthians 1:17
Baptism is like an outward profession that we have trusted Christ as our Lord and Saviour. Old person is dead, buried and then risen again to newness and eternal life. We identify with Christ. Buried is under the water and not sprinkled.
yes those are in public domain. you just need to compare sources and what the bible teaches. there's no one source that i would say as the one most reliable other than the bible. independent sources are great
I was given an assignment to do two research papers on culture behaviors this is one of the cultural behaviors that I picked I’m also going to cite work and quotes from it so excited 😆 God is good!
The Epistle of Ignatius to the Trallians 89-117AD For, since you are subject to the bishop as to Jesus Christ, you appear to me to live not after the manner of men, but according to Jesus Christ, who died for us, in order, by believing in His death, you may escape from death. It is therefore necessary that, as you indeed do, so without the bishop you should do nothing, but should also be subject to the presbytery, as to the apostle of Jesus Christ, who is our hope, in whom, if we live, we shall [at last] be found. It is fitting also that the deacons, as being [the ministers] of the mysteries of Jesus Christ, should in every respect be pleasing to all. For they are not ministers of meat and drink, but servants of the Church of God. They are bound, therefore, to avoid all grounds of accusation [against them], as they would do fire.
The Christians who were persecuted were the Roman Catholics. The christians who fought the early heresies of the wrong gospel were the Roman Catholics. The christians who wrote all the creeds and assembled the Bible were the Roman Catholics. Time to come home to mother church. We need to stand together as Christ asked us.
@@orangemanbadwhat you call catholic pre Constantine is an anachronism. The oppressed Christians did not refer to themselves as such. We do have the catholic church burning people at the stake as an example for reading the Bible in their own language or learning thw Lords prayer in English. A very good explanation of Baptist history, but Pastor Jimenez's comments re incense are odd. Zachariah, the father of John the Baptist, had the lot of burning incense in the Temple. The golden censer was in the Holy of Holies. Angels offer incense at the Throne of God. Lk 1:8 Rev 8:3, 5 Heb 9:4 There is ample mention of burning incense in a thurible or censer throughout the Bible! Why would the pastor make fun of this, speaking as if he doesn't even know what this is? This greatly takes away from his testimony. Also, there were many holy bishops known for their Godly life and miracles who were present at Nicaea. I would like to see a more in depth, honest discussion of the early Church period, holding to the Truth without unnecessarily disparaging that which is Biblical.
He said: "why the Roman Catholic does all these weird, like Eastern mys(?)...there's like all these...candles...when you go to their funerals they've got I don't know like some bag, like vacuum bag that they're dusting out....." The Eastern Orthodox use incense at every single church service, the priest or deacon censing the people as a blessing. "Let my prayer rise before Thee as incense set before Thee" Ps 141:2. The way he speaks is as if he doesn't understand the concept of censing or offering incense in worship, which is shown not only in the Old Testament, but also in the New. This article illustrates it all very well: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incense_offering. The question is not so much about the continued use of incense in New Testament worship as about why Pastor Jimenez would speak in such a disparaging way as if ignorant of the mention throughout the Bible of its use. To make a solid, honest and good defence of the Baptist faith it a disservice when any pastor (and I've heard many others do the same) simply speaks almost mockingly about a given thing without going more seriously into the history and theology of why it is an aberration, false doctrine, error or 'tradition of men'.
Correct. Incense has been used since the OT and is mentioned in Revelation as being symbolic of our prayers... you mentioned early Christian Bishops - does your Church have bishops?
The Believers in antiquity never called themselves Christians. They never called themselves Baptist. There is only one Church in the Bible. Romans 16:16
@@DiscerningWordBaptistChurch Latin Greek Aramaic Chaden Hebrew And English, my languages Learn your history there's no such thing as a Baptist Church in the Bible. What's really interesting is the difference between Calvinist and free will baptists, and how Calvinists keep attempting to, for lack of better word, "slither" their way Into power within the baptist world... And what's even more interesting is that Calvinists used to be the majority of baptists, at least in the English tradition.
“They’re emptying a vacuum bag… you don’t get that eastern mysticism from the word of God” Exodus 30: 34 And the Lord said unto Moses, Take unto thee sweet spices, stacte, and onycha, and galbanum; these sweet spices with pure frankincense: of each shall there be a like weight: 35 And thou shalt make it a perfume, a confection after the art of the apothecary, tempered together, pure and holy: 36 And thou shalt beat some of it very small, and put of it before the testimony in the tabernacle of the congregation, where I will meet with thee: it shall be unto you most holy. Let us remember that Christianity is not a Western construct, but a truth originating in the Middle East.
Burning incense in the Tabernacle or Temple is not the same thing as burning stuff in a hanging ball above the dead bodies. We ARE the temples, we don't have need of this, this is Old Testament ritual, which we don't need. Conversely, plenty pagans do this.
“I believe in pastoral authority. I don’t answer to anyone but God and I have complete autonomy of my church!” You mean like the Pope right? Interesting 🤔

@@ryanpadgett2549 don't nitpick the man, he just meant that compared to cults like roman catholics which have this elaborate chain of commands which is not biblical, baptists have just what the bible teach, that the pastor answers to God only when it comes to ministry related things.
@@DiscerningWordBaptistChurch Jehovah witnesses claim that they are “just following what the Bible says” too, and they don’t believe in the Trinity, the divinity of Christ, that hell is real, and only a 144,000 go to heaven. @@ryanpadgett2549 Pretty simple, if a pastor becomes evil, you can join a different church and not be "excommunicated". If you hate the pope, you can't leave the Catholic church. This is why westborough (a Calvinist "Baptist" church) was always so small. Men do not hold the keys to heaven, Jesus does.

need to specify and define repentance first in "salvation of the soul" context: Repentance = Correct - turn from unbelief to belief Repent of all sins as requirement to salvation of the soul ---- this is wrong
@@DiscerningWordBaptistChurch there is trouble in reconciling this to Christian worldview and Holy Scripture. The word "repent" *μετανοέω* means to change purpose, it is holistic. Meaning you change your purpose to that of God. Salvation includes becoming a new creation (2Corinthians 5:17) and offering your life and everything in it, including your actions and purpose/telos of being, as a living sacrifice to God (Romans 12:1-2). Acts 3:19 "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord." Acts 17:30-31 explicitly links repentance to salvation. There is no picture of salvation given in the New Testament that does not involve a total transformation of being.

As the son of a Baptist minister and educator I am still very puzzled about the racism embedded within the Southern Baptist convention followers as different from the Northern Baptist Convention. How this can be accepted and not condemned by the supposedly Baptist true faith is a problem for me to this day. Is it any wonder that the Sunday hour of 11-12 has been called the most racial segregated hour in the United States. Shame on this and not at all Christian.
First. Why would it be advantageous for Constantine to side with a religion so popularly hated when he’s the leader of THE world power? I think it’s strange that the speaker adopts a mocking tone and loaded language when describing the dream that completely redirects Constantine with no obvious motive or gain. Second, why were church leaders called bishops and why did the baptist religion change that tradition?
What historical basis have we for believing or knowing that there were Baptists that did not show up to the meeting with Constantine and what their beliefs and motives were for not doing so?
Why weren’t the good men that came out of the Catholic Church attending the baptist churches that you claim coexisted throughout this historic timeline?
90 % of so called Christians will say their saved through faith, but when they explain salvation, it's anything, but faith. They've been deceived so long, they are blind. All you have to do is look up definitions and believe God's Word. I don't care if the so called pastor, is dad, he's not worth going to hell over. Call him out 😊
same reason why calvinists want people to belong to either calvinists or armenian it's a false dichotomy which gives people no good choice and it's too much for them to actually have the right church.
not all and not all the time, but there's time to do that, as done by biblical prophets “Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.” Isaiah 58:1

Also the pentecostal church here does not teach "word of faith" doctrine but in this video that's mentioned as a teaching of thiers ( 54;03) . I agree with 99% of everything in this video. I am an independent fundamental KJB only pastor. However, as is often typical with Stephen Anderson, the pastor who made this video sadly has the very same unChristlike spirit when he preaches. People do not appreciate being talked down to (this is what Catholicism has also down for years). One does not have to speak in a hateful demeaning spirit in order to get their point across. If your desire is to win Catholics to Christ and Protestants to Christ speaking with hateful speeches not going to do that.

Doesn't the Eastern Orthodox church also use incense as well? I thought it was from the Old Testament priesthood. The Catholic church was probably already doing that before the schism. Not only that, the EO is very devoted to Mary as well, and the saints.
Yes, just as Revelation says our prayers raise to Heaven like incense - so the Catholic Church (and Orthodox Churches since 1054) have been using incense since before the Bible was canonized in 392
while i agree with much of this video, it does seem strange that it links Baptists to the Anabaptists and claims we came from them, then at about 46:47 he denounces the Amish for believing in works, BUT the Amish ARE Anabaptists! the Anabaptists (Amish, Mennonites, etc) were not the spiritual ancestors of Baptists. the Anabaptists rarely baptized by immersion, tho they did baptize only adults. many Menonnites are coming much closer to being Baptists, but they are not our forefathers
@@DiscerningWordBaptistChurch well I do know that the Anabaptists at the time of the Reformation did not baptize by immersion and that was over 500 yrs ago. Perhaps the video shouldve made a distinction, because anyone who has studied history knows that when you use the word "anabaptists" it refers to amish/mennonites. Strictly speaking, anyone who "baptizes again" could be called "anabaptist" so in that case mormons and jw's could be lumped into that word. also the Waldensians and Paulicians had some heretical beliefs. Waldensian churches still exist in Italy as I have visited one. The undertone of the video implies that there MUST be a "succession" of churches going back to Christ for Baptists to be valid. However, if ANYONE starts a New Testament church based on the qualifications of scripture, it is a valid church even tho it did not come from another Baptist church. Church successionism is just as faulty as the catholic doctrine of apostolic succession. One doesnt need to prove their church descends from other churches to be valid as Landmarkism teaches. "Spiritual Landmarkism" is the way to go on this.
They have renamed pope. No longer Vicar of Christ, Now bishop of Rome. Talking Christ out of his fake title is scary because in end days they will take Christ out to u nite all religions. They all recognize God but not our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
@DiscerningWordBaptistChurch Show you what? Museums have ancient codexes and manuscripts dating all the way back to the 1st Century AD. God said he'd preserve his Words and he did exactly that. We can read ancient copies of the original Greek texts and it proves that the Bible has been preserved since antiquity. To deny that God preserved the original Bible in its original form is flat out heresy.
Because It’s all lies. Either you guys are totally ignorant of church history, or you’re deliberately lying on purpose. Almost everything you’re saying here is lies and twisted truths. For example, IF the Roman Catholic Church started during Constantine, then how was their Popes and Saints going back to the time of Christ???? There are literally Saints, writings, documents, bishops, and popes that go all the way back to 30 A.D. 😂 You also had the Orthodox too.. except it was one Church combined. It split in 1054 AD., so your dates are also wrong, which proves my point. And technically, it wasn’t a clean split in exactly 1054. It happened over the course of hundreds of years slowly overtime actually (and it was for many many reasons). It was Not just two or three reasons. You guys should have me giving these lectures. @DiscerningWordBaptistChurch I agree with those verses, thanks for sharing, but they have nothing to do with my point. I wasn't talking about another gospel. I was talking about denominational division and the churches identity crisis. Calling oneself Baptist is a part of that divison. No where are we to ever call ourselves Baptist, Lutheran, Calvin's, Methodist, etc. Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 1,3 that this is divison and it is carnal, and calls those that do this babes. Something to consider when defending your denomination.
@@JosefGroup if you got one of the message of the documentary, which is true btw, it was OTHER people that called baptists as baptists, they just embrace the name like the name christian which other people have called the christians on the 1st century. also groups have to have name to tell them apart from others so there IS a need for that name. also so many 'christian' groups are just mocking true christianity by their mere existence so it's good to distance from those and be identified as different from those... so may we know what 'denomination' you belong to? are you christian?
I found this interesting (I have IFB roots) but lost interest after the few references to John Calvin as some sort of good example of a model christian. The claim is either disingenuous to historical truth or entirely ignorant of just how truly horrible he was.
This video has so many errors I wouldn’t even know where to begin and I’m a Baptist. You don’t have to rewrite church history to be a Baptist. I truly hope this video isn’t the only church history that people watching learn but, sadly, for many it probably will be. People believe what they want. Especially when it comes to religion.
I totally disagree that the name "Christian" as a derogatory term. God would not let Gentiles name his New Testament people and the language used in Acts 11:26 "χρηματίσαι" means it was given by the inspiration of God. Isaiah 56:5 foretold that God would give his people a new name and it makes no sense that God would let Syrians label his people. Nero's second wife, it is said, had Jewish sympathies and that may be one reason why Nero did what he did. Moreover, Christian persecution, under Simon Bar Kokhba continued all the way up to the disappearance of the Jewish State in A.D.136.
Baptist re-baptize people who are according to them falsely baptized, now I wonder, based on what Scripture is that done, as we never seen anyone in the Bible re-water baptized. If this were an option, Jesus would sure put that in the Scripture.

What’s ironic is how you bash the Pentecostal (I’m not Pentecostal I’m leaning Catholic) for not believing faith alone because they believe you have to be baptized but yet you say that unless you are immersed it’s not a valid baptism? That’s kinda a dumb self refuting idea.
no it's just properly putting things in their place understand that 2 different context below are considered and so the apparent contradiction to you 1. Context 1 - salvation of the soul - water baptism not required 2. Context 2 - outside of 'salvation of the soul' context - water baptism still not required for salvation of the soul but is commanded for some other thing, i.e. to follow righteousness expected of the Lord for His children, for rewards and such
@@DiscerningWordBaptistChurch as a leaning Catholic (A Church that actually can trace its lineage to the apostles through Ignatius of Antioch, Clement of Rome, Polycarp of Smyrna). I would side that Baptism is a sacrament and that God has bound himself to the sacraments BUT is not bound by them. In other words you can go to heaven without being baptized but that doesn’t negate that Baptism saves. All early church fathers taught unanimously baptismal regeneration. The Paulicians were NOT baptist but heretics who are in hell if they did not repent. It goes to show how the idea of baptist successionism is a sorry put together idea that’s of the devil.
@@DiscerningWordBaptistChurch “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.” Acts 2:38-39 KJV When St. Peter said the promise of baptism is for children, the word “children” (from the Greek teknon) also includes infants. This same word, teknon,is used later in Acts 21:21 to describe the circumcision of eight-day-old infants. The Greek word for “household,” oikos, refers to all the members of a family, adults as well as infants and children. The Book of Acts speaks of whole households being baptized, so any infants and children who belonged to these households would have been included. St. Paul baptizes Lydia with “her household” (16:15); the entire household of Cornelius (see 10:48; 11:14); the Philippian jailer “and all his family” (16:33); and the “household of Stephanus” (1 Cor 1:16). In none of these accounts is there ever any indication that infants and children are excluded from baptism.

I’m sorry, but the Baptist church was not established by Jesus and does not resemble the early church’s order of Mass. Jesus established one church and that was the Catholic Church. If you study early church history, you’ll come across what the early church was actually like. If you want to have access to all of Jesus’ teachings, it is through the teachings of the Catholic Church and the Catholic interpretation of the Bible.

Too bad it doesn’t go all the way back to Jesus. Early church history shows the church Jesus established was the Catholic Church.

Ignatius of Antioch
“Not as Peter and Paul did, do I command you [Romans]. They were apostles, and I am a convict” (Letter to the Romans 4:3 [A.D. 110]).
Dionysius of Corinth
“You [Pope Soter] have also, by your very admonition, brought together the planting that was made by Peter and Paul at Rome and at Corinth; for both of them alike planted in our Corinth and taught us; and both alike, teaching similarly in Italy, suffered martyrdom at the same time” (Letter to Pope Soter [A.D. 170], in Eusebius, History of the Church 2:25:8).
Irenaeus
“Matthew also issued among the Hebrews a written Gospel in their own language, while Peter and Paul were evangelizing in Rome and laying the foundation of the Church” (Against Heresies, 3, 1:1 [A.D.
Gaius
“It is recorded that Paul was beheaded in Rome itself, and Peter, likewise, was crucified, during the reign [of the Emperor Nero].

For, since you are subject to the bishop as to Jesus Christ, you appear to me to live not after the manner of men, but according to Jesus Christ, who died for us, in order, by believing in His death, you may escape from death. I would like to see a more in depth, honest discussion of the early Church period, holding to the Truth without unnecessarily disparaging that which is Biblical.
what exactly did he said/comment about incense?

1:26:22 I'm sorry, are you saying that repentance is not necessary for salvation???? bruh
need to specify and define repentance first
in "salvation of the soul" context:
Repentance = Correct - turn from unbelief to belief
Repent of all sins as requirement to salvation of the soul ---- this is wrong

I agree with 99% of everything in this video. I am an independent fundamental KJB only pastor. However, as is often typical with Stephen Anderson, the pastor who made this video sadly has the very same unChristlike spirit when he preaches. People do not appreciate being talked down to (this is what Catholicism has also down for years). One does not have to speak in a hateful demeaning spirit in order to get their point across. If your desire is to win Catholics to Christ and Protestants to Christ speaking with hateful speeches not going to do that.

while i agree with much of this video, it does seem strange that it links Baptists to the Anabaptists and claims we came from them, then at about 46:47 he denounces the Amish for believing in works, BUT the Amish ARE Anabaptists! the Anabaptists (Amish, Mennonites, etc) were not the spiritual ancestors of Baptists. the Anabaptists rarely baptized by immersion, tho they did baptize only adults. many Menonnites are coming much closer to being Baptists, but they are not our forefathers
Consider the timelines when you're referring to those groups
I mean for example, anabaptists of 500AD is not exactly the same as anabaptists of 2023..

Acts 2:38-39 KJV
When St.
