Thank you for the well made video, I have the Twilight 7.25 and well water with iron also. I've also used the bromine floater for years. Had to revisit this because I moved and just got the electric done and it's been 18 months since I've been able to enjoy the tub. Very well made video.
Actually the one I use in the video were from Menards and not Amazon. After looking over the chemical labels it looks the the Clorox bromine tablets are a little different from the ones I use. This other brand on Amazon is the same chemical makeup as the type I use from Menards. I’ll list the link below.
Thanks, this was helpful! Setting up my tub with bromine this time over chlorine. Quick question, do I need to setup a bromine base with sodium bromide specifically or can I use the bromine tablets to build that bank and activate it with chlorine shock? aka do I have to buy a separate bromine product or can I just use tablets (crushed or let the water build that bromine bank in a few days with tablets). Thanks!
You can get away with just establishing bromine levels with tablets. It will take a bit longer since the tablets will need to dissolve but crushing up a few would help speed that up.
my manual says to never use bromine tabs. But it seems like every video suggests that I should. I find myself adding granular bromine almost daily. Should I continue doing this? or no?
I use the tabs in the floater because it’s a lot less maintenance than checking and adding chemicals daily. Though even with the floater full of bromine tabs I may at least twice a week check the levels with a test strip and add a little chlorine shock if needed. Ideally if I had enough tabs in a floater or two even then it would keep a pretty stable level of bromine and I’d just have to adjust for ph then when needed.
Maybe not. After you fill the tub if there is no discoloration to the water you may be good to go. But if the water isn’t crystal clear and has a bit of red or orange to it then I’d recommend it to clear the color of the water.
The beginning can seem like a lot, but really now I just keep the floater full of bromine tablets and add some spa up about once a week. It’s not too bad to keep up with if you use a floater with tabs and we use our hot tub multiple times a week.
I wouldn’t say the bromine “goes bad”, but like chlorine the bromine will bond with contaminants and over time will get used up. Which is why I maintain my bromine levels with a floater and bromine tabs.
I bought a house spa was already there don’t know how to get power to the spa it is a master spa I pressed the button as told no power is it any place else the power come from
Could be the breaker. There should be a spa breaker panel somewhere near the hot tub. That needs to be on. But that small panel is powered by a breaker on the main panel in the house. So check to see if there are any breakers that are off or tripped on your main panel as well.
Best hot tub explanation video I’ve ever seen. Thank you!!!
I like the video but I wouldn't think it's a good idea to use a melamine sponge like a magic eraser on acrylic. Am I wrong about that?

Oops I meant to ask: Are the Clorox bromine tablets listed the same as those shown in the video?

Water through a house softener is bad thing?
Great video, thanks a lot.

@@Type5Reviews Thanks appreciate the quick reply!
Learned that it's complicated.

Do I need to use the Metal Gon if I'm on city water?
Maybe not. After you fill the tub if there is no discoloration to the water you may be good to go. But if the water isn’t crystal clear and has a bit of red or orange to it then I’d recommend it to clear the color of the water.
In the end, is it just way too much work?

Will the Bromine go bad if it’s old or will it still at work
Typo not AT

You should be adding the chemicals directly into the filter compartment.
Why’s that? I just got a hot tub and have wondered about that.
@jamieemery65 that was me 6 months ago, I just throw it all in the tub now lol.
Unfortunately you should never mix bromine and chlorine especially in a spa . Chlorine will cause the bromine to become ineffective
Add the ahhsome to the intake don't just dump it in the tub.
Good note, it will circulate faster that way.
If you read the back you would see not to do what he is saying
Where?
