Queen commanded audiences on a scale that was unthinkable at the time and now. In Rio they played to up to half a million people each night. I was at this concert and at their final one a few weeks later with Freddie at Knebworth in England. They were bigger than big and they owned the audience. Their music catalog was sold recently for $1.3 billion which is over twice what any person or group has ever sold for. The Beatles catalog is fragmented because of contractual issues so only ABBA could ever come close to Queen and both are legends.
When Queen does Under Pressure live, Freddie does David Bowie's part and Roger sings Freddie's part. They really deliver on this performance.Brian wrote Who Wants To Live Forever for the Queen soundtrack for the movie Highlander. It is a beautiful song.
Well - they DO exist with another frontman. John is not part of it , but Spike Edney is on Keys , synthesizer , backing vocals , there is an extra drummer - in the early days it was Rogers son Rufus influenzed by his father and his mentor the late Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters. Also an additional bass player. The frontman during the last 10 years is Adam Lambert. They are still touring the world with bigger shows than ever. Adam is not Freddie and does not try to be but he keeps the songs alive and Brian and Roger is as good as ever being 75 and 72 years old. They plan a tour to America - I think. You should find the version of “Who want to live forever with Queen and Adam the night after the shooting in Orlando , Florida - in a nightclub. Roger and Brian both said that they had never heard it like that before it was spinechilling. ❤

You REALLY need to watch “Another One Bites the Dust” and “Love of My Life”, both live in Montreal 1981. They will absolutely blow you away!!
