I thought to myself 'who is this cocky fool? I'm late game, I'll crush them'. She thrashed me in less than a minute despite all my heals and revives. I had never seen such power from an NPC, never prepared for it. Years later I asked my partner about it when they mentioned Cynthia and how they feared her. My partner's first pokemon game was Pearl. They knew Cynthia's terror from the very beginning. I learned a lot that day.

The difficulty curve is a straight line upwards from the main adventure to the league, with it being almost exactly like the regular Diamond and Pearl up until the league where suddenly every Pokemon is competitively bred and EV trained. Many of the Sinnoh Pokemon that aren't in the DP dex are still unobtainable until the post game. When it first came out it was a glitchier mess than people claim about Sword and Shield and Scarlet and Violet. I don't care that they didn't remake Platinum, as of course they weren't going to. But they could've at least added in a few more improvements like in Heart Gold and Soul Silver, as this one is basically on the level of FRLG, but with changes that make the game worse

As someone who played around release date, I didn't encounter any glitches or bugs sooo... and I had fun with BDSP so I don't really care what you guys say about it.
The DS era Pokemon games have some of my favorite tracks! I dunno if it's because of the sound limitations of the speakers or if it's just the composer for these games but I love the way they sound. Ofcourse there's the main melody but you can clearly hear all the other subtracks too. Every layer of sound gets the opportunity to come through and they are layered beautifully. 😊
