Concrete sounds great! But I would insert pipes a little larger than the legs of your feeders so you can set the legs of the feeders into that pipe. You never know how long those feeders are going to last.
I would add a sleeve for the legs of the feeders to drop into, but could still lift out when they need a good cleaning. Trudy would be able to reach them when they’re in their sleeves.
Love the concrete idea! If I were you I'd attach the feeders to the fence instead of burying them. If one were to get broken you'd have to break-up the concrete to remove it. Trudy looks like she's drinking the milk from her cereal bowl! 😂😂😂
Hey LESTER, if putting concrete down take pipes that will fit into the bottoms of feeders legs, concrete those pipes in then set feeders onto those pipes, THIS WAY YOU CAN REMOVE FEEDERS IF YOU NEED TO😊😊😊😊😊 Love to all & 2 & 4 legged babies
I think the concrete is a great idea, it will definitely help keep the food area clean and make it easier to maintain cleanliness. Love the new feeders, brilliant. Love Trudy and her attitude.
If Trudy keeps knocking them over, it doesn't leave much choice to safely feed the other Littles. I think it will help keep hoofs trim and free of muck. Doing a great job in all their care👍. Blessings 🙏🫶♥️🙏🫶
The only cons I can think of is if you want to move them somewhere else or that they get broken that you’re not gonna be able to move them. I almost Didn’t notice Indie in the loafing shed. She not only blended in with the pine shavings, but her head blended into the wood post. that was my feeling too Lester that Ernie is going to be OK. It’s just going to take a while for him to build up his red blood cells again now that the parasites are gone, continuing to pray for the little guy.
*● LESTER, JUST A THOUGHT -- if you go with the concrete plan, I would have Sam shape the inside pasture end/edge of the slab as a gutter so that when it rains, a lot of the water run-off will go into the end pasture. So the Littles' pasture doesn't get so muddy & mucky. Plus there is a lot of sunlight there and can dry out sooner.●●
Lester I think the concrete pad is a great idea but... I think you will regret concreting the feed stand in place. They are going to eventually wear out and start to rust. (I even saw on Sissy's horns red paint from rubbing on them. Find a way to put anchor rings into the concrete then you can chain them in place. ❤️
Concrete sounds great as long as its low enough for our darling Ringo to get up with his knees ❤ Dan and Trudy in one sentence made me giggle heaps 😂😂❤
I think the concrete idea is a good one. But I don’t think you should put the feeding buggy’s in the concrete. They are metal and will eventually break down from the weather and you won’t be able to replace them as easy. When you you have to clean them it will be harder without having the ability to move them. I really liked your idea from another video that you thought about getting heavy duty zip ties and tying them to the fence. It might take 4 or 5 but you can easily cut them off to replace anything that needs to be done. Or you can have posts put in the concrete just for the feed trays to be screwed or zip tied to them. It will be nice for the animals not having to stand in mud and muck while they are eating. You will be able to keep that area clean and a lot more sanitary. This is a really good idea for the animals.
I love the concrete idea. You can use the blower to help clean out the new hay feeders too. I love that you guys use every situation as a learning lesson to make changes as needed.
Hi Lester. The concrete idea is a great idea as long as you can clean the equipment somehow. I think you need a second shelter in there. Glad Ernie is doing good. Continued prayers for him.
Norma here Glad to see Ernie looking better. Pig Trudy is a riot when it comes to food. However, I got so nervous because it looked as though Starla’s leg got caught in the rack when Trudy was roughly pushing her away. She could have broken her leg. Animals are so funny. The boys not allowing the girls under the loading shed just like some kids would do.
Thanks for showing Ernie. Each babystep is one step closer to recovery. Trudy is channeling her feral hog heritage. As for the concrete, it could absorb that brutal Texas heat and raise the temperature in the pastures. I like the idea of buried pipes, like pvc, that would not rust, with fasteners to hold the feeders in place. You could put concrete in the bottom ote holes to hold the posts in place. Either slide the legs inside, or use as posts with detachable fasteners so feeders cannot be tipped but can be removed for cleaning. 🙏✝️😍✝️🙏
I'm so glad that Ernie is slowly recovering. Candice is simply adorable! I love that she has no horns, but I'm worried she'll easily be hurt by others.
Sept, 11, 2024. Pig trudy is bad ass. Lester when I have a foggy momment or my brain goes loopy, I call that a BRAIN FART. . Please stay safe in the hurriane Francine.
May I suggest getting some gravity fed hog feeders for the pigs and putting them along another fence away from where you feed the goats. That way they have access to feed as needed and just might curb Trudy from constantly searching. Also the concrete pad is a good idea but you may want to make sure there is a limestone pad around it to keep it from getting muddy in the wet season.
What a GREAT CONCRETE IDEA Lester, I LOVE ♥️ it❣️I Understand the Nature of the Beast, So I’d NEVER be MAD at Any of Your Babies, cuz I LOVE 🥰 Them So So Much❣️😁
Making a concrete "table" would be good. Be better to make it in separate pieces like a side-walk. But I like your idea of zip-tying the hay feeder's to the fence better. That would make all components moveable. Have a blessed day, Lester!
The concrete I think is a great idea, easy to clean & keep things organized. What a great video of feed time trudy is a piece of work, laughing is the best medicine i believe & i can always count on a good dose watching these guys thanks for always a laugh, giggle & smile stay safe 🙏✌️🐐🐷🐗
I really like the concrete idea! When you called that goat Shirley and then Sissy and then paused, I used that moment to pause the video trying to think of her name myself, as I'm still trying to get all of the Littles right. Thankfully Starla is one of the easier ones - most of the time. Trudy is a hangry girl! I think I've never seen her bite anyone before.
I'm ANITA: I luv Pig Trudy but when she was trying to bite the goat, that upset me. However; when she titled the Feeding Trough, I was in love with her again. I do luv that Pig Trudy. I'm so Happy to see Ernie up with Annie and Indy. I believe he's going to be alright too Lester. Y'all put so much luv and care in taking care of him. I do luv the longhorn bulls name; "Lord Grayson". That's Awesome! Luv From Tenn. God Bless Y'all and God Bless All the Animals
Hi! If you go ahead wirh concrete idea and anchor the feeders, maybe you should consider putting a slanted roof over the feeders to keep the hay and grain dryer.
We are Never worried about your and Jamie's animals Lester, they always look Happy and Healthy. But, it is so upsetting and heartbreaking to see Poor Ernie so Thin and Skinny. Only 119 pounds and Normal is 105-185 lbs, only 14 lbs from Starvation. Hard lesson to learn about making animals LEAN. How much LEANER do you think he is from the day they were ALL sheared- 30- 40 lbs or so ? Maybe, you can watch the cameras closer and more often to see how those animals just lay around, just all those birds, chickens, cats roaming everywhere. Happy to see many of them rehomed, but if the eggs aren't gathered daily, it will be back to square 1. Continued Prayers for Ernie, it makes me cry looking at his Frail Body. Something just feels Off at ISS, laying around, no Joy and Happiness is there- even All the Cheerleaders (geese) weren't Sqauking like they used to. It's so quiet, it's eery compared to in the past. Hugs and Love. Just want them to have their Best Life. We try not to say anything, but I hope You and Jamie keep a closer eye on things over there.
Lester, you mention making a 4ft area pathway of concrete, which sounds good but if you bury the legs of the feeders they will be hard to clean. Why not make 4 deep holes the feeders can sit in rather than cementing them in?
Indie we all just love what you have done to your hair. It’s shall I dare to say very different. It’s definitely a look. You are pulling off with attitude. Way to be an individual Be safe ❤😊❤
Indie is hilarious. I didn't even notice her at first in the loafing she'd. Annie LOL looks at Indie and acts like she doesn't even know her. Thank you for sharing your life
Sadie knows Daddy has something for her. She is so beautiful, it would always be easy to spoil her with the love and care she provides. Do not bury the hay feeders in the concrete. I agree with others that suggested pipes where the legs of the feeder go into, and/or posts to keep Trudy from knocking over those feeders.
When you were trying to find words to describe Pig Trudy, had me laughing. Trudy runs that pasture 😂 I instantly said oh Pig Trudy is Queen B**ch and I love it 👑💛
Lester please!! Please listen!! Please place that hay round ring on the ground!! It's very dangerous standing up!! Please listen!! If you love your babies!! Making sure for their safety thank you for listening to my worries love from Australia Fiona 👍👍💜💜
Love seeing Ernie up and eating. Love the concert idea! Goats can be butts! But, love them! Pig Trudy has a naughty side, but, I love her to pieces. Dinky is loving life. Blessings and love.
Oh, Trudy... where there's a will, there's a way! When you spoke of your brother, it reminded me of pot lucks at church. The same men would always be first in line, heaping their plates without one little thought of those in line behind them. Not that I needed it, but it was the principle of the thing.
Looove it! That will look so pretty, then maybe an overhang canopy for shade and to prevent food from getting wet plus the goats can eat without the rain hitting them. It would be beautiful
Maybe another loafing shed on the backside of that one so they have more space. That would also help when flood animals come to visit. I like the concrete idea as it would also help wear down their hooves. Anyway seems like a good idea if you avoid the trees. 😊❤ Another idea is maybe Trudy and Newton could go to live with the longhorns. Lots of grass and ponds there and they could do less damage. That kind of attack can do internal injuries, especially if those feeders have no give due to concrete. 🤷🏻♀️ If you moved her you wouldn’t have to do the concrete and you could move the feeders around as you want. Just a thought 😊❤
You ideas are great …. You’re doing everything possible to not get parasites! 🦠 Lester your a great care giver to your animals ! Don’t read the haters ….. you do a great outstanding job!❤
Here's an idea sink some metal piping into your concrete and put the legs of your hay rack into the piping that fits snugly so that Miss Trudy couldn't move it. Or raise pipe above the concrete a little bit drill a hole straight through the hay rack legs and the pipe then put a bolt through the hole and tighten it up so that Miss Trudy cannot move the hay rack. But you can unbolt it and move it around if you want.🐗❤️
Hi to hello Lester 👋. I think the concrete would be a great idea. Suggestion is to do a gradual slope to make it easier for the animals to step up on it, especially Ringo 🐐 with his arthritic knees. As far as our brute sweet Trudy 🐖and her food aggression, is it possible to feed her outside of the pasture lot, maybe on the backside of the pasture toward the grass pasture until all the other animals have eaten? I know it would be extra work but just a thought. I know she doesn't intentionally want to hurt any of the animals but she is a food aggressor, and we still love her ❤. Indie, is so stinking adorable 🥰. Every little small step with Ernie is a big milestone. One small step at a time, one day at a time. Continued prayers 🙏 for our sweet boy Ernie ❤. That's what I was thinking 🙂
Yes my thoughts exactly.
I was going to suggest the same thing with the pipes. It would make for easy removal if ever need be.
Yes or the little leg holders that you use to bolt things to concrete
Love that idea!
I would add a sleeve for the legs of the feeders to drop into, but could still lift out when they need a good cleaning. Trudy would be able to reach them when they’re in their sleeves.

Yes .I agree .There would be many ways to attach the feeders to the fence . Attaching them at the top would help keep them from falling over .
I mentioned about a pvc pipe sleeve to put the legs of the feeder into it.
@@judithgillis267YES THATS THE BEST IDEA
@Fred_Bender true but truly would take fence down with her😂😂
Hey LESTER, if putting concrete down take pipes that will fit into the bottoms of feeders legs, concrete those pipes in then set feeders onto those pipes, THIS WAY YOU CAN REMOVE FEEDERS IF YOU NEED TO😊😊😊😊😊 Love to all & 2 & 4 legged babies
Put metal post on each side of the feeders in the middle so Trudy can’t tip them over, then you can pull the feeder out if you need to.
This is a fantastic idea!
Great idea
Jason at Cog Hill Farm did that with his cow feeder and it worked.
They won't because what happened to Voo.

I think Annie misses th the littles. She was their protector

The anchors can be set in a lower spot so that the pigs can reach them. Great idea to anchor them rather than setting them into the concrete.
