The video in black&white plus the reaction and the looks of people....unique like his "gift"👍🏻 From the bottom of my heart❤....THANK YOU! I feel blessed 😊🕊 Greetings from Bonn/Germany
Trying hard to pick out the voices in the fugue. That's left brain stuff. Enjoying the performance. Right brain stuff. Bottom line? What a joy. Thanks Xaver.
This is such a beautiful piece of film. The performance is wonderful, terrific registration choices and an effortless sense of the mood of the thing, keeping it dancing, letting it sing. The synagogue looks astonishing. But it's the faces in the audience I keep coming back to, particularly at the end, the pride, the love on their faces for this extraordinary young man. Just beautiful.
What a privilige to listen to that work in that synagogue that day! Fortunately we are able to see and hear the moment. 🌺🌺🌺👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿what an interpretation. thank you
I'm fascinated by the building! I wish we could have seen the other side of it. Three levels of balconies, all stuffed full of people here to hear great music played with precision and love. There must have been about 2,000 people there.
@@NigelDuke Legato and Rubato are the most important features in the proper Baroque music reading. Besides, even if I'm not a supporter of organists who never change stops along Bach's fugues, I find that in this specific fugue there's no hint about a change of manuals or registration. I heard several performances by this organist, and I really think he's more an actor than a true musician. If you know about M.C.Alain's performances, and philology in general, you can understand what I mean.
@@mr_beats765 Yeah, you're right. I can answer only one part of your question: who is me? A man who spended last 35 years perfecting organ phrasing and studying in depth the aim fow which composers wrote each single note of each bar of each piece... And just for his own passion. Please don't think that Bach's music is the one played by that man... Trust me, it is much more beautiful than that! After all he's famous because of advertising. I heard hundreds of other organists who are not well renowned, and can play a lot better. But as you said... Who are them..? In any case, no problem: Bach never indicated the phrasing he had in mind, so anything goes, as far as you're not an expert.
@@dariogiorgiutti9418 What have you achieved in your life by knowing Bach's pieces in details? Man, you can anything, money and numbers means results in this field ;) You won't achieve anything by being underground.
Xaver Varnus is amazing. He has his own style.
I truly believe strongly that he is one of the finest Organists living today!
He IS the best organist living today. He's without equal when playing Bach.
Agreed. THE finest.
Bach's music is a dance before God.
Bach`s music in this wonderful old Synagoge: great, great, great. Thank you Mr. Varnus!
a trick : you can watch movies at Flixzone. I've been using it for watching all kinds of movies during the lockdown.
@Beau Jamie Yea, been watching on Flixzone for since november myself =)
If that doesn’t make you cry nothing will

From a time when we were allowed to come together in such a high concentration of people. Beautifully played. Thank you.
Contenta di vivere per Poter ascoltare, ancora grazie

it was missing the most important part though. the audience coughing and sneezing

Great to see so many people of all ages enjoying this performance 😍

Fantástico, Sublime...

Excuse me, there was a shot from the entrance end, of the left balconies. My bad.
so great and brilliant, thank you Xaver.
That's not brilliant, that's all wrong!!!
Stunning
Bravo!!!
WOW BRILLIANT! Thank you!
Drága Xaver, a te zenéd mindig megnyugtat, akármi is történjen..:)
If via TH-cam it's already so beautiful and rich, I can imagine inside the synagogue with all the generated harmonics. Thanks for sharing this gem!
WOW ! BRAVO !

Such a difficult piece, and he knocks it out the court!

One of the best.. Super
I noticed the muscle an organist has in their hands in comparison to those of a violinist.
Bravo!!! Great interpretation...
Geweldig stuk.
Briljant gespeeld.
Geweldig de mensen te zien
Sublieme video
Very nice interpretation, thank you!
I regret only that I have but one like to give.

Hello! It s a digital organ!!!
davidjack1975 Read the description. It’s a digital organ console connected to the real organ.
🤗🌄
The best🤗
👍👏🌹🙂🙏

Every ones imagination running wild !
Keith Adamo I agree!
Why he starts running half way through?
Title says "Fugue", not "Prelude and Fugue" :)
Eskü mint mucsi zoltán úgy néz ki
A little too fast for our taste, but otherwise a very difficult fugue that is well-played.
Первая Ваша интерпретация,которая не понравилась. Тема ,на мой взгляд,звучит легкомысленно,в стиле не Баха,а польки-бабочки.Простите
Es un concierto o una convención de judíos?
Wrong phrasing (what's that histeric staccato?), wrong stops, zero rubato.... As usual, a poor and silly reading.
Silly comment
