A & E = EXCELLENCE - No IFFS No BUTS. Every video I watch, from creating footings to laying the last roof tile. Well done, the construction co. who care. Thank you. Sheffield UK
Another excellent, patient teacher at A&E. Said this is the last video too but the trades are desperately missing guys like this to bring in the next generation. Everyone is too pressed for time and money now.
Where you've braced across the bottom to hold the legs apart, when fitting the lining put a piece of 1x4 (the same internal measurement as the head) flat on the floor in between and pull the legs to it, that way you keep them nice and square and not twisted. Especially if you need to put a threshold through the bottom.
Nice one Pete, start them off on a good foot! Some of the standards from new tradesmen has been shocking over the last few years, especially on new builds. Who the hell is training them? Nice work young man, keep up the standards.
It's great to see someone taking the time to teach an apprentice properly, too many apprentices are used as cheap labour by construction companies. It's really hard to explain how to do, and why it's done that way for each individual task to another person, Good effort. The one thing I would add is to sight your 2nd jamb in to the first to check for plumb, rather than using the level on both sides.
Got to love a bucket of wedges. I always cut all the off cuts on the table saw at the end of first fix. Everyone looks at me like I’m mental but they soon come and ask for some
Don't mind plumbing it follow the stud if the stud is off you won't be able to plaster to it as the tolerance is to tight... keep your margins... then don't plumb the receiver side just sight one style through at a diagnal to the opposite side of the other jam.. so they are parallel...... you can do it your way if everything is spot on which I know yous do... but plumbing a frame on an out of plumb stud doesn't work especially if you only leave 3mm for skim either side.. so you should show him how to overcome that obstacle .. but top work as always lads
Nice tool belt. Are you only wearing it while at the bench because it wont fit through the doorway ? You wont be saving the painters any time walking round in that
That's how it should be done looking after the next trade to make everyone's job easy. Spot on Pete.
Would love to have a senior teacher like that. Amazing keep it up

When you put the studwork up, you should allow enough space for your folding wedges to overlap not pinch each side of the lining.

Good instructions and really good to hear the word wedges and not shims. 👍
Love it. Great quality as ever.
Best video on this! Thanks gents
Great content and a proper tradesman at work
Never plumb both sides of the frame...Plumb the hinge side the sight the frame through the lock side.
You got custard on your fingers Tony? Lol. Great vlog and masterclass in door framing. Stay well you all.
Got to love a bucket of wedges. I always cut all the off cuts on the table saw at the end of first fix. Everyone looks at me like I’m mental but they soon come and ask for some

Don’t forget to sight it through at the end for twist
Great job Pete 👏👏👏
How do you get to level 3 without fitting door linings?
Pete hanging door frames in his crop top 🤣😂🤣
Have you remove the wedges away at the end? I thougt it must be just trimmed flat to edge.
Trim the door wedges with a multi tool or hand saw.
Are these made to a generic door size? or do they already have the doors?
Nice tool belt. Are you only wearing it while at the bench because it wont fit through the doorway ?
You wont be saving the painters any time walking round in that
Im an Apprentice and I wish someone would teach me like this. I get shown nothing, i get told this is how you do it but never ever shown.
👏👏👏👏
Get yourself a dummy door easier
We do this all the time
Really wish I'd learnt a trade instead of doing IT
I don't know where you work but it's not an England 😂😂😂
