VR6 is a cross between an inline 6 and a V6. it stands for Versecht Reichenmotor 6 or inline V6 i have an R32 believe me im well aware of what a VR6 is.
Saying people are idiots when you are only quoting bhp figures makes you look stupid I'm afraid, far more than just bhp to consider. Standard the z4 is marginly quicker, so they are right.
Love sleepers golfs , this one is perfect . Didn't even ask for a race , doesn't show off , just a normal golf with a v6 3.2 twin turbo 550 bhp in a 1.5 ton car amazing !!
LoL, What I love is the stock look of the R32. You'd be hard pressed to know the difference between it and a regular golf. The VW looked stock but when he put his right foot down he walked away from you like you were standing still...

@danieljohnson210 It's MPH the BMW is obviously UK spec being RHD, English driver. We use MPH in the UK. So his speedo will have MPH as the main numbers along the dial.

That naturally aspirated 3.0 is not a joke engine. If you hit the turbo car at lows, you will make more hp at the beginning while he uses it's power to spin the turbos.

Z4 has either the 3.0i has a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine capable of 215 horsepower and 185 pound-feet of torque or the 3.0si has a high-output version that's good for 255 hp and 220 lb-ft of torque. MK4 Golf R32 has 237bhp and 236lb-ft of torque. If being really 515hps that Mk4 should had almost instantly dissaper from the view of the Z4... maybe he was just playing with the Z4

@dalonghur the VAG group share the same platforms and drivetrains under many different companies... the VR6 motor here can be found in the Audi and Porsche as well... the 4.2L in my Phaeton is shared with Audi and Bentley, my Phaeton is partially built at the Bentley factory in Dresden I believe... the R8 V10 is the same engine as in the Lamborghini Gallardo... just check the engine bay for all the VW parts.... all these platforms shared common parts. VW does more than just own the others...

@cumbas But honestly..when you pull up next to someone like this and ask for a race and they burn your bacon that bad..that's the joy in building a car like that gulf.. it doesn't look too radically modified... street racers and others call it a sleeper. Spontaneous street racing is not about keeping things stock... its about being faster then the other guy without attracting too much police attention to your vehicle. The car being totally unique and one off is all the better to a street racer
German cars are just the best in the world! And I love the Golf MK4 R32 because it's a fucking nice car with a great sound so much power! The other great thing is the most people don't now that this nice car have so much power and underrate a R32!

@preske Can I just correct you too :) I'm assuming UK spec is the same as the rest of Europe? In which case the 3.0 BEFORE April 2006 had 231 bhp. After 2006 the 3.0 litre was only available in Si spec with 261 bhp (stronger, lighter engine means the revs can go higher) And this isn't a Z4M, the bonnet is smooth- the M has two ridges down the centre.
@1337junc What are you talking about? Perhaps I didn't interpret your meaning correctly or you worded it funny, but VW has never made twin turbo golfs. This car IS modified... heavily. FYI, a stock MK4 R32 is actually a bit slower than a stock MK4 VR6, regardless of the 30 extra horsepower it's pushing.

Cheaper to mod lower cost at mainting and more after market performance at a slightly lower cost VW is just a cheaper version of Audi and Porsche hell VW owns Lamborghini so plenty of potential in souping up VWs. Most people assume VW= oh the common blue collar car some may be right but they are dominating in luxury and performance now. Best European car company imo. BMW maybe second Mercedes a close third kinda hard to say though Mercedes seem to be more reliable though but Mercedes is primarily Luxury.

The HGP/HPA upgrade can make it exceed 200mph the speedometer only goes to 180 lol. 0-60 3 seconds. Its as fast as a ferrari.
