Seeing Freddy Star and Des O'Connor again like this just reminds me how good we had it in the old days, TV made for the majority to enjoy with great stars and so much fun, laughing until our sides hurt. Thanks for this memory.
I had the, erm, pleasure of meeting Freddie star as a vehicle mechanic a few years ago. The guy is not only arrogant, he is an utter a-hole. He threatened members of staff because he said he was a martial artist, his car was covered in dents (due to drink and drugs according to the reports) and generally he was a complete a-hole.
Freddie great comedian and singer. Sparkling eyes and great smile. So enjoyed the laughter Freddie brought to many. My Mum and Dad. Me and my children. Latter not easy to achieve laughter three generations worth. One and only Freddie. Never see the likes again.
Des and Freddie, fantastic combination! If you feel down at all and need a lift, watch these two together….absolutely fantastic!!! Both Des and Freddie will be missed and comedy has lost a great talent in Freddie Starr!!
Des and Fred two brilliant entertainers went together like fish and chips may they both rise in Glory in Heaven like they both did here on Earth. Many Thanks Hazel Bassett for sharing these amazing moments x
Thanks for Sharing. Been waiting for that Elaine Paige moment and and film skit for years. They were close friends, Des always charming and so supportive of Freddie, a wonderful physical comedian. TV gold from two talented men.
@@Glenfunnyman thanks brother, this woke 💩has destroyed comedy, TV and society in general, the eastern world must be laughing at us the western society at the way we're heading, all this wind power and solar is destroying us as well,we have got infanstructre yet for it ,let's hope these idiotic politicians realize and we go old school again,🏴✌️💯
he was talented outragous....and was a great singer.....but suffered from stage fright.....probably why he drank...... but he played on his own unpredictability....due to alcohol ...and the audience expected it.....he did not disappoint..... the shock element of his act...was what sold it......underneath it all ..he was quite a genuine bloke...... great comic and entertainer
Apart from making me cry with laughter, i forgot what a great singer Freddy was. Him and Des worked well and unfortunately we dont see acts like that anymore. The only comedian who has run amok on a chat show is probably Peter Kay. Freddy may have had his demons and issues but he knew how to get the response from his audience. Loved the Elaine Paige with her dog attacking Freddy's stuffed dog. Comedy gold.
I know fans wont want to hear this but I met him at a stately home location in Derbyshire when he was doing a series of Ye Olde Time skits for his show and he was an absolute arsehole. Paul McShane was appearing with him and was an absolute gentleman who said when I asked him whats he like to work with and he said, "nightmare" he also added that "what you see on T.V. and here today is down to cocaine" as as I was working security near the dressing caravans I saw quite a bit of evidence of that.
I met him once at Jethro's club in Cornwall. An absolute diamond and an inspiration to a young comic starting out. I guess it's the night you catch them.
Not sure if anyone can help. Many years ago I watched a video tape of Freddie Starr live. He had an older guy, very short. I think he was American. Anyway, it was very rude and so funny. Does anyone know the name of the older guy?

Why is tv not like this anymore? Great television, great stars, loved des💗 Freddie was a funny man,

Freddie was such a funny guy, but I doubt he would even get on the TV today in this PC world. One of the all-time greats
Èwèèđffd
Thank goodness we got to see him , would rather the pre pc days than the namby pambies of today who get offended at the least little thing
@@irenabevans3411 they are not offended. They are just offended for the sake of it. It's to prove a ridiculous point. In other words .TWATS.

The drugs and alcohol brought the worst out in Freddie, especially the cocaine.
He was amazing guaranteed a good laugh, but not today people's skin has got much thinner.
Their brains have.
This person was hilarious

When you've accidently stepped on a few frogs in Belize...
This would be banned today, too many snowflakes and not PC.
What year was this?
Soooo funny❤
Freddie dressed as Hitler ,dusting out the goal posts at Wembley on cup final day
Poor Freddie.
Hilarious.
😂
W.T.F XD
Could there be any less talent in one room ?
If you count yourself, yes...
@@margaretflounders8510 Oooohhhh get you Maggie 💋
Yes because there is a talentless, humourless idiot watching.
Comedy gold, sadly the " comedians" of today don't even qualify for a bronze
