  • Let's make sure we all remember and honour Avicii. The best way to do that is to keep his legacy alive. Listen to his music, watch his videos, watch the documentary and tell your friends, tell your parents, tell your kids about this amazing guy Tim, aka Avicii that had such an amazing influence and was such a lovely sweet hardworking kid but also tell everyone about his mistakes so we can all do better…

You probably know I said this before but still I’ll say it again Luke:
The way you tutor, show, educate, AND use your position in the dancemusic industry is very VERY respectable.
Oh 1 thing: Don’t be afraid to show emotion (eg tears), for they too, are part of life...
    Bless, S. #manhug

Thank you for being such a driving force in dance music and just an awesome human being in general. R.I.P. Avicii

I talked with him for some years..
I was 14 and started producing tracks, and he encouraged me because of my age. It's so crazy to imagine one second he's away now..
He used to give me tips, feedback, solutions, and kept saying work will pay one day.
I will never stop thanking him for what he's done for me, and I can say one thing: he was such a good person. We miss you Tim...

I was so shocked when I first heard of this message! :/ Avicii was and still is one of my biggest inspirations 🎶I literally watched his studio session with "Future Music Magazine" more than 10 times just to learn new things, learn about his workflow and see what he is doing in Fl Studio. I loved his music specially his melodies and how he changed the music industry. Sadly one of my biggest dreams: To meet Tim in person and to speak to him will never be fulfilled. I'm still thankful for everything he did and hope that his music will never stop inspiring people!! 🎶 May Tim "Avicii" rest in peace 🎶🎶 Hope you guys think the same about this! #RipAvicii 🙏

What do I feel makes Dj'ing worth it. After 22 years of playing, even though it may be cliche, it's seeing people smiling dancing and having a great time while I play for them. What makes it even better is when I am make other Dj's dance. And after all that, is going home with my amazing wife Orkid, who is also a DJ, and dancing and dj'ing with her.
Happiness through the music we play by those who make it creates a wonderful thing! Love!
Respect to you Luke for all you do.

Hey Luke, but sometimes its not about the artist, the people surround the artist also sometimes make it hard and push the artist so much. i think its also good have some people that really understand what you need not thinking about theirself. I also speak with Andy from Mightyfools regarding mental health issue i told him he need to relax and have some vacation in bali or indonesia (for people who dont know he's indonesian who grew up in netherlands.) im bit sad with the news that they break up but i know deep down andy already try his best all this time to fight it but he couldnt do it anymore. as a friend and fan i only can wish all the best for him and jelle :')

There is no otheer like Lucas Van Schippingen, and ceertainly, there will be no one like Timmy Timmy Timmy Berling (listening to Desiigner´s Timmy Turner).
Luke, you are the best DJ in the world, it doesnt matter what magazines and popularity polls say. #1 DJ in the world means more than having 10 hits going #1 on Beatport or Spinning Recs or being the best paid DJ 6 times in a row, or selling completely to the Elite. TO be #1 DJ in the world is just what you and only you do: To become a talent scout, musician, producer, blogger and Vlogger, CEO at your own record label, host of your own radio show, mixmaster, entretainer, preserver of the DJ culture and caring about the comunnity, being a mentor for future generations, being honest about every aspect of the DJ carrer and what is most important: SHARING IT. You were close to Avicii and also experienced how is to be living on the edge, yourself back in the day. My only question still is : If everyone claimed to be as close as Avicii as you really were, why the hell nobody played his new songs this year? Just a few played Without You, but the EP was 6 songs and at time of death, at least other 2 songs were certifed singles..Lonely Together and the best song of the record: YOU BE LOVE. Why nobody played this songs on their sets, as for what I read, all reviews on his 01-AVICI EP that I recall, said it was excellent. My other question is: why do you never talk about trance when you refer to generes?

4:58 This is the truth. It is always so weird to me how DJ'ing and producing are totally different but producers are always kinda forced into the DJ life. I started with DJing and have been doing it since the days of vinyl and just this year started trying to produce music and am terrible. It is a completely different skillset. My point is, nobody ever pressures DJ's into being producers, just being a DJ is fine, but it seems like all the good producers are almost forced to also be a DJ. I am suprised more EDM producers don't just tour with a DJ and kind of take on a more production style role in the shows and preparing material for the DJ to play and even put his own spin on it. I think a producer/DJ duo is pretty dope. Kinda like DJ/MC but for dance music.

Great to see Tims post on your old forum. He just wanted to be a producer. A 'nerd' in a studio with FL or Ableton and invent new sounds and songs. Question: Is life easier for DJ's becoming producers than producers having to behave like DJ's???

Despite saying stop his manager kept pushing him and as a man who wanted to please and do his best he could not say stop until too late. That's the sadness of this extravert driven world where introvert are always asked to be against their true nature. He was a producer, too sad he was pushed too hard to being a DJ as EDM would call it. He is the collateral damage of EDM craziness. RIP Tim. RIP EDM... I understand you can become a producer after being a DJ, but I never understood how a studio guy can become a DJ.....

Avicii wasn't a DJ to begin with. He was a music producer. But Ash, his former manager, forced him to learn how to DJ because he saw the upcoming boom of EDM and knew DJs would be the new rockstars.

Anxiety sucks, I know from experience.
My friend once said, people are unhappy despite fortunes and fame because they don't believe in nothing.
Big loss, but Tim is a legend and his legacy will live.

Should I buy a piano and learn how to play it & get in to producing music ? I love music and melodies, and Avicii of course.

Thank you Lucas. An amazing vlog. The masses think fame and fortune is everything but you have explained brilliantly that it isn't. Having a purpose is everything. When you continue to do something which doesn't fall in line with your purpose. The results can be catastrophic. RIP Avicii

I have a question! If Avicii's anxiety was a common secret doesnt anyone any colleague help him trough this? I think the most of Djs have or had the same issues some of you dealing with them some at least trying!
