I really like Klay as a player and am very grateful for what he's done for the Dubs. But he's not being level headed about what his real value is contract wise. So it makes 0 since for the Dubs to overpay for a bench player at this point. N...let him walk and use the money else were.

Kerr benched klay and Steph couldnt do anything offensively consistently because there was no other spacing threat on the floor. Klays prowess and presence is still huge. the problem is the coaching and the front office for not adding the pieces the core needs. I don’t care what they do. They should have traded him away the year Poole (end of the season) got punched in the face. They should have traded Green that year too who destroyed the continuity on the team, when both their value was higher. Go ahead and sign him. You won’t get anything if he walks. Klay isn't producing alot on defense and he's extremely inconsistent on offense. Why pay for someone like that when you can get someone younger, more athletic, better rebounder, better defender, and can knock down open threes in Jonathon Isaac
You stuck in the past. It was a reason Klay got benched. Because like you mentioned, there was no other spacer for most games. Klay was suppose to be that other spacer but he just doesn't produce like the Klay of old anymore.

Come on.....Klay NEVER "held down" the likes of Lebron James, Kawii Leonard or whoever else's name you mentioned. He may have defended well against the "mere mortal" players in the league, but not against the bigger and stronger "star" players.

CP3 has to go and let Podz develope faster and become the future PG for the Warriors. Wiggs also has to go and focus on JK as a future SF for the Warriors. Moody too has to go. Warriors could use them to add that missing piece. Like adding that legit 2nd scoring option and that true defensive center
Wiggins has no trade value, according to GMs around the league. Plus, his long-term contract, which nobody wants. If you can't trade him, make him back up Kuminga at small forward.

Resign and trade Klay and get some good solid player who can contribute now
Klay needs to stay but draymond needs to go. Draymond gone will attract a good stretch forward and maybe a decent center that will give them some rim protection. This will give Klay better spacing which will give him better scoring opportunities. Draymond brings too much drama to attract any free agents worth wild. I keep hearing people say that we can’t win without Draymond but we haven’t been able to win with him the last 2 years. We don’t need any more guards. We don’t need Paul George; he can’t stay on the court and I have never seen him impact winning in the post season. Lebron is a big NO because he wants to control everything and he doesn’t contribute to winning either. All he does is leave teams when it gets tough and he can’t win. The only exception is the Lakers and that’s because not many teams wanted to take on his salary and he can’t solicit anyone to team up with him anymore. Plus I think Lacob should not even consider signing Bronny. Chris Paul needs to go as well. Not that he didn’t help a bit but we need that 30mil. I also think that Wiggins will play a lot better with Draymond gone. Draymond did help win those championships but he is also one of the big reasons KD left, he destroyed Poole, who fit perfectly, and he cost us so many games because of his childish behavior and attitude. Besides, Wiggins and Looney were tight with Poole and I think the chemistry has been off since the punch.

If they offer Klay a contract in line with Draymond's contract, I think he'll stay. Otherwise, he'll feel disrespected and go to some team who will pay him more what he feels that he's worth.
He does not deserve Draymond's contract. Draymond doesn't even deserve Draymond's contract right now.
This is the main problem with this team, it is running purely based on sentiments and emotion and this wasn't what made the team great in the first place.
Klay is done as a starter. Draymond is washed. We need players that can help us compete right now and here we are talking about guys who already had their time in the sun.

You can’t listen to anything Kerr or Dunleavy say. They both said last year: “We didn’t make any changes at the trade deadline because we believe we have enough to compete”. (We didn’t make the playoffs) They’re either “liars”, or “dumb”.
GSW paid 190 MM to Klay Thompson for 5 years, but he did not play for almost 3 years. Moreover, his game has worsen, not only his shooting but his ability to defend and rebound. He can be extended, but only at the right price. In my opinion, GSW would offer something under 20 MM per year.
Why can't Klay take paycut like Dirk?
