എന്റെ ജീവിതത്തിൽ നടന്ന മറക്കാൻ പറ്റാത്ത ഒരനുഭവം ഇവിടെ പങ്കു വെക്കണമെന്ന് തോന്നി സംഭവം നടക്കുന്നത് ഏകദേശം 18 വർഷം മുമമ്പാണ്. കൃഷ്ണഗുഡിയിലെ ആ മറക്കാനാവാത്ത രാത്രി. അന്ന് രാത്രി ഭക്ഷണമൊക്കെ കഴിച്ചു കഴിഞ്ഞു വെറുതെ ഒന്ന് റയിൽവേ ട്രാക്കിലൂടെ നടക്കാനിറങ്ങിയതായിരുന്നു ഞാൻ പെട്ടെന്നാണ് 5 ആനകൾ ട്രാക്കിൽ നിൽക്കുന്നത് ഏന്റെ ശ്രദ്ധയിൽ പെട്ടത് അപ്രതീക്ഷിതമായ ആ കാഴ്ചയിൽ ഞാൻ ഒന്ന് ഞെട്ടിയെങ്കിലും ഉടനെ എന്തെങ്കിലും ചെയ്യണമെന്ന എന്റെ പൗരബോധം എന്നിലുദിച്ചു, കാരണം കുറച്ചു കഴിഞ്ഞാൽ അതു വഴി ട്രെയിൻ വരാനുള്ളതാണ്. ആനയുടെയും ട്രെയിൻ യാത്രക്കാരുടെയും കാര്യം ഓർത്തപ്പോൾ അതെന്നെ വല്ലാതെ വേവലാതിപ്പെടുത്തി. പിന്നെ ഒന്നും ആലോചിച്ചില്ല ഉടുത്തിരുന്ന ചുവന്ന ടീഷർട്ട് ഊരി കയ്യിലുണ്ടായിരുന്ന ടോർച്ചിൽ പൊതിഞ്ഞു എന്നിട്ട് അതൊരു റെഡ് സിഗ്നൽ പോലെ തോന്നിക്കുന്ന രൂപത്തിലാക്കി ട്രെയിൻ വരുന്ന ഭാഗത്തേക്ക് ഓടി ട്രെയിനിനെ എങ്ങനെയോ നിറുത്തിച്ചു തുടർന്ന് ഞാൻ ഒറ്റയ്ക്ക് 5 ആനകളെയും പാളത്തിൽ നിന്ന് തള്ളി മാറ്റി.... തള്ളി മാറ്റാൻ കുറച്ചു പാടു പെട്ടെങ്കിക്കും അതുവഴി വലിയൊരു ദുരന്തവും ഒഴിവായിക്കിട്ടി....
