Oh wow, I have never seen such a longer paragraph in this, yesterday as I was roleplaying, I was using paragraphs almost to MAXIUM limit of the chat bar box thing haha.
Recently, it was my first playing alone and actually having a mentor. I was med apprentice and there were two med cats. At first, they seemed really open to me being there and offered to both be my mentors, I was fine with it, but as soon as the leader was out of sight, they became extremely indifferent towards me, saying stuff like “of course WE had to deal with an apprentice! This sucks” or basically just talking bad about me or how they didn’t want me. Eventually they left after passing up their responsibilities of me to each other (like saying “I’m going on a walk, you look after the app” and the other responding with “NOO! I don’t wanna deal with a stupid app!!” And vice versa). I got a new mentor who was really kind though, she actually taught me stuff and it was really fun, she truly role played with me, she would teach me how to fight and hunt and tell me I was doing a good job instead of just ignoring me. Hope the original mentors see this vid. Anyways, amazing vid :)
When I roleplay as a med cat, I do a meeting because I WANT a mentor. I feel like the bond between the med app & med cat is one of the strongest in WCUE. I always take them on walks, to observe where to find herbs, etc. Because in my opinion, if you treat a med app PROPERLY, it'll surely pay off.
wow you got to rp with a really good rp player as your mentor. Seems so cool! I may not be an exp rp player, I played long enough to say that I've never ever experienced a good mentor/app relationship. They would all usually rp alone, forget me or even leaving right after my ceremony. However I do hope I'll still be a good rp player someday, especially for being an exp mentor :)
This reminds me of me of a roleplay I did as a mentor! Basically, the clan had a lack of warriors and players in general so I was handed three apprentices as my character was the type to accept many jobs (Names were Snakepaw, Birdpaw and Waterpaw). I got along with my apprentices and went out for training with them, eventually one of them had to leave (Birdpaw) so instead of just leaving they made it plot point they ran off with one of the other appreciates I had (Snakepaw) and got bitten by a snake. This gave Snakepaw survivors guilt about this situation and me and Waterpaw did our best to cheer them up. As the clan got larger, Waterpaw and a few other members decided to make an event with a poisoned rabbit which killed Waterpaw, however they stayed as a starclan cat. Snakepaw and I finished out training and Snakepaw was named Snakerunner and we stayed friendly during more of the roleplay. Eventually, someone wanted a plot point to be framed of murder and I was willing to take that role as the murdered. I was killed by a fox but my last words were the name of the framed cat as they saved me before dying. This caused Snakerunner to accuse them the most out of anger and guilt over all the deaths that occurred around them. Waterpaw (who was still in game) went to medicine cat and got them they received a vision on my ‘murder’ which had them say that the framed cat was innocent, which angered Snakerunner at the idea. Eventually, I came as a starclan cat and told them it was time to let go and how the framed cat tried to save my life. I have no more things to say as I left at the end but I’m still really proud at how every member of the roleplay made natural arcs to their characters and it made it really fun.
Tysm for the helpful tips!! In WCUE I often find myself becoming a mentor, and usually I struggle with it even though I want to be a mentor, and I want to make sure the apprentice roleplayer has a good time and feels fulfilled in their RP, when so many warriors never want to be mentors.
Hey I noticed you got some things a bit off in your video so I’d like to clear some stuff up! Some apprentices actually enjoy helping the elders as the elders like to tell great stories to them or the apprentice may have a strong bond with one. So yes, some apprentices in their “right mind” do not care at all about having to clear the elders of ticks. Also you said “reading the elders of their live” which I found pretty funny but I think you meant “ridding the elders of their lice” 😂 either way, great video!
Haha! Yes, some apprentices can enjoy being around the elders, I’m just generalising everything in the video, and based off what I’ve read in the series lol. Apprentices can be very different to one another, and that was what I was trying to say in the personalities part ^^ Also, the thing about the elder’s ticks- I thought I checked through my auto-captions properly, but I guess that one slipped 😅 Anyway, Thankyou! thank you for the tips! i play WCUE for 3 years without reading , im. completely fine and know most of things as a relation to warrior cats [ except the herbs. ] and i never could have dealed with an apprentice and i never had a mentor myself so i could copy some of moves and things to learn an apprentice with my adding. it was also a problem and the main how i explain [im well to explain but not in mentoring. ] which always confused me how do i say and teach about things.

This really helped me yesterday, with an apprentice I got (Goldenpaw). We both had a lot of fun, but she died of green cough before I could take her hunting for the first time.
I think a good way to always start is ask your apprentice's player out of rp what they do and dont know, it can be very hard to teach if they already know everything or know nothing, so good old communication helps Also...don't be a leader or deputy with an apprentice, I know it's book accurate and all, but as someone who's been both deputy and leader with an apprentince...with MULTIPLE apprentinces, you simply wont have the time and will be way to stressed trying to make sure your apprentice grows up well while also taking on literally every clan duty, try to avoid havingultiple apprentices too, maybe having an extra for a little bit, but try to find another mentor as soon as possible
Is it possible for you to pls teach how to do Patrols (such as Border Patrols and more that is exactly like that) I've been trying to find out for days and it'd be really helpful if you do!

This is kinda funny so i never trained an app and never did these steps but one time when i was training an app at the sandy hollow i helping then and taught them good fighting moves when a app,warrior,leader,deputy or a big warrior was fighting them and one time there was a battle and they remembered the moves i showed them so that was fun

Here's some tips! - 1. Ask warriors/apprentices to go out and get herbs! Asking your own apprentice/someone else's apprentice can be considered training. Plus, I don't think warriors mind. 2. Check your herb supply. Restock if you need to. Since you're a med cat, you can travel to any part of the forest's territory freely, but still be wary whilst on another Clan's territory. 3. Kill ticks off elders. This can be done using mousebile. 4. KNOW.YOUR.HERBS. This might be an obvious thing but it is super important you know what herbs are and their uses. Of course, not every herb is in WCUE, but not every herb in there can heal every illness. Know what to do Incase herbs in game don't work! ALSO KNOW THEIR LOCATION. 5. If you want an apprentice, make sure to get to know the kit beforehand! A kit willing to walk down the path of a Medicine Cat will show clear interest. If you decide to take on an apprentice, make sure to notify the leader so that way they can become a medicine Cat apprentice come the next meeting. 6. Don't forget your connection to StarClan. Unless you're like Mothwing StarClan is your god. Also don't forget the daily meeting between Medicine Cats at Moonstone. 7. Quiz your apprentice on herbs. This is how they will memorize and learn herbs. Also take them out with you when gathering herbs so they also know the location of herbs. 8. This is something I think some will forget - Medicine Cats know basic fighting moves. They can fight if necessary so don't feel bad if your med cat knows how to fight. 9. The most important thing is to have fun! Being a Medicine Cat is one of my favorite roles to roleplay as. Here's some info on herbs (taken by wiki) - Alderbark - Dark gray/greenish fissured bark. Found in swampy areas, along rivers, and sometimes in Leafbare. This herb is chewed. Used to ease toothaches. Coltsfoot - Flowering yellow/white plant resembling dandelions. They grow most in greenleaf. Grows by the waterfall in RiverClan's (forest) territory and in ShadowClan's (lake) territory. Chewed into a pulp. Used to ease breathing, kitten - cough, and cracked/sore pads. Blackberry/Blackberry Leaves - Pinkish white flowers, each having five petals and produces fruit once a year. Grows in sunny areas and carries a sharp scent. These plants are found almost everywhere, and chewed into a pulp when using. This herb eases the pain of bee stings. Burnet - Medium - green colored basal leaves. May have purple spikes. Burnet is found in ThunderClan territory in sunny areas. These leaves are traveling herbs and are swallowed, mainly used for strength. Good for expecting queens. Celandine - Yellow flower with four petals. Celandine poppies have bigger petals. This flower grows both in RiverClan and ThunderClan territory, but supposedly grows better in ThunderClan. Celandine is crushed into juice and trickled into the eye to soothe weakened/damaged eyes. Comfrey - Large leaves, small bell shaped flowers which are purple, pink, white, or fat brown roots. Tangy smell. This herb appears in damp, grassy places. Comfrey can be either chewed into a poultice or lined in one's best. Comfrey is used to repair broken bones, sooth wounds, wrenched claws, itching, and inflammation on stuff joints. Can also be used to ease stiffness on shoulders, and also on burns. Feverfew - Small bush of flowers resembling daisies. Has a sharp tangy smell and small, soft leaves. They grow best along water. Feverfew is eaten and reduces body temperature for cats with fever/chills. Feverfew also heals aches and pains, and is very good with headaches. Goldenrod - A tall plant with bright, yellow flowers. Goldenrod grows well on WindClan's moors, and is chewed into a poultice. Goldenrod is good for healing wounds. Stinging nettle - Green, spiny seeds that are found all over the forest. The seeds are eaten, and used for cats who was swallowed poison. Also can be mixed with Comfrey to help heal broken bones. Also helps heal wounds, and chewing the stems helps fight infection. Tansy - Round yellow flowers with a very strong sweet scent, making it good to distinguish a cat's scent. Can be found near Twolegs places but also grows outside the Med Den in SkyClan. Tansy is only to be consumed in small doses. Used to cure coughs, wounds, and poison. Prevents green cough, and soothes throats. Extremely dangerous to pregnant cats! Wild Garlic - Sharp, tangy scent. Grows in patches and typically has a white bulb with green leaves. Wild Garlic is found near the entrance of ThunderClan territory and in ShadowClan. Wild Garlic is to be rolled in to draw out poison in rat bites and prevent infection. Extra herbs Laurel leaf - Green, glabours leaves that are found in ThunderClan territory. These leaves serve no other purpose other than being used in herb wraps. Cob Nuts - A smooth brown nut with a hard outside shell. A type of hazelnut. This can be found under hazel trees that grow in sunny spots. Cob Nuts are made into ointments, and are used to attract prey out of their burrows. Rosemary/Mint - Used to lighten up the scent of a dead cat. Sticks - Thin, wooden protrusions. Can be used to bite down on when in pain, very helpful in kitting. You can also find those WC name and personality generators. I ran a few to get inspo and came up with a name and bio for my new character

Here's some tips! -
1. Ask warriors/apprentices to go out and get herbs! Asking your own apprentice/someone else's apprentice can be considered training. Plus, I don't think warriors mind.
2. Check your herb supply. Restock if you need to. Since you're a med cat, you can travel to any part of the forest's territory freely, but still be wary whilst on another Clan's territory.
3. Kill ticks off elders. This can be done using mousebile.
4. KNOW.YOUR.HERBS. This might be an obvious thing but it is super important you know what herbs are and their uses. Of course, not every herb is in WCUE, but not every herb in there can heal every illness. Know what to do Incase herbs in game don't work! ALSO KNOW THEIR LOCATION.
5. If you want an apprentice, make sure to get to know the kit beforehand! A kit willing to walk down the path of a Medicine Cat will show clear interest. If you decide to take on an apprentice, make sure to notify the leader so that way they can become a medicine Cat apprentice come the next meeting.
6. Don't forget your connection to StarClan. Unless you're like Mothwing StarClan is your god. Also don't forget the daily meeting between Medicine Cats at Moonstone.
7. Quiz your apprentice on herbs. This is how they will memorize and learn herbs. Also take them out with you when gathering herbs so they also know the location of herbs.
8. This is something I think some will forget - Medicine Cats know basic fighting moves. They can fight if necessary so don't feel bad if your med cat knows how to fight.
9. The most important thing is to have fun! Being a Medicine Cat is one of my favorite roles to roleplay as.
Here's some info on herbs (taken by wiki) -
Alderbark - Dark gray/greenish fissured bark. Found in swampy areas, along rivers, and sometimes in Leafbare. This herb is chewed. Used to ease toothaches.
Coltsfoot - Flowering yellow/white plant resembling dandelions. They grow most in greenleaf. Grows by the waterfall in RiverClan's (forest) territory and in ShadowClan's (lake) territory.
Chewed into a pulp.
Used to ease breathing, kitten - cough, and cracked/sore pads.
Blackberry/Blackberry Leaves - Pinkish white flowers, each having five petals and produces fruit once a year. Grows in sunny areas and carries a sharp scent.
These plants are found almost everywhere, and chewed into a pulp when using.
This herb eases the pain of bee stings.
Burnet - Medium - green colored basal leaves. May have purple spikes.
Burnet is found in ThunderClan territory in sunny areas.
These leaves are traveling herbs and are swallowed, mainly used for strength. Good for expecting queens.
Celandine - Yellow flower with four petals. Celandine poppies have bigger petals. This flower grows both in RiverClan and ThunderClan territory, but supposedly grows better in ThunderClan.
Celandine is crushed into juice and trickled into the eye to soothe weakened/damaged eyes.
Comfrey - Large leaves, small bell shaped flowers which are purple, pink, white, or fat brown roots. Tangy smell. This herb appears in damp, grassy places. Comfrey can be either chewed into a poultice or lined in one's best. Comfrey is used to repair broken bones, sooth wounds, wrenched claws, itching, and inflammation on stuff joints. Can also be used to ease stiffness on shoulders, and also on burns.
Feverfew - Small bush of flowers resembling daisies. Has a sharp tangy smell and small, soft leaves. They grow best along water. Feverfew is eaten and reduces body temperature for cats with fever/chills. Feverfew also heals aches and pains, and is very good with headaches.
Goldenrod - A tall plant with bright, yellow flowers. Goldenrod grows well on WindClan's moors, and is chewed into a poultice. Goldenrod is good for healing wounds.
Stinging nettle - Green, spiny seeds that are found all over the forest. The seeds are eaten, and used for cats who was swallowed poison. Also can be mixed with Comfrey to help heal broken bones. Also helps heal wounds, and chewing the stems helps fight infection.
Tansy - Round yellow flowers with a very strong sweet scent, making it good to distinguish a cat's scent.
Can be found near Twolegs places but also grows outside the Med Den in SkyClan. Tansy is only to be consumed in small doses. Used to cure coughs, wounds, and poison. Prevents green cough, and soothes throats. Extremely dangerous to pregnant cats!
Wild Garlic - Sharp, tangy scent. Grows in patches and typically has a white bulb with green leaves. Wild Garlic is found near the entrance of ThunderClan territory and in ShadowClan. Wild Garlic is to be rolled in to draw out poison in rat bites and prevent infection.
Extra herbs
Laurel leaf - Green, glabours leaves that are found in ThunderClan territory. These leaves serve no other purpose other than being used in herb wraps.
Cob Nuts - A smooth brown nut with a hard outside shell. A type of hazelnut. This can be found under hazel trees that grow in sunny spots. Cob Nuts are made into ointments, and are used to attract prey out of their burrows.
Rosemary/Mint - Used to lighten up the scent of a dead cat.
Sticks - Thin, wooden protrusions. Can be used to bite down on when in pain, very helpful in kitting. (I personally use this)
