My church, in Lafayette,LA just disaffiliated last month along with 90 other Methodist Churches in Louisiana. To date, over 40 percent of the UMC in my state have left. But, I am born and raised in Okla City and was married at First! It’s a travesty what is happening to you! Jean Hurley

I am so disappointed in the United Methodist Church. Here is a church trying to play by the rules established by the United Methodist Church and are being met with multiple roadblocks. Invented impediments with the purpose of delaying and ultimately denying this church to disaffiliate from the denomination. Why is this church different from all of the others who were approved for disaffiliation? Surely it doesn't have to do with money. Wanna bet?
Meanwhile, the denomination leadership (and I use that term loosely) is protecting the non-traditionalist churches, pastors and bishops that refuse to follow the rules.
